Pirates of the Tennessean - Dave and INC's Dream Cruise!
BRDof3...Rob replied to DaveInTN's topic in Trip Reports
Holy crap, I looked away for a few minutes and suddenly I was reading page 4! Bring it on sir. Anyone that gets to make a surprise vacation with 6 beautiful women has the right to brag about it. -
We have an app for that...
BRDof3...Rob replied to AuburnJen's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
Is there a version that can be downloaded for a laptop? I don't have an Android or I-phone. -
Maybe they sent him to Wally World to live with Marty Moose.

Nebraska. Why yes there is more than cornfields.

I may have to try one of those signs next time I am having a boring road day for work. I've been through the museum over I-80 in Kearney. It's kind of fun, but you had a lot more fun in your plans. That museum gave us a bit of history. Bill-ary Clinton never came to Nebraska during his/her actual presidency. A short time after the 8 years were up, he came here to tour that museum. Don't we feel speshul? -

No, and it was my fault. Denise was working every day, and between my long hours and getting kids different places I missed my chance. I was a bad host. -

Last year we were watching new flood reports almost daily. This year we are watching drought updates and waiting for water restrictions. Crazy. -
Apple Pie Moonshine
BRDof3...Rob replied to BRDof3...Rob's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
They buy a package of Skittles, then put all the pieces of the same color in a mason jar of vodka. He came to the social hours with 4 or 5 different colors and shared them with anyone that wanted some. -
Apple Pie Moonshine
BRDof3...Rob replied to BRDof3...Rob's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
Dangerous, but delicious. Now, if you want truly dangerous, the camping club about did me in Friday night, offering me Skittles. You soak a single color of skittles in vodka, giving you what looks like colored water. Straight vodka, pepped up with all that sugar, was almost what put my lights out. It also gave me a heartburn that could have run the AC in my camper all weekend. I went back to the lemonade beer after that. I decided that was safer. -
This just might give Kungaloosh a run for its money as the official fiend camping concoction. Picture a piece of excellent apple pie, as a drink. 1 gallon of apple Juice 1/2 gallon of Apple Cider 6 cinnamon sticks 1 1/3 cups of sugar Add all of the above ingredients to a pot stir, bring to a boil then cool. Add 500 milliliters to 750 milliliters (I add 750) of Everclear to the pot then strain (if you want) and remove cinnamon sticks. Pour into Mason Jars for authenticity. Enjoy!

Help choosing a tent!
BRDof3...Rob replied to mgsmom's topic in Camper Suggestions: from tents to Class A beauties
The last tent we bought was a 10 x 20 tent from Cabella's. It wasn't cheap, I think about $300, but I wouldn't take any other after using this one. The rain fly will zip completely to the ground, enveloping the tent in case of weather. I know it sounds weird, but that it also the way to keep it cool in the hot humid summer. The floor material came up the sides far enough to be above the level of the air mattresses. That means that you don't get wet bedding, even if your bed ends up pressed against the wall. With the ends of the rain fly closed you have a space at either end of the tent, maybe -
We used one for a short time, that sprayed a lemon scent when she barked. It didn't take long for the gratuitous barking to end. She sits at campsites and in the back yard now without much trouble, even without the collar. She still barks when someone approaches, but I encourage that- as long as she stops when told.

Shoes
BRDof3...Rob replied to momofmany...Christina's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
My daughter and I bought a plastic shoe hanger from Wal-Mart for our TT. It is 4 slots wide, and about 6 feet tall. We hung it on the wall just inside the door, using velcro on the top and bottom. The shoes all go in there, where they won't get the wall wet or dirty (because the back of the hanger is solid plastic). The floor under it is not carpeted, so there's no problem if they drip just a bit. If they are very wet at all they get put in the tub overnight. It holds all the shoes, flip-flops, and crocs for our family of 5. When you come in, you take shoes off immediately and put them in the -
Starbucks is coming to WDW and DL
BRDof3...Rob replied to Live4FW's topic in WDW and Disney Park Discussions
It would be interesting to order a Starbucks coffee at WDW. It's not often you travel hundreds of miles to get a $10 cup of coffee. -
I'm more of a toggle switch kind of guy.

Campground prices
BRDof3...Rob replied to momofmany...Christina's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
As a PT staffer for a KOA, I can see why they charge what they do. Most of the ammenities at our CG are free to use, with only a couple of exceptions. The people just passing through, for example, are not using the jumping pillow or riding the pedal carts, so from their point of view, why should their site fee include them? As far as the number of people, the more people in the party the more they will be using the facilities and ammenities. That does mean that larger parties are more expensive for them to host, so they usually do charge more. As far as the total number of people, the computer -

I think it's a transistor radio so they can listen to the ball game while driving. The words on the screen are just to make it look official.

It's tracking your route, so it can pick up the pre-recorded statements and instructions that play when you approach specific sites or intersections.

What a pretty sight
BRDof3...Rob replied to BRDof3...Rob's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
It might get the kids to bed easier, too. I'll have to think about that. -
My TT sitting in the driveway, getting restocked and cleaned, water lines flushed out and treating with bleach water, ready for me to take her out this weekend (I hope!). Bring on the season, baby!

OK, here's one for you. You said the buses stop running when the park is completely empty. Exactly HOW do they determine that there park is completely empty of guests? That seems like an impossible task.

Slow Cooker Recipes
BRDof3...Rob replied to Discamper's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
My favorite (and the family's) is simple to do, and tastes wonderful. Wrap bacon (real bacon) around chicken breasts or thighs, and place in the crock. Mix undiluted cream of chicken soup (I also do a cream of mushroom) with sour cream. The more sour cream you use, the creamier your sauce comes out. Cover the chicken with the sauce and cook for 4-6 hours, depending on the crock pot. The chicken is fall-apart good, not to mention the bacon. We serve it over rice, and the sauce makes this a creamy favorite. Not so good for the heart maybe (use low or no fat sour cream), but we love it. -
