  1. Well it was a fun afternoon. Now I hope I can post these pictures. The boxes weigh close to 70 pounds The tarp comes later, we got ahead of ourselves The center dome Bedroom dens 2 and 3
  2. We are done setting it up. It actually went very well . The time 4.11 PM. NO fights . My oldest daughter and I did all the prep work and then my husband came back home. Had to leave to help a neighbor. Had to stop to take care of son with low blood sugar. Had to stop to drag boys out of the house and one stop for a drink. Just wish that was something stronger than a Coke! Got lots of great pictures. Yes The Thing Is HUGE. Its new name is "The MOAT". Any guesses for what that stands for...... :)
  3. No video but we will take some pictures. The time is 2.33 and I just put the boxes out side. Gonna see how long this takes for the first time. Pictures later!!
  4. Where would you buy dry ice? I never thought of that. Does it really help?
  5. I posted this on a different thread here. Found this on you tube. This tent is one extra room larger. The 5 bedroom model. LOL. A bit overwhelming. The best part is each "room" is independent and can be omitted if not needed. So when we get to the Fort and it won't fit we will eliminate one room and set it up elsewhere and use it for storage if needed. It is going to be so nice to actually have room for all of us and our gear. Check out the quick link here. Again not ours but I believe it is similar. Woo Hoo!! Now to put the thing together . Yikes  This ought to be a goo
  6. lUV'N IT! Great pictures and report. How nice it is when it's not so crowded.
  7. Spring Consignment sales are starting now. They are very popular around here. All of the pre schools have them. Our Multiples club has our this weekend. You can always find a good deal at one. Pick one up there. We have an old Greco that will still fit my 65 pound son. He has mild CP and after walking for several hours he tends to seize up in his calf muscels and needs a break. It folds up pretty easy and light. Make sure it has a bottom basket for your park supplies.
  8. It's 12.20 AM and I want to open the box!! Maybe tomorrow...just to peek.
  9. We also take water bottles for everybody. We bring the flavor packs too. Bought the bottle lanyards a few years ago and we still use them now when we go for hikes or the zoo. Everybody gets a bottle and they can refill it from the water fountains in the park. I am grossed out by public fountains so I try to find a remote one, I like the ones closer to the first aide stations, and I usually clean the fountain before I let the kids fill their bottles. My son has autism and this lanyard came in handy too to carry his new Disney pal. We found that he behaved better at the parks if he br
  10. Thank You!! The new tent is still in the box in my hallway! The boxes are so heavy!!! LOL! I want to open it just to look today but we will have to wait until the weekend to set it up. Big rain coming in today thru tomorrow at least. Thanks for the info. I really had no idea and the instructions in our last tent said to seal the seams and waterproof. No directions on "how to do". We'll get a chance to use it in just a couple of weeks...spring break soon.
  11. OK, my DH may already know, but he's asleep. :-[ embarassed to ask this but.....We never sealed our other tent and we have never had a problem, not even a drop of water. Our new tent, still in the box, I'm guessing should be sealed. How do you water proof it? Like I said we have never pre-sealed a tent and we've never had a problem, even with little fingers touching the inside of the tent. The new tent is so big I don't want to risk it. Do we set it up and let the hose go to see if it leaks or will that ruin the attempt to seal if we need to seal it? TIA!!
  12. With the storms coming in the next 2 days we'll have to wait until the weekend to set it up. I will post pictures too. Roz, They have a smaller version and I even saw a larger 5 bedroom model. I posted a link somewhere else here with a youtube tour of that one. I can't wait to set it up. :rofl2:
  13. Well it has made it's journey from Australia and has been delivered to my front door! The boxes are very heavy. I think the tent bag when full will be close to 70 pounds, if I remember reading correctly. This thing will be 26x21 when set up, if we use all 4 sleeping tents. The good news is when we get to the fort and it doesn't fit we don't have to have them all attached. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&_trksid=p4340.l2557&rt=nc&nma=true&item=220741467697&si=cSJygyMPvJAsMAxmgWYc5uyKcVw%253D&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT :rofl2: :rofl2
  14. Our school schedule is finnally out for next year. Our kids will only miss 4 days the week we are down for Halloween. My crew will be doing school work while we are away too. I wish I could say missing school would be easy for them but only 1 of my 5 has it "easy" and can keep up rather easily. The other 4 struggle at times. I am worried about my oldest. Next year will be her first year in middle school. Things move faster, I am sure, but she requires so much one on one time and the motivation is just not there. They will not miss any testing, the end of the first quarter is the week b
  15. The family loves their brats steamed in beer. Serve it with cooked onions and peppers with honey mustard....oh I know what will be on the menu one night this week! Oh and this is when I splurge on the better rolls to put them on. Now hotdogs, on the grill slightly to moderate burnt, on a bun with mustard katchup, cheese and pickle. Anybody from the Lehigh Valley PA? I miss Pott's Dogs in Bethlehem or Yacco's in Emmaus. :rofl2:
  16. Having a family of 7 we have to call in. I have not used a travel agent in the past. I like to talk so calling in is fine with me!
  17. Ok this is from my then 6 year old son with Autism. He didn't talk much especially in puplic. I was in my van following behind my parents car on the Blue Route in Philadelphia when my Dad's car needed a repair shop and fast...his steering belt broke. Scary. We ended up at some Pep Boys in front of a WalMart. Mom and I took 4 of the kids to walk around WalMart while Pop Pop and one of the boys stayed with the car. Well my son sees a couple of women walking down toward us and he points up at them and say "Look Mom Ninja Moms!" Yes they were in full black burkas.
  18. Tell him not to worry, there is 2 comfort stations per loops, we can surely work out a schedule  Can you imagine the looks on the faces of the campers during TOT if we all went together?? LOL Priceless! I don't remember there being a second comfort station in 1500? We could work out a schedule. Still sounds like fun!!! We could have our own walking/CG parade for ToT.
  19. Welcome..... now go get some Purple paint!!! LOL We'll forgive you this time but purple is it! :doublebeer::banana:
  20. We're there Oct 31 thru Nov 6. We arrive on the 30. If they let us add the day on we will, no luck yet. We'll have to meet up. We are tent campers too. Check out the GG thread. That would be awesome, my 5, your 5, her 6.. that's a bunch of little bananas, we def deserve our own loop!! :doublebeer:                Wow! I don't get the opportunity to be around other big families! That would be cool!!! I can see the kids line up picture now. LOL! Hoping for the 1500 L
  21. Love it..... a tent with Slides! Making the payment as soon as my calls slow down. Should have it in the next 2 weeks. Might just have to do some backyard camping!
  22. I need to getto a computer that I can upload pictures and figure out how to do it! I just asked my Mom to send any she finds. It's a shame the camera they had was aweful!! And what she may have considered picture worthy I dunno!
