As Rennie said above you would be taking a chance by going thru the tunnel. We have had good luck taking the Francis Scott Key Bridge but in recent years I always avoid all the cities by taking I-81 and then 66 to 17 to 95 in VA. I don't think that would work too well coming from NJ though. I would either do the 301 option or the 113-13 to the Bay-Bridge-Tunnel. The Bridge-Tunnel route is very pretty but not very fast, also they have a pull over for RVs to check your propane is turned off before the bridge-tunnel entrance. The toll is expensive but worth it IMHO to avoid DC-Baltimore.

No Park Challenge?

We did this a couple of years ago when between AP's. Did a lot of the Fort stuff and Wilderness Lodge, did the Bike/Walking Path a bunch. We also went to a different resort each day for exploring/walking/shopping/lunch. And we went to the Boardwalk and Downtown Disney areas on different days. Throw in the free boat rides and the Monorail and we had a full week :D -

I believe that fire ring and tables are a stop on a new Disney Tour. I read this on the "Couponing to Disney" website: New! Escape to Walt’s Wilderness Tour at Disney World Resorts: The new Escape to Walt’s Wilderness offers an off-the-beaten-path experience ideal for the whole family. The journey begins with a pontoon boat tour from Disney’s Contemporary Resort marina with a Disney guide who shares stories about Walt’s love of the outdoors and nature. He tells us we are about to “walk in Walt’s footsteps and see why he was determined to choose this place for his next Disneyland.” Next, gu -

Why don't they enforce rules for the large groups that cause so many problems? How about overcrowded individual sites? How about phantom sites? Groups taking over the pool? etc etc etc. It seems to be a Disney policy to take the money and run...... especially at the Fort. -
I'd be all for that. We've had AP's off and on now for years but the price is just too much lately esp now having to buy another adult one for our 5 yr old... I would have no problem going only in the off-season and/or weekdays only. As Shannon said, all the more reason to do a monorail/resort day or Pleasure Island, uh I mean Downtown Disney, uhhh I mean Disney Springs!

Great report! I miss having a pop-up, there's nothing like the open air feel of canvas and screens like a tent but the real beds of a camper, best of both worlds :)

And a brief time out to put on my Fire Marshall Bill hat...... I think that's a candle on the stove, if so I would toss it. Or at least get one in a jar with a wide base and don't leave it unattended. Back when I was a CSI guy, candles were one of the number one causes of fatal fires (tied with smoking in bed or while lying on the couch...) I went to way too many and it was always very sad, and very preventable. And in a camper, open flames or anything that uses oxygen is always a safety concern. While you are driveway camping do a couple of fire drills with the kids and make sure t -

Looks great! Jayco makes good use of the space in their trailers. Nice tub/shower combo for the kids. I had 2 pop-ups years ago and I still miss the open-air feel of the canvas and screens but I don't miss having to crank the roof up! In many ways the hybrid is the perfect trailer, open air of a pop-up, hard walls and full bath of a trailer. And in a pinch you could leave the beds up in bear country or boondocking at Walmart and sleep on an air mattress or 2. Speaking of boondocking did you check the date and the water levels on the battery? Always have a good Deep Cycle battery on boar -

It does sound great, and with the price drop if there is a minor problem or two (there always is!....) you'll have the money to have it fixed, or for the parts to start the DIY projects. :) 1. As soon as possible schedule a couple of days/nights in the camper with all the manuals in front of you, even if it's in your own driveway. Better to find something that needs attention close to home. 2. Keep a notebook and pen in it at all times to keep to-do and shopping lists. Write down things as they come up. 3. Make sure you get very familiar with the hitch/tow setup before you go too far, -
Time Travel (not being nostalgic!)
Avatab.... Steve replied to Travisma's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
Todays Disney is not the same as yesterdays, Todays Disney is truly a study in contrasts...... some of that is good, much is not so good, but in the end there is still enough of yesterdays Disney to make us come back as often as possible........ A Love-Hate relationship if I ever saw one! hmmm maybe we should be calling Dr Laura for some advice on this.... LOL -

The NADA RV guide ( http://www.nadaguides.com/RVs ) shows that the low retail for that is 6700 and 8100 avg retail in good condition (that's here in NE, your zipcode might give a different price), so he is asking a fair price esp with the add ins. Is he getting out of camping? If so, what else will he throw in? What does he say about the wallpaper damage? He should have some idea what happened, esp since he is willing to come down 500 dollars right away.... Don't forget to have him show you how every onboard system works, water, heat, AC, 110 electric, 12v electric, propane, lights e -

Check RVTrader, craiglist and other RV specific boards to get an idea of what is out there. Be patient and don't settle for something just because it's a "good deal". You'll be spending a lot of time in it (hopefully!) so be as picky about the floorplan as you are about the weight. As others have said above, check the roof and look for any signs of past or present leaks or mold and mildew (use your nose when you first walk in). Any good RV dealer will do a leak check for a small cost. Jayco, Starcraft (owned by Jayco), Winnebago (started making trailers again a couple of years ago), A -

Some really great suggestions so far, here's some more in no particular order..... When near Chicago try and see U-505 at the Museum of Industry: http://www.msichicago.org/whats-here/exhibits/u-505/ also the Frank Lloyd Wright Museum is worth a stop: http://www.flwright.org/visit/homeandstudio Someone already mentioned Custer State Park, we thought that was better in many ways than the NP. Mt. St Helens would be great recent history. Pima Air and Space Museum and Aircraft Graveyard Tour in AZ: http://www.pimaair.org/ The Cosmosphere in Kansas, home to Apollo 13 CM and the Merc -

Hey, does anyone here know if Typhon Lagone offers full days of excitement?? -
I'll echo what has already been said here: Videotape the walkthru from start to finish if you can, and point the camera where the tech is pointing/talking about so that later when you need to use something you can see on the video what he was telling you to do. Also, if possible ask them to let you stay in the camper on their lot for the first night, maybe even two, they should have hookups there to use, if not then stay close by that night. When you are alone with the camper thats when you can take your time, really test it out and make sure every last system is working. Get a frosty be
