  1. I think it’s on the bar bites menu but I didn’t see that option on the Disney dining online menu.
  2. I retract my statement. Those prices aren’t at the level I expected. I’m going to see if Door Dash delivers to TN.
  3. My biggest issue with these wings will likely be the price...which will probably be in excess of $2/wing. At that price it's a shame if the reaction is meh.
  4. Yes this ^^ And this Buffalo raised guy is always willing to check out the wing offerings on a menu. I’m intrigued by PB&J wings. Looking forward to a first hand account of those. Since I’ll likely never have them, one of y’all will need to report back on them.
  5. Looks like another moderately priced dining option is out, replaced by $$$$. But honestly not surprising. The Wave always seemed to have tables available. And this will fill up, and the average check will probably be 3x what the Wave was bringing in.
  6. Replace the word guest with customer, and this applies to most any corporation. Corporations exist to maximize two things; shareholder return and executive compensation. Why is it so difficult for so many of us to accept that Disney stopped being the magical company that Walt built and became a ravenous, money sucking corporation? This literally happened decades ago, and yet we still somehow want to believe that they are somehow "different". They're not. Maybe they were still a bit different a decade or so ago, at least from a customer service standpoint. But I don't think that was beca
  7. Don't worry. Sure, we are just 3 weeks from the actual 50th anniversary, and not much new is ready for guests to enjoy. But Disney has planned a celebration lasting at least 18 months, and they will slowly trickle out new rides, shows and attractions throughout that 18 months to keep the diehards repeatedly coming back. People that want to be there in October for the anniversary will be there regardless of whether they can ride Tron, Guardians, or see the new nighttime shows. And then when these things are introduced, one at a time, they'll return, over and over, to get their pockets picke
  8. Those are the best nights, in an RV when it's raining.
  9. It's always amazing to me to hear that Disney, the company with the magical background and family-friendly reputation, has treated these employees so poorly. It would be like finding out that Alice was secretly beating the Brady kids. Just seems divergent with the behavior you would expect.
  10. That's the important point, right there. I love when pictures from our many trips to the Fort pop up, with all of my family together. Sometimes I like to go back and read my old trip reports and relive those moments. As much as I enjoyed writing those reports for all of you to read, and bantering back and forth about things on here (and the DIS before)...and I very much DID enjoy that!....I also wrote the reports in part to memorialize the trips for my own enjoyment in the future. I'm sure others who have written reports have also enjoyed re-reading their own reports from time to time, and
  11. The fact that it sounds even remotely reasonable for the price to have doubled in 6 years is proof that we’ve lost our collective minds. Housing prices have doubled. The price of a steak has doubled. The price of a Disney vacation has doubled. Has your income doubled? If it has, good for you. But I bet most people would answer no. I know we all make decisions and prioritize spending based on what’s important to us, and I am not criticizing anyone for choosing to spend their money at WDW. I just don’t see how this is sustainable in the big picture.
  12. So if you are not a Florida resident or DVC owner, your only option is $1300 + tax?
  13. That was so 2009. Prior to the onset of the Year of a Million Schemes. The Mouse was a kinder, gentler rodent then. Not to mention, the high rolling guests of the Lodge didn't appreciate the ring of scum us campers left in their pool. That's why the purchase contracts for the new Lodge DVC resort have a "no campers will be allowed in the pool" clause. Maybe.
  14. Wait, what? All these years you thought I've been joking? I don't joke. These are prophesies. Sure, the massage parlor and casino hasn't been built yet. But give it time. If you have seen the stuff Disney is broadcasting these days, you know it's not all that far fetched anymore.
  15. I bet when you return to the cabin in the evening, there will be a QR code on your bed to scan and see pictures of towel animals.
  16. I get that, and it doesn't bother me. I'd just be surprised if Club Cool reopened with the same setup as it used to have. People take those little cups, drink it, then take that same cup (even if supposed to grab a new cup) and push it up against the dispenser to try another flavor, leaving their saliva residue on the machine. Or, if they have the machines where you have to push the button, that's an awful lot of drinking, touching cups, touching machines, etc. Way too many opportunities for cross contamination considering the precautions Disney seems to take. Or maybe Disney is assuming
  17. I can't imagine they will let people fill their own cups. Maybe they'll have a CM manning it, or have some sort of motion sensing auto filling dispensers to minimize touch.
  18. In other Disney news, guests visiting Mickey's Backyard Massage Parlor and Casino are strongly encouraged to be up to date on their tetanus inoculation, and have a current prescription for penicillin on hand.
  19. Good information. One thing to note though about the examples of other parks. I can only speak from experience of Dollywood's pass, which they call Time Saver. For your $49, you get 8 uses, but they don't restrict you for the best rides. For instance, the Lightening Rod typically has the longest standby wait times of any ride in the park, and if you wish you can use all 8 of your Time Saver uses on that ride. Imagine if you could spend $49 and ride Rise of the Resistance 8 times in a row? Or 3 or 4 times, then Toy Story and/or Rock n roller. So it's not a fair comparison to compare the
  20. I fixed it. Imagine taking the kids to WDW in the 1970's under that system.... DAD: "ok kids, want to ride the Carousel of Progess, If you Had Wings, or the train?" KIDS: "no Dad!! We want to ride Space Mountain!!!" DAD: "sorry kids, that's just for rich people. But hey, how about we ride the Peoplemover with our eyes closed? It'll be just like Space Mountain!"
  21. I imagine pricing will be determined in real time in the app using algorithms based on crowd size and location, date, time, and whether Chapek has met his quota triggering bonus and restricted stock grants.
  22. I've heard of Fort Fiends being called many things over the years, but polite company isn't one of them.
  23. We just got home this afternoon from spending a few days with Dolly. It was nice as always. We opted to rent a cabin at the Pigeon Forge KOA this time, in order to have easy walking access to the trolley depot and Old Mill. As it turned out that didn’t work this time as the walking path is closed. They are building a new trolley terminal next to the old one. It’ll be great when finished in a couple months, but made it this time so that we drove to Dollywood. No big deal since my annual pass provides free parking, and since they raised the trolley fee to Dollywood to $2.50 each way, with
