War Breaks Out, Donkeys Fly: A Typical MetalDad TR!
disney4dan replied to MetalDad's topic in Trip Reports
Cool - I made it on page 1. First time in more than a year that I'm not late in joining a TR! Like the TR so far, and that you mention the music for the trip. Going to have to test drive the soundtrack from Hunger Games, always looking for something new to listen to while driving. -

I miss some of the old rides in EPCOT! Horizons was an Oldy but a Goody. -
Help Kindle, Kindle Fire, Nook, IPad

We have a Samsung Tablet with the ability to add 32GB of memory to it. Works great as both an eReader and browser for the web. It will also accept Bluetooth devices like keyboards and a mouse, so it can be more like a mini PC if needed. I like using the Kindle app on that and the phone. -
Wow, joined the TR on the first day but I am already on page 3! I blame the shorts on the closet. All my clothes end up smaller each time I take them out, must be happening to that poor girl. Of course, mine just get small around the mid-section. Must be me. Maybe?

Ed was "Running for the Bay" in Apalachicola, Florida
disney4dan replied to PureTcrazy...rita's topic in Trip Reports
Congratulations Ed! Great photos Rita, looks like a great place to come in January or February. -
Great photo - I miss those days with the kids in the back pack. Mainly because I was almost 20 years younger!, but also that time and age was so much fun.

FWGuy and Girl go to the Poconos with Puppies
disney4dan replied to ftwildernessguy's topic in Trip Reports
Looks like a great place, good advice on the tester. I've never used one, probably been lucky so far. -
NP - I was finally able to make it through the whole TR this morning, and am completely hooked. The photos of the thermal features brought back so many memories, like I could almost smell them again. Of course, we did have Chili this week :rofl2: . I've noticed a common thread among a lot of us - our parents or grandparents instilled a "road trip" mentality in us at an early age. At least we can blame them for something good, right? Now that I am camping with my kids, I'm curious how you handled the food while tent camping in Canyon? That was a big concern of my wife's for our trip in 200

Awesome TR - will send prayers for your sister and your family. Keep that man card. Your family looks awesome and I bet the stories around the campfire are priceless. I hope you don't mind, but your TR reminded me of a You Tub video linked below. Cool musical score by Eddie Vedder It's a video a dad did of his first overnight backpacking trip with his daugher, and I thought you might enjoy it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xwGOcHL4rs8

I can understand that - having some quality time with family is important! We usually go to a local campground for Memorial Day weekend and frequently have friends and family stop by. There have been several times that I have looked out over the water at the kids having a blast on the raft and wishing I was in the water with them instead of entertaining. One of my really good friends could tell one time and we grabbed the fishing poles and headed on down to the lake! Glad to hear that the new RV is working out and you can drive it. Nancy and I have always had that concern on longer road tr

Holy Cow - I have been so busy trying to catch up on trip reports and this one just blows me away! Trip of a lifetime and I am amazed at how much you've covered. I'm only at the first shots of Disneyland and need a coffee break. Jason - this is a TR of EPIC proportions. You have given me something new to day dream about, might just have to start scheming on how to convince the kids we could do this. If you don't see me on the boards, know that I mentioned this to them and they have probably put me in an asylum.

Pirates of the Tennessean - Dave and INC's Dream Cruise!
disney4dan replied to DaveInTN's topic in Trip Reports
Awesome TR Dave - makes me want to try a cruise again, but I may need to play the lottery a few times in order to do it! I'm glad you guys enjoyed the trip and got to spend that time together, they grow up so quick! That photo of the towel Swan on the bed back at home is fantastic - you and INC have some wonderful kids. -
Pirates of the Tennessean - Dave and INC's Dream Cruise!
disney4dan replied to DaveInTN's topic in Trip Reports
Wow - I've been trying to get caught up, probably the latest that anyone has joined in on a trip report! I've been killing time and enjoying the TR Dave. You have a great family Dave, and you are blessed with some very beautiful (and classy) ladies in your family. I'm headed back to page 23 to try and catch up! -
Pirates of the Tennessean - Dave and INC's Dream Cruise!
disney4dan replied to DaveInTN's topic in Trip Reports
I'm late, but love this TR Dave. The last time we took an adults only vacation, Rhonda got us a fantastic deal on a DCL 3 night cruise and it was great. P.S. - typing this reply on a Droid tablet is more difficult than the iPhone. I think the iPad might have been a better choice. -
The very next week our troop took off on Friday for White Ledge Campground in Albany, NH just inside the National Forest Area and located on the east side of Mt. Chocorua. The plan was to have some of the troop hike the mountain from the Carter Ledge Trail to the summit, and some of the troop would drive around to the Champney Falls trailhead again and summit from there. However, this was Labor Day Weekend, and this place can get crowded when the weather is good. First a few photos of the White Ledge Campground. We selected this location for a few reasons; 1 - it was cheap, 2 - it was a CG

It was a great time, and I would love to try Philmont sometime. Our troop consists of a lot of 11 and 12 year olds right now, with probably another 4 or 5 Webelos bridging over this winter. I think in few years we might be ready. Thinking of a 10 mile or 20 mile hike next summer on an old rail grade that goes into the Pemigewasset river area to get the kids used to carrying a pack. Just not uphill yet, they are a little young for that yet. Thanks Dave! I have some more from the scout trip over Labor Day weekend, just trying to figure out what photos I can use - should probably not be pos
