Look at it this way, you have to leave now or at the rate he's going Z will be driving, or possibly flying a plane, soon. Thanks for the great Trip Report. Looks like a wonderful vacation destination. -
OT: Harry Potter Lands Update - Universal Orlando
Seals replied to BradyBzLyn...Mo's topic in WDW and Disney Park Discussions
Wow. Something like MagiQuest would add a whole other dimension to the park. Sell the wands plus people would stay longer. My boys loved MagiQuest when they were in the 8-12 age range.- 224 replies

Yes, I am looking forward to (window*) shopping there some day. I love (looking at*) Vera Bradley products. So I guess you could say 1,000 healthy camels couldn't keep me away. If everything has to be judged in terms of camels and their health status, which apparently it does. *words that can be omitted if I win the lottery

Musical Mugs at Animal Kingdom
Seals replied to BradyBzLyn...Mo's topic in WDW and Disney Park Discussions
I like it! And I bet the price rises to at least $14.99 shortly. $11.99 seems way too low for Disney.- 34 replies

Unfortunately it's time to go
Seals replied to VolfanTim's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
We have found that our car develops a turning problem and can't make the proper turn toward the exit. So we usually make a quick stop at the Meadow Trading Post for one last look around and possibly a last souvenir. Even so, it's rarely a "magical day." -
from the web site. I also did just find a mention of "10 minute drive to the Magic Kingdom" although it should probably say ride since I'm sure someone else will be doing the driving, at least they would if I stayed there. "Disney Character Breakfast Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort is excited to offer the “Good Morning Breakfast with Goofy and his Pals” character breakfast, twice weekly at Ravello restaurant. The buffet-style breakfast will be offered on Thursdays and Saturdays, and also on Tuesdays during peak school break periods, and will feature a wonderful assortm

I haven't been able to find anything on the Four Seasons - Orlando web site that says a 10 minute walk to the Magic Kingdom. There is a line that says "minutes from the Magic Kingdom." I did find several reviews of the Contemporary Resort/Bay Lake Tower on TripAdvisor that say 10-minute walk to the MK. It's possible the junior Travel+Leisure writer assigned to write the Best Family Getaway 2014 entry #7 did not know the difference and used that information.

At first I thought I must have read it wrong, but as you confirmed I didn't. And I'm not sure one could make it from that luxury suite to the limo, with one's precious children who are experiencing their rite of passage, in 10 min. It would take some children 10 min just to walk to the elevator. However, if one reads that article and then books a room at the Four Seasons and then finds out it's not true. Well, they already have your money. And how much does one have to spring for those VIP passes and personal princess brunches? They do put 4 $ though, so one has been warned.

Live from Topsail Hill... The Good, The Bad, and The Flooding
Seals replied to GaDawgFan.....Kelly's topic in Trip Reports
I was going to say Z + water = happy! But now I have to add Z + pancake = happy! And that pancake looks as big as his head. I've never been to Topsail Hill but last summer we drove through that area and spent 1/2 day at Grayton Beach and I was very impressed. I'd never been through that part of FLA before. Very pretty. -
From the June 2014 issue of Travel+Leisure magazine in a list of 10 family vacation experiences, #6 is Live the Fairy Tale and mentions WDW and Efteling, Netherlands: “A trip to Disney World is a rite of passage for kids, but it can come with its fair share of headaches. The new Four Seasons Resort Orlando will provide some relief. Just a 10-minute walk from the Magic Kingdom, the 444-room property has hourly shuttles to the four parks, but special appearances by Goofy and friends at breakfast mean there’s no rush to see your favorite buddies. Bonus: a Disney concierge is on hand to get you

Enjoying the pictures of England and Ireland. And funny that I'm so used to seeing pictures of your daughters in Florida clothes that my first thought was "I wonder if she bought those boots and sweater for her trip."

Columbia is the capital of South Carolina. You may also have no desire to go there, although when I lived there I enjoyed it. But you cannot reach it by cruise ship. Dave's photos are of Colombia. We are learning a lot about geography in this TR so I thought I'd point out the difference in spelling.

I'm really enjoying all the ship photos and the cultural and historical information. I like WDW trip reports too but it's wonderful to see a part of the world I've never seen (which sadly includes most of the world outside the US). I especially liked this: I've never understood calling something a once in a lifetime experience because you never know and if I enjoyed it I'd be immediately thinking of a way to do it again by redefining it (west to east, it's a totally different experience).

Wow! Those are some beautiful pictures. $4.49 for one doughnut???

ADR tricks or tips? I've had no luck
Seals replied to WannaBeImagineer's topic in Dining Reviews and Information
I haven't booked ADRs but last year I did try for months to book Thanksgiving week at the Fort and could only get Saturday to Wednesday (even trying all the book extra days tricks). Then those day finally becmae available -- the Wednesday before (once the 5 day cancellation kicked in). By that time we had a camper rental only for Sat-Tues and reservations at the Dolphin for Wed and Thurs nights. If you can make an easily cancellabe contingency reservation and don't mind waiting to the last minute it might work out that way for you this year. Very frustrating, though. -

A Shining New Era is Tiptoeing Nearer for the TCD Gang
Seals replied to Tri-Circle-D's topic in Trip Reports
One twin goes to Paris/London and the other one gets to live at WDW? I'd say it's great to be TCD twins. And possibly, page 1 which would be AWESOME because I've never been on p. 1 of a trip report before, except my own. But I also never really try because all those other people seem to get such pleasure out of being on p. 1 and I am content to be on p. whatever. LOL -- Hit post and I see I'm on page 2. Toy Story Midway Mania - High Point Tips
Seals replied to BradyBzLyn...Mo's topic in WDW and Disney Park Discussions
I randomly move the gun around and fire in all directions hoping to hit something. Then, and this is the key, at the end I complain that my gun must have been broken and I should have gotten a much higher score.- 31 replies

That is really nice. Enjoyed your Trip Report and glad to see that kayaking has won a new fan.

Enjoying your TR. Congratulations on low wait times. I don't think that happens much any more. Love the ZZ Top photo. Spanish moss is so versatile. Now I'm wondering what the picture is on the t-shirt with the Gingerbread Gone Bad caption. Got stuck in that DC area traffic one time with 3 kids under the age of 5 after we'd already been on the road for 5 hours and they were not happy campers in their car seats. We got pulled over after I ordered DH to drive on the shoulder to the next exit. Luckily the cop saw how frazzled I was and just followed us to the exit where we got off and let them run

Brilliant, Disney. Guaranteed to increase demand many times over. Who wants to be the parent whose kid doesn't have the merchandise. Well, I would but thankfully I have teenage boys so this is one they won't have to feel left out on because Mom refuses to stand in line/ pay full price. I wonder where the merchandise is made. And how long before it fills the sale bins.

OT: Harry Potter Lands Update - Universal Orlando
Seals replied to BradyBzLyn...Mo's topic in WDW and Disney Park Discussions
With no disloyalty to my first love (WDW) I have to say I'm really looking forward to seeing this. I'm not a huge HP fan, but my 3 DSs were/are and after hearing numerous discussions among them and their friends I read all the books and watched many of the movies a couple of years ago. I love that they are re-creating so many things from the books/movies so that one can actually live in the HP world for a time. We've been to the first area twice and although I thought it was too small, I was very impressed. We will likely go see the new part after the initial crowds die down.- 224 replies
