Would you like to teach for Disney?
Momof6....aka Marty replied to Lou...'s topic in WDW and Disney Park Discussions
I have friends who taught English in China. Actually, they met over there, fell in love, and got married! :rofl2: They are now working in an orphanage there. Right, now, I am too busy teaching my own kids. Maybe someday? -
This is a list I put together before our last trip: (I know the pettingg zoo is no longer at FW, but it won't let me edit it out. Sorry!) ? Collect autographs instead of pins. ? Collect stickers from Cast Members ? Ask the front desk at your resort what ?free? things there are to do: for example at the Wilderness Lodge, one family gets to raise the flag each morning. ? Investigate special kids' programs at your Disney resort hotel. The Deluxe resorts usually have kids' recreation programs such as coloring, crafts, pool games, Hidden Mickey searches, and storytelling at various times. Cost:

Strollers at Disney
Momof6....aka Marty replied to campingmommy aka Kelli's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
I really love a bigger stroller that will carry a lot for WDW. We bring in all our food, plus in November, we start out and end up in sweatshirts that get crammed under the stroller during the day. I am hoping to put the one we have in storage (mil's basement) until our trip as that is the only time we will be using it. -

One stand-by my children look forward to when we travel is Fritos and beans. Before we leave, i make a big pot of beans in my crockpot. (recipe below). I freeze them in one meal portions (that is, enough for the eight of us to have a meal using them - usually one Gladware container saved from buyingg Hillshire Farms deli meats. :rofl2: ). Anyway, when we travel, I throw a Gladware container of beans in the cooler. A few days later, when they are thawed, we served them in snack-sized bags of Fritos with cheese on top. Servve a piece of fruit for dessert so you can feel they got something n -

Snacks for the kids at the parks
Momof6....aka Marty replied to MLM5.. aka Judy's topic in Camping for Kids
It was those BabyBel Cheeses from Laughing Cow. We had a soft-sided cooler we brought in. I had a stroller and it just stayed under there. I don't remember any ice packs. BUT, this was November, so it wasn't very hot that day. Actually, it was around 78 F - perfect temp for a day at MK! -
Snacks for the kids at the parks
Momof6....aka Marty replied to MLM5.. aka Judy's topic in Camping for Kids
We had grapes and cheese with crackers. I also packed apples, which they enjoyed. They also really liked the Clif Bars I brought. Oh, and GORP. I make my GORP with raisins, mixed nuts, and SunSpire candies- like M&M's but no colors or flavors made from crude oil. :) -
...if you were trying tto make rope drop? I am trying to make the most of our one park day, so i would like to be at Epcot at Rope Drop. If you would drive, about how long before Rope Drop would you leave the campground to allow time for driving, parking, getting to the park, and getting tickets? Thanks for all your help! :D

Requesting a loop
Momof6....aka Marty replied to ~Kristina~'s topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
I read that the best way to request a site is by what it offers rather than a number. Also, it was recommended to me to fax my request. Here is what I faxed, with my personal info removed: The fax# for the Fort is: 407-824-3508 Date of fax TO: Ft. Wilderness Resort and Campground Site Assigner FROM: Name and Address SUBJECT: Site Request for (Dates of your stay) RE: Reservation # XXXXXXXXXXXX I am really looking forward to my stay at the Ft. Wilderness Resort and Campground and am writing about campsite requests. I do understand that these are only requests and cannot be guaranteed. If poss -
I belong to a group who avoid foods with petro-chemicals (crude oil) in them due to the neurological changes they cause. Many of the members rave about how great WDW is at catering to their special needs, even having chefs come to the table to discuss what would be safe for their children to have. I have never taken advantage of this (Disney food prices for my group are way out of our budget), but it is so great to know that this exists. For more info on how petro-chemicals can effect you and your family, you can got to http://www.feingold.org and feel free to pm me any questions you have.

Getting the kids out of School
Momof6....aka Marty replied to Just Whipperwhirl's topic in Camping for Kids
We homeschool also. One off the things I love about homeschooling is we set our own schedule. We usally do school all summer, when it is too hot in SC to go out much. Then we can take time off for Disney and such with no worries. -
I like mine a little burnt with mustard and relish. BUT, the best hot dogs I ever had were in Bethlehem PA. There are two or three small restaurants near Lehigh U. that make Greekers. They are hot dogs topped with Greeker Sauce, mustard, and raw, chopped, white onion. When I asked what Greeker sauce was, I was told it is the stuff scraped off the grill at the end of the night. LOL I have not had any in many years, but I still miss them. I have found a recipe on AllRecipes for Grrek Sauce for hot dogs. I might try that this week to see if it is close to what I remember. Could you sha

If it were just me, I would go back to the Magic Kingdom, esp. for 4yo princess fan. My 14yob voted for Animal Kingdom, as that is where his interests are. But the rest voted for Epcot, so I am trying to make that great for them. I deally, I would like to spend the next few months studying the various countries and cultures and then count Epcot as a homeschool field trip. ;D Thanks for all the input everyone!

Who's going to the Fort, and when ya gonna be there?
Momof6....aka Marty replied to JCJRSmith's topic in Disney Trips
That is actually a brillant idea to do one park a trip, ecspecially with small kids and to be honest, I hadn't thought about touring the resorts until you posted that, most excellent idea! Last trip my kids chose to stay in the campground the last day instead of do a park. I'd love to hear more about your camping recipes, if i read correctly you did alot of precooking and baking before you left. I had the best ofim intensions to do that but it just didnt work out :rofl2: We were only there four nights, so I did pretty standard camping stuff for dinner. The first night, we had cold BLT's. -

We won't all fit in a golf cart, but will probably just take turns going looping with a few at a time. We are scheduled to arrive around 5:00pm on the 31st, so will miss the GC parade, but hope to ToT. There is a chance I can talk my dh into going down a day early, depending if he is still drumming in a church praise band then. We only go to one park per trip. Last time was Magic Kingdom. This time, we are hoping to go to Epcot. It doesn't sound like much to some, but with all there is to do at Fort Wilderness, plus Downtown Disney, and touring other resorts, we have a blast!
