Gwen, how is the foot doing?  I iamgine you are looking around your house and seeing all sorts of things that you want to get done now that you are home.  Ignore them and rest that foot!  <3

Thank you for thinking of me, Marty!  Maybe 10% of the swelling has gone down.  Still very painful and getting blacker by the day.  I've always had ugly, fat feet, but this is so bad it's comical!

There's no way I can do anything around the house, so I'm not even worrying about it.  David is slowly getting the motorhome unpacked.  I feel sorry for him because he's having to do it all himself. and it's frustrating him.  He doesn't even know where I pack a lot of things away, so I'm having to tell him what needs to be unpacked first and where to find it.

Just heard 300  - 700 - 1600 - 1700 - 1800 - 1900 are shut down. But haven't seen with my own eyes to know if it's true. I think they  said due to flooding.

I'm not surprised about 700.  When we left there last Wednesday morning, the road and several sites were already flooding from all the rain we had.  Can't imagine how bad it must be now.

  3. Well, my interest in football has come and gone today.  I have to admit I did watch about half of the NC State / Notre Dame game.  Mainly I was curious about how it would be to play during a hurricane.  Was happy to see State win.

Check into replacing it with a residential refrigerator and a bigger inverter. You coach should have the battery capacity for your overnight Cracker Barrel/ Flying J stops when traveling. Probably cost you about $1,500 for that.  We love our residential fridge.

    Thanks.  Will check into it.

Hope you get better soon.  If it's a NORCOLD they have a metal hinge bracket for the doors that failed.  Had the same issue on the SENECA.

No, it's a Dometic.  The metal hinge bracket didn't fail.  It was the pin that holds the door into the bracket.  The pin is metal but is enclosed in heavy plastic.  The pin bent and ripped out the plastic when the door fell the first time.  David straightened the pin and gorilla glued the plastic back together. This time the pin bent again and ripped out more plastic We can't even find all the pieces.  Dometic says they can't replace the pin.  It's a 14-year-old fridge, but it is still working great and I really don't want to spend $4,000 replacing it.

    that's awesome!!

While I won't miss WWW, just found today that our company closes a week for Christmas, and unless I have an active effort to work, I have to use leave for that week, so it will be a few years now before I can expect to have a long Halloween vacation again.

    Sorry, Carol.  That stinks.

Splurge on the $1 or $2 gel packs.  You can reuse them, and they wont frostbite your skin.  They are covered in cloth, and since they don't freeze solid like a regular ice chest gel pack, you can mold them to fit.

Thanks for the info.  I'll ask David to check them out next time he goes to WM.

Hasn't the fridge door on your MOHO broken before??

Yes, it did.  4-5 years ago.  When we got home David patched it up.  Not sure it can be salvaged again.  Probably will have to buy a new unit.

Wal Mart has the non freezing gel packs for a little over $2, and Dollar Tree has smaller ones for $1.

I found the Wal Mart ones before my tendon operation since I didn't want to pay $9 apiece from Walgreens.

I rotate two of then on my incision site when my arm starts swelling.

I was cheap.  Bought a pack of frozen green peas.

    What Kristie said.^^

Just got back from the orthopedist.  He feels sure I do have a fracture that's not showing up on the x-rays.  The only way to confirm it is with an MRI, and it's not worth the expense. So the first of the week when some of the swelling subsides I have to get either a cast or a boot on it.  Right now I'm using ice packs and a walker.

  11. Getting ready to leave. By the time we get the golf cart loaded and tied down, it will probably be 10:15 or so before we are on the road.  Not too concerned about 95.  Beckers' DH has reported so far so good.  But he is several hours north of us by now.

The big question is 26.  That stretch of interstate is a real pain even on a good day.  With much of the coast being evacuated, 26 eastbound will probably be reversed this afternoon.

And then there's the Atlanta route.  It will add 100 miles to our trip.

What to do, what to do.  Shutting down computer and packing it away now.

They've started mandatory evacuations for Wednesday along the Outer Banks. My guess is I-95 is going to be a mess no matter where you are on it. Although longer it might be less stress to take  I-75 to Atlanta then I-85 to the Triad.

I just told David what you said.  75 will add at least 100 miles to our trip.  Will look at the traffic situation in the morning.  Trying to get out of here as early as possible.
