  1. I suppose at some point you have to get back on 75 before the turnpike unless you go way out of your way to avoid the turnpike, so yeah. Seems like Ocala is the most likely.
  2. We seem to be going to the Fort during "Fall Break" which we expect will bring a million of our closest and dearest friends along with us. We're in North Alabama, and usually we travel to the Fort via Dothan, AL which is the halfway point +1 hour for us vs the Atlanta Speedway. We do this generally for convenience and familial reasons since my parents live in Dothan and gives us a chance to stretch our legs and spend the night as we travel down. After once experiencing heavy traffic on I-75 from Lake City through Ocala it occurs to me that our route might not be the most optimal given the t
  3. Looks like you are making good progress on your renovation. Kudos! I really like the look of that camper, inside and out... it hits me on the vintage sweet spot. DW is all about tiny houses right now, and in that size range I keep thinking MH... so maybe something like this would be a good compromise for us.
  4. Absolutely. It is indistinguishable from the park stuff.
  5. Where do predators go? Where their targets are. I'm not the least bit surprised. I'm sure Disney does their due diligence in their hiring practices but they can only do so much.
  6. I submit to you that this combination is delicious. Now, before you accuse me of smuggling rum into a park, I'll point out that my supply of Dole Whip is "homemade" as the mix is available online. Here is at least one source... http://www.amazon.com/Dole-Pineapple-Serve-Pound-case/dp/B00CCTE5WQ. We bought one bag rather than a case and it was about $20 at the time. Each bag is good for 2 gallons of Dole Whip. We freeze it a quart at a time in a Kitchenaid mixer with the ice cream maker attachment. The consistency is not quite the same as a soft serve machine, but the flavor is unmistaka
  7. Awesome pics. I love the totem poles... they should bring those back.
  8. I didn't see this one, so I'll chime in... We like trading pins, and your can do that with all the CMs at all the various resorts.
  9. And ours... back when we still had the Volvo. We traded into a 2011 GMC Acadia, also blue. https://www.flickr.com/photos/geoffm3/5728937284/
  10. I love my Big Green Egg. Pizza is one of my favorite things to cook with it.
  11. Well, one thing in particular that would scare me about this rig (apart from the obvious ones of course) is I can imagine how tricky and white knuckled taking the thing out of the water on a windy day and whether or not the ramp is long enough to accommodate such a beast!
  12. We've camped there a couple of times also, until we discovered Cloudland Canyon. It's not much farther down the road from there and Chattanooga is still reasonably accessible.
  13. The prospect of this being filmed vs shot with a digital camera is really no big deal. Most movies at the movie theater today, even if they are projected digitally start out life as film. Digital projection however would be a great improvement. Even if they just remastered the old movie.
  14. I don't think any of the Cloudland Canyon sites are full hook up. Just electric and water.
  15. This just reinforces my negative opinion that the Fort's days are numbered. Here it is, sandwiched between a high roller hotel and a soon to come premium DVC property?
  16. Another shout-out for Kenny. We just got back from the Fort a couple of days ago and rented a couple carts from him. Worked out great, we will definitely use him again. Thanks Kenny!
  17. That sounds a bit different from how ours is... ours uses a plastic bead to attach to the side of the camper inside (and that is screwed into aluminum channel), and there is a bead on the bottom side of the tent that slides into an aluminum channel which is screwed to the bed board (the part that swings down). On ours the replacement plastic bead you had to line up and then poke holes through for the screws, so I imagine that part is similar. What's the manufacturer of your hybrid? I have seen some REALLY sticky double sided tape before, so you should be fine. What color was the tape? If i
  18. "Beverage Flight" sounds a lot better than "single beverage." The official site says only one drink included. I think I'd rather spend the money on a real table service meal.
  19. This is our favorite campground thus far... outside the Fort that is. We've stayed twice now, and we'll probably go back again in the summer.
  20. Haven't stayed there, but on our last trip we stayed at the Georgia Veterans Memorial State Park in Cordele a few miles north of there. It's a few miles off the interstate though so I don't know how you feel about that, but the campground was nice, it's on a reservior and there is surprisingly a museum and a train there. We didn't partake in any of that... just a cheap place to stay for the night and head out the next morning, but I could see staying there a couple days. I think we paid about $23 for the night.
  21. I'm sure it could be done as I've seen those fully sealed battery boxes... it's just that in our camper there's not really a good place inside to mount one, other than the front storage compartment which would kind of defeat the point. There are a couple of other compartments further back but I hate to use those up with a battery.
  22. Interesting... so if I take a preferred campsite value price and punch that into the CPI calculator, today's rate is $75.85 before tax. Price today for value rate during the week for preferred is $75 before tax.
