Stay out of the lakes AND the ocean

Which beaches or is it all the way from Jacksonville to Pensacola? We're heading to the Destin area in a few weeks and just want to know if we should avoid swimming in the gulf or not. -
Pressure Washing Your Motorhome
oft013 replied to oft013's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
Well thanks for all the input. I can't say I like the majority, but I respect the wiser and more learned fiends. So it will be low and slow by hand and waxing after. This will involve a few weekends and a bunch of beer. Especially since it gets a little warm here in Texas in the afternoons. So I will cover the afternoons with just the beer portion of the job. -
Is it OK to pressure wash your motorhome? If so, what kind of pressure washer would you recommend? Gas vs Electric? PSI? GPM? I am looking for a gerera use pressure washer for home use. The main job will be to keep the MH clean, but the outside patio could also use soem help.

Awesome. It doesn't get any better than that. It had me grinning ear to ear and almost missing when my kids were young. -
Campsite Etiquette
oft013 replied to GaDawgFan.....Kelly's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
Part of the problem is Common courtesy is no longer very common. If they were my kids they wouldn't be on your site at all. They would walk to the other by by using the road. Count me as part of the cranky crowd. -
It's nice to see maintenance being done. We have had several trips where everything was starting to look run down.

After reading posts back several months ago about surge protectors and with our next outing will be to Grayson State Park we have already purchased our 30A surge protector from Camping World. We paid somewhere around $225.00 on sale. Showing my wife these pictures really drove the point home for that investment. Next is to get the lock for it. It is currently on sale at Camping World for less than $20.00. This lock just as in any lock is just to keep honest people honest. If someone really wants it, no lock is good enough.

Class C or Travel Trailer
oft013 replied to YodaGirl's topic in Camper Suggestions: from tents to Class A beauties
The extra room while traveling we found to be a big reason we like our motor home. The last TT we had we pulled with a dodge durango, not only did we get lousy gas milage, but everyone was crammed together while traveling. I decided that if I was going to get lousy gas milage we might as well be comfortable, so we changed to a MH. There are the other advantages as stated above, bathroom and snack trips while in motion. Being able to pull into a rest stop and go to the bathroom or bed without having to go outside. We usually stop at the first rest area once we get off 75 on the Florida Tur -

There are other Grapefruit Beers more available. Here in North Texas there is Seeradler plus, which is a little more grapefruity then what you get in Germany but still a pretty good alternative.- 90 replies

Wifi service and cell service
oft013 replied to iluv2cook's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
Not all the loops have wi-fi. The only place the wi-fi seems to work is near the trading posts. The fort has some modems that connect to the cable tv sytem. There is a deposit for the modem, that you will get back when you return it. If your VZ phone is hotspot capable, that may br the way to go. We have done both over the years, I like using the phone as a hot spot but there is a monthly charge from VZ. There is a limited amount of modems available. -
The dirt... on poop...
oft013 replied to twiceblessed....nacole's topic in Camper Suggestions: from tents to Class A beauties
Just to add my 2 cents worth. We keep them both closed and dump as needed. But once the grey tank needs to be dumped I always dump the black water first. After the last time I dump the black the morning we leave, there the a place on the MH to connect a hose to rinse the tank. I let it rinse for a good 5 minutes and thne close it add about a gallon of water and chemicals for the ride home. Then we dump at a campground by our house and do another 5 minute rinse. The main reason I was told to keep the tanks closed was so no sewer gas could get back in the MH. But the comment above about -

Used to live in Palm Harbor and it was 1.5 hours from our door to Disney's door. Now we are in the DFW area and it is 19 hours give or take. But we still get annual passes. We usually take 3 trips a year to Disney for a total of about 30 days and the annual passes more than pay for themselves. Currently we have a hard credit card type card, but our wrist bands should be shipping to us in a couple of days. Someone mentioned keeping both with us, I never considered this, but for at least the first trip with wrist bands this sounds like good advise. I did the math years ago and as long as yo
