Magic Bands at the Fort
Judy in Texas replied to Memphis's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
I just checked the MDE app and there are two options: Enter ID and Scan Ticket. I get tickets through the local military base. They have a bar code or one of those square thingies that I take a picture of and that links them to the Magic Band. Perhaps yours will work the same way. -
According to London's Sky News: "Bo Jones, of the Reedy Creek Fire Department, told Sky News it is possible the thrill-seeker did not keep his hand inside the ride. "We received a call from a Disney cast member informing us that a guest had been injured, so we responded and he was treated at a local hospital. It was a non-emergency situation," he said. "He was around 57 years old. What the medic told me is was he was saying, 'I had my hand on the side of the boat and I shouldn't have. It was all my fault.'" http://news.sky.com/story/1299324/brit-tourist-loses-fingertips-on-disney-ride

Yes, stand alone. There's only one awning with screens made for an Aliner but I don't want to put out the $$$ for it. -

The top on this straight legged one from Gander Mountain looks to have a bit more support . I wonder it this would help with the water collection issue? http://www.gandermountain.com/modperl/product/details.cgi?pdesc=Gander-Mountain-Straight-Leg-Canopy-10-x-8&i=771214 -
I wonder how they are handling the groups that assign one person to stand in line while the rest of their group wanders the park then expect to be able to get in line where the person they left behind is? I had that trouble with Olivander's Wand Shop. Not fun.

Screen room suggestions

Most of these screen rooms have good reviews presented first. I've been clicking on the bad reviews specifically: The Coleman 12x10 Hex Screen Room: Do NOT buy this shade shelter unless you want to take it down every time it rains. Our shelter was set up in our backyard when a summer thunderstorm came though. The canopy filled with water and the metal frame failled. When I called Coleman they said the shelter had to be taken down whenever it rained. They would not even repair it if we mailed it to them at our expense. We would not have bought it had we known it was so fragile. I like the -

Here is a link to the Clam 1660 Mag Screen Room: http://www.gandermountain.com/modperl/product/details.cgi?i=738659 Square footage-wise it is a bit smaller than the EZ Up 10x10; but, it is so easy to put up and take down. $$$ -
Screen room suggestions

Thanks for the continuing input everyone. Like Travisma, I'm looking for something to sit under, stay dry, and bug free. In addition I don't want the screens to restrict airflow too much. It was in the upper 90's this past weekend and we appreciated the little breeze we had. There's a Dick's across from work and another on the way home. I'll check them out. Thanks again everyone. -

RV not required. You have been to The Fort enough to have seen a variety of screen room options. My problem is it has to be stand alone since my camper is small. -
I spent the the last few days at a nearby state park and decided my next camping related expenditure needs to be a screen room. I have a small shelter that is easy to put up but it is too small and doesn't have screens - all it provides is a bit of shade. Tell me about your screen rooms. What brand is it? Why do you like it or why don't you like it. Have you seen another one you really like? Thanks!

The first thing I thought of when I saw the BLT one was "I'd order it without the hot dog". You can't charge $$$ for a dog with mustard so they Disney it up.

I love the New England style hot dog buns what can be toasted. They weren't sold at all in Texas until recently when King Hawaiian started selling them.

I'm looking forward to visiting Universal's WWoHP and Diagon Alley; but, what else should be on my list of have-to-do's? I'm not a big fan of big roller coasters like Space Mountain and Rockin' Roller Coaster; but, will ride the smaller ones like BTMRR and the SDMT. I would love to ride the Pteranodon Flyers but adults must ride with a child. What a stupid rule! Maybe the crowds will calm down after Halloween. Thanks in advance for your input, etc.
