Truck suggestions
TnBob replied to Cortezcapt (Derek)'s topic in Camper Suggestions: from tents to Class A beauties
This is what you got out of all my typing? Did you notice I said Hitch UP area? He and his wife (I am presuming it was his wife here) were struggling to get the bars hooked up. When I come in I always pull into the UNhitch area and take my bars off, makes for less noise when I back in. Since you have the same hitch I do, you know what I mean. The line Sunday checking out was well past the 4 way stop. -
Truck suggestions

I have to say, I have never seen a bigger idiot than the guy I saw in the hitch up area at the fort the other day when I was coming in. He had a 1/2 ton truck (I forget the make since it didn't matter) with a golf cart in the back (6 ft bed) and about 26 ft camper hitched up to it. He had 4 inch blocks under the rear tires of the cart to clear the tongue jack. He didn't need power steering since the back of the truck was no more than 10 inches off the asphalt and the front end was high in the air. This is the kind of guy you don't want to be anywhere near on the road doing 45 let alone 60 or 6 -

TnBob replied to geoffdaddy's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
I agree with TDC (can't believe it but I do) I did 75 the other day and had no problem at all. BTW I like the Dothan route too and I have no family anywhere near there. -

We had Direct for a few yrs a long time ago and went to cable for some reason that I forget, when we moved into our last house we again got cable. When we got the first camper we were getting one of the camping mags and there was an add that if you went with Directv they would give you another dish and a tripod. We went back to direct and got the tripod and extra dish to keep in the camper and we just take a reciever out of the house and wa La we have Direct in the camper. When we sold the house I kept 2 recievers and got a Sattelite splitter (different from a regular splitter) and pulled the -

Stove vent flap flapped away!
TnBob replied to Cortezcapt (Derek)'s topic in RV Repairs on the Road, at FW and Elsewhere
yours must have wanted to join at least one of mine along the road, I have replaced ours at least 5 times in the last 8 years. Not all are made equal, some are flat against the base and air can get under it, break the whojiggies and off it comes. The last one I bought is recessed inside a lip surounding the flap, haven't lost it yet then again I haven't forgot to latch the whojiggies in a while although a bug buzzed me while I was washing the rig and I jumped and broke a piece off the overhang part.
