  1. I agree with TCD.  There's no place I'd rather be.

We've been visiting WDW since 1976.  Yes, we've seen a huge amount of changes.  And, as others have said, some of the changes are good, others are bad.  Overall my feeling is that the changes at the Fort are good.  It's the parks that I have mixed emotions about.  Are they as clean as they were 40 years ago?  Definitely no.  Is Disney allowing too many people into the parks?  Definitely yes.  I greatly dislike having to plan my meals 180 days out and having to get FP+ for the attractions and the restaurants we could walk right into years ago.  Yes, the attitude of many CMs has changed for the worse.

But we are fortunate to be at the point in our lives where we can be at the Fort for 4 weeks or more on each trip.   A few disappointments won't mar our overall experience because there are so many great things to explore.  We are counting down the days until our next trip.

Gabe and his travel team are participating in the Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champions in Suwanee, GA, this weekend.  There are 80 17U teams in the mix.  I don't have high hopes for them.  Mainly because I don't know much about his travel team.

Gabe's team came in fourth place (lost in the semifinals), which is really good considering the caliber of talent at the tournament.

Tomorrow he heads to Orlando to play in the AAU Memorial Day Classic.

Well, here I am with my own fridge problem. After the Fort trip last month, the campaer has been sitting since the 16th of April.  Went to get it loaded for this weekends camping trip and turned on the fridge Tuesday night. Came back two days later and no cooling taking place, but the elements were both working and hot respectively.

So I did what I did last year, disconnected all of the lines and wires, laid out some moving blankets on the camper floor and took the fridge out of its spot. I rolled it over back and forth, tapped the coils in various spots, let it sit for a few minutes and reinstalled right before hitting the road this afternoon. Inside temp was 85 when I left the house,  now at 45 degrees and falling.

Worth a try if your goes on the blink in the future before shelling out for a cooling unit.

Good advice.  Our fridge is 15 years old, and I'm worried it will go out any time.  Our fridge went out in the Airstream at about 18 years.  We tried the same thing with it, but we couldn't revive it.  My biggest concern is that we'll not be able to replace our moho fridge with a new unit with the same dimensions ... just like we couldn't with the Airstream.  And that the wood door trim won't fit the new unit.  I'm thinking we'll probably try to replace parts and keep the old one going as long as possible.  Would rather spend $1,000 reviving the old unit than $2,000+ buying a new side by side that doesn't fit right.

It is very different not having a dog with us.  Walks in the morning and evening were part of our routine tied in with a few dog park, visits.

It's been nearly a year since we lost our sweet Kassie.  Were at the fort in September without her, and it was difficult.  We still really miss her.  I feel your pain.

  6. Gabe and his travel team won the Big Shots Peach Classic in Atlanta this weekend, but that's not saying much.  The competition was so bad that they won their first game by 51 points.

He will play travel ball with his Atlanta-based team in May and July, including two trips to Orlando to play at Wide World of Sports.  June (a no-event month nationally) will be spent in SC with his Dorman team.  July is a critical month for him and and will really affect the offers he receives.  In late August he will move back to SC to start practice with his Dorman team and will live there until mid-March.  This schedule is a killer for his family.
