I have to agree with Dave, Defeated Creek is a beautiful and well maintained capground, I have to make that my #2 also, that doesn't sound right, my second favorite campground. For my pictures just take Dave's and move them over about 30 feet and put a tree in.

Yeller flies is one of the reason the GG at Stone Mnt came into being, my wife, the charming and delightful MrsTnBob refused to go in May anymore because of the yeller flies. Twice in a row she got bit several times as soon as she got out of the truck, both times she wound up at the Urgent Care clinic with her having oozing bites. They were so bad on her feet she could hardly walk, so although May is a great time (crowd wise) to be at the fort, its no good for us. It is just not something she wants to go through again, nor do I.

There office closes at 5 or so if I remember so you need to call and they will leave the packet out side for you or the ranger will meet ya. I forget what exit it is but it is the same one for Ocala North Campground (never stayed there) and then it is about 3 or 4 straight miles to the campground. Then it is about an hour and a half to the fort from there. it seems my link isn't working, its is Grand Lake

I would say, to answer your question I would ask for 1700 first then 1600 then 1800, if they give you a site in the 1900 tell them to shove it up their nose.

I think it all depends on who is getting it for you, Kathy eats white and I only eat dark so I tell them no wings and a little more dark than white. If you read the other thread like Mo posted, it should give you enough info to go on. Fishing isn't really my thing unless I am at the fort, then its a hook, weight and chicken skin(breaded). I don't fish anywhere else except the fort. It is just enjoyable and peaceful to stand on the dock and dunk the hook in the water. Any kind of bait will work, hot dogs work best although they are hard to keep on the hook. I hope you have a good time but don't expect throphy fishing unless you want to pay for an excursion.
