  1. Thank goodness for lazy saturdays so i can catch up on my trip report reading. As far as the picture of Ariel - my 16yog thought that was maybe Ursula when she just looked like Ariel, only creepier? And I too am a Dame Judy Densch fan. She does comedy and bosses James Bond around!
  2. I have not seen the tombstones at Epcot, other than the pictures from above that TCD shared. Could someone please post more pictures of them soo i can see what y'all are talking about? Great report, as always, TCD.
  3. I keep wishing and hoping they would do something in the vein of Give a Day again. *sigh*
  4. I am not sure if the mistake is in Bob's trnslation or in the German directions, but "3 Metres" equals about 10 feet. Or is the measuring from the middle of the road? I want to be sure i get this right.
  5. I was really enjoying reading all the trip reports, but now Lou says I am not able to read anymore. http://www.fortfiends.net/forum/topic/4349-what-are-you-thankfulfor/page__p__103268__hl__marty__fromsearch__1#entry103268
  6. Maybe it is that you are young? I saw the mention of Devil's Tower and immediately thought of Close Encounters. I don't know that my kids are familiar with it, but they are homeschoooled. I guess we should get the movie and watch it for school one day - you know, to educate them on that part of American Geography! :)
  7. I know what you mean. I could go for #7 right now. And I am only 48. :) Oh wait - you mean TR posts. I thought you meant children. Nevermind.
  8. I just read this whole TR today. I had been taking a TR break since i was so disappointed our trip was cancelled. Your pictures are beautiful and Aiden is adorable. Looks like you had a great trip. Can't wait to meet you! :D
  9. I agree absolutely! Now would be a good time to start training your older children to help out more with meals and cleaning, if they don't already. They could get lunch and breakfast each day, leaving you to only worry about dinner. Also, don't be afraid to enforce nap time, even for the older children. They can have a lie down mid-day to read or just rest quietly, or even write a journal about the trip. Do what you need to make the time as stess-free as possible, but enjoy this special time makking memories that will last a lifetime!
  10. As most of y'all know, we did our Disney trip on an extreme budget. Our budget was $300 plus gas for 8 people, 5 days at WDW (incl. travel days, as they were special to us as well). At the end of the trip, I totaled up what we had spent and it came to $200. BUT, we tent camped during "off" season (mid November). brought all our food with us (ate the same as we would have eaten at home), and our one day in a Park was covered by Give a Day, Get a Day, which Disney only did in 2010. (I keep praying they would do it again!!)
  11. My dd and I went to Wal-Mart last night. My mil asked me to get the "black Friday" pj's on sale for her to give the children. Since her other present to each of them is a new mattress (desperately needed!), I said i would do it. We got to Wal-Mart before 8:30pm for the 10pm sales. They had the door busters in the center of the aisles with shrink wrap tape around them and signs marking the price and when they would go on sale. People were already starting to pick through the selections. I asked an employee standing guard if this was OK. He said we just couldn't take all of one items, so
  12. Now that is an idea I like the sound of. Let's just start an occupy FW movement. I think this has potential.
  13. I would not allow it, but if there is an urgent situation, you could be prepared with a whistle on a loop to hang around the neck. My friend did this with her kids when they camped. They could go to the CS, but they had to wear the whistle and not hesitate to use it.
  14. Sounds like a wonderful trip! Thanks for letting us share in the fun!
  15. I am very grateful to the DisBoards. It was through them that I "met" many of the fiends i now call friends, even though i haven't met them IRL yet. I don't go there any longer because i find all i need right here. :D
  16. I'm enjoying reading all your exploits adventures. Can't wait to read more!
  17. Even this brief report made me sad we had to cancel our trip. Glad you all had fuin and really hope to met y'all someday. In the meantime, this board is the best place on the web and i am glad just to be part of it. (Yikes, I only had 1/2 a glass of wine with dinner. Must be hormones making me so sappy. Sorry!!)
  18. Ok, now i am caught up on two TR's. This one is great! I am looking forward to more! I esp. want to read about the race. I did run a 1K once, when i was dating a runner. That was about 25 years ago. I would love to become one of the people you hear aboout who take up running in thier 50s. That gives me a few more years to just think about it.
