  1. Thanks for Sharing! :grinch: To quote the Grinch - "It's Joyful AND Triumphant!"
  2. Really enjoying the girls photo antics - trying to get my two boys to do anything but look sullen (teenagers..) is a chore Great TP!
  3. Even tho you have a class V hitch, I'd definitely still use a weight distribution setup. The white knuckle phenomenon each time a semi passes is just not worth it, LOL! We've stayed in 100 (small sites), 500 x 3 and are looking at the 1200 loop for our return visit this fall. But as it 's been said, there really aren't any bad sites especially if you have a cart. We love Stone Mtn campground - I wasn't familiar with Eggtoberfest either…we are usually in FL in Oct. Enjoy your 2500 - love my Ram!
  4. Yep - will always be MGM to me…can't retrain an old dog.. :wheelchair:
  5. Now that I'm officially in "Big Rig" territory, I'm looking at loop 1200 for our stay this fall due to site depth. We've stayed in the 500 loop in the past and some are deep enough but it seems there is always so many kids, bikes, carts, etc in the road I'm leery of trying that loop. We will have a cart and I enjoy "looping" anyway - so little farther out is no big deal. What is your favorite big rig loop and why?
  6. Now that's what I had in mind! Looks great! I was thinking about making two - hang at each end of the awning. Great Job!!
  7. We had an equalizer hitch on our last bumper pull - loved that hitch! Cost is much less that these, but can't argue the hensley is NICE! Both of my camping buddies now have equalizers…. hehe!
  8. FWiW, I've had two bunkhouse campers in the past - first one was a Jayco Qwest (99'?) and second was a 2005 Fleetwood Prowler FW - the problem with bunkhouses that can be closed off is the ductwork. Often being at the back end of the camper they will get the least air or heat depending on position and setup of AC, etc. We had to put a fan on each boys bunk to keep them cool and almost never closed the door because of this. Defeated the purpose of them having their own space. I would have them turn the heat and air on in the Keystone or any bunkhouse with enclosed space so you can gauge if
  9. Handing pendant was what I had in mind…just how to make it look good…lol! Minnie bow is a good idea!
  10. I've built a couple of the Mickey Lamp posts now and was thinking about trying it as a hanging type light - like from the end of your awning. I have looked at the 12 and 16 inch globes with the "lips" and wondered if it might work to put the ears on each side of the lipped end , place some chain or something to hang and then use string lights or even solar powered lights to go in the top of the head. Has anyone tried this or do you think it would look stupid?
  11. I didn't glue my ears at all - used a 3 inch hole saw and the 3" lip of the 6" ears fits (with a little encouragement!) into the hole Put 6" ears on 12 inch globe. The ears can turn - I did put some silicone on the seam a year later, just for weatherproofing. https://www.dropbox.com/s/1zw7pszhybevcd5/Our%20Mickey%20Lamp.jpg?dl=0
  12. Second this one! Really nice to be able to go float in the river at their "beach"
  13. River Plantation is nice - sometimes hard to get into (no light) and it is in the "thick" of Pigeon Forge Anchor Down is nice - right on Douglas Lake (grew up camping on Douglas) If you prefer a quieter area - Cosby side of Gatlinburg has several campgrounds that are nice. We really like Jellystone Campground (Gatlinburg) - the Landry family has put in a lot of effort to make it great for folks with kids. They have "water wars" where kids ride on a trailer and squirt any adults within range a couple of times a year. There are activities, movies, karaoke , and there is access to a fairly un
  14. We just got back home yesterday. Here is a dropbox link to all the halloween decorations we found. The last two pics are ours. Had a great time!!! Need a fiend sign before I go back!!! https://www.dropbox.com/sh/8xgvb49c0pit3i2/KcDcG9Ezio
  15. https://www.dropbox.com/sc/0mapyad9zebkdbt/B15M6pufW0 I had to make one for our Trip this fall. Thanks for the directions! I put in a remote control color changing LED bulb - pretty cool at night.
  16. A Guinness at the Rose and Crown is a must do for me each time I'm at Epcot....Mothers Milk!!! I've done some of the flights at Raglans in Downtown Disney.....then flew home (while Mickey drove of course) :shortbus:
  17. I owe my spectacular physique to just this kind of treat!!! And I can just ride the boat back to the Fort! Is buzzed cart driving a crime? :cop:
  18. Our running joke is the warranty has run out on her...too late to take her back. Mileage on on her is much higher than rig!!
  19. Let us know how the hitch works! I've got a 24AS Desert Fox and it is a chunk of lead also. I use the 14k Equalizer and have no problems.
  20. Just checking to see if there were any other fiends who liked to go to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal? We've been six out of the last 7 years. I'm a Halloween nut (can't wait to decorate my campsite during our Oct trip to the Fort this year!!) and really enjoy going. My wife was hesitant to go the first time, but I think she likes it as much as I do. Last year they had a "Walking Dead" house that was great!
  21. Just wanted to put in a plug for our favorite overnight stop on the way to FW. It's right off 95 and EZ in and out. Most sites are pull thru and level. We usually just pull in, hook up power and water, stay hooked up to truck. Cracker Barrel and some fast food places close by. It's about halfway for us- 350 miles left to FW. We tried PointSouth once and it was ok, but like this much better. Only downside is no travel plaza or good diesel pumps at exit 53.
