  1. This board is very educational. But there are some things I would just rather I did not know.
  2. Best way to celebrate a birthday that Ican think of. Have a blast!
  3. We went to Myrtle between Thanksgiving and Christmas a few years ago. Very low crowds, so it was nice for shopping. OTOH, it was cold for swimming. Not that we didn't, but it was very cold. Just a comment on the snow - remember that snow is a big thing in SC. Because we don't get much of it, the towns don't own any snowplows. That means when it snows, everything closes. Some people do drive on the unplowed roads, but they have little to no experience driving in snow and there are many wrecks. If I were at a resort in Myrtle when there was snow, I would expect very few of the staff to
  4. Well, I applied. Not sure I qualify as an expert on WDW, although I did emphasize my budgetting experience, having taken the 8 of us for $200 a few years ago. I am hoping a fiend gets on the panel!
  5. We loved being near the campfire and movie. I liked that I could have a few at the movie while I was at the campsite and they weren't too far away. Not suire about the pool - it wasn't open when we were there. However, we did get permission to swim at Wilderness Lodge instead!
  6. Thank you, Mo! Oh, how I wish I could reach into the picture and take a big drink!
  7. I know someone more knowlegdeable than I will be by to tell you when the buses stop running. But I just have to give a plug for my favorite nighttime fun. Take a boat to the Contemporary, then the monorail over to the Polynesian and get yourself a pineapple drink. Sure to be a good time for everyone!
  8. Unless you are right on the beach at Hunting Island, take tons of bug spray. I absolutely love that campground, but the mosquitos are fierce. Last time we camped there, we vowed never again unless we can get a beachside site. The ocean breeze keeps the bugs away from those campsites, but even the campsites right across form those are suffer a great deal.
  9. Hugs for you and Rich. :hugs2: We are fighting with our home owners association. They keep changing the covenant about where we can park vehecles that don't fit in the driveway, but like dave pointed out, they need a quorum to change the covenant and they have never had a quorum at any meeting. So how can they fine us?? Talking to people like that is :beathorse: Praying you can work something out!
  10. Welcome!! OK, I am not as much of a veteran at FW as some here , but here is my advise. YMMV. I love your plan of arrive around check-in, set-up, relax, and then go to Hoop-De-Do. The next morning, I would ride the boat to Magic Kingdom. For me, that boat ride is magical and nothing says WDW like MK. I would not ride your bikes that first day to the marina. I would think you will all be tired when you come back from MK, even if you come back early afternoon. You can catch the bus from the Marina to your loop. It sounds like a great trip!
  11. OK, just my personal opinion, but you asked. I think the ears on everyone is too busy. BUT, I don't have to look at it. If you like it, keep it the way it is. Are you going to make t-shirts from it or just use it for scrapbooking?
  12. I would ask a travel agent to help you. I have heard amazing stories about some of the travel agents that advertise on FF.net. How they have helped people gets sites for days when no one else could. Hope you have a great trip!
  13. :smartass: There seems to be an extra bitterswet quality to this cruise, knwing that it may be the last one for the whole family. OTOH, I see the possibility of a TCD family reunion with all the girls with their husbands and children some day in the future.
  14. At first, i was kind of disappointed that the last "update" didn't have pictures. Then i started getting glad it didn't!
  15. I totally hear you on the parents not watching their kids, or watching them do dumb stuff and not seeming to care. i was just at Whole Foods waiting to get a rotisserie chicken. They had them on sale today, so there was a line waiting. One of the moms watched her 8yo(?) daughter walk up to the display where they keep the hot chickens and touch the tile, right below the two signs that say "CAUTION: HOT! DO NOT TOUCH!!" When the daughter jerked her hand back and stuck her finger in her outh, the mother didn't even flinch.
  16. Another lovely lunch time spent pretending I am on a cruise. Thank you, TCD.
