  1. That would be the third city -- Lake Buena Vista. Which reminds me of something we fell for in New Orleans last year when a man offered to tell us where we got our shoes if we gave him $1. Apparently this is one of the oldest tricks in the book but I didn't know it and I appreciated his variation on the usual panhandling so I let him tell us.
  2. Lake Buena Vista City of Bay Lake (look down under your feet when you're there)
  3. We boycott our local PJ because a few years ago when DH went in to pick up pizzas he saw someone had written on his receipt "old guy with 3 kids". He was most definitely not amused. Thus, the Seals family boycott (except I've been known to take my kids there when they get PJ coupons for free pizza for having good grades. If DH finds out I explain that I didn't actually give them any $ so the boycott still stands).
  4. I believe this is the first time I've posted on p.1 of a TR (pause for fanfare music). And I did so to say, I like your title since every time someone posts about BLT, I think of food. Hope you have a wonderful trip.
  5. "After all, it’s warm and sunny much of the year in Central Florida! Now Olaf – and many of you – will be pleased to hear that due to popular demand, “Frozen Summer Fun” is being extended through September 28!" And then on October 1, "Frozen Winter Fun" begins! Cash cow.
  6. Eno hammocks are the rage with all age groups. All 3 of my boys have them and sleep in them on boy scout camping trips. They have done a stack of 3 -- I didn't know there was a contest or I would have taken a picture for it. I even have one that was a hand me down from my older son. He had a single one, then got a double one plus the fancier straps for his birthday. Then he wanted a rainfly so I got him that in exchange for him giving me his single one and basic straps. Now he wants the bug net also. I wish I had stock in that company.
  7. Even if I had a washer and dryer I think I'd just check out a clean and pressed uniform. Who wants to have to do more laundry than necessary at any time and particularly at Disney. Yeah, I remembered the part about the 2 weeks because it seemed so unlikely. She was really excited about it. I feel sorry for her when she finds out the truth. But I hope she does get to go back.
  8. I'm curious about the CM outfits with her working in so many locations. Does she get them when she's assigned a working location and then return them? Or does she get to keep them? How does all that work? Also, we were staying at a hotel in Bangor, Maine last month and the young woman working at the desk had just finished the Disney College Program. While I was sitting in the lobby she was going on and on to someone checking in about how wonderful it was and how she wished she could go back. She said she had mostly worked at Wilderness Lodge. She also said that she'd heard that as long as sh
  9. Or Fruit Loops and non-Fruit Loops (or Fruit Loop loops and non-Fruit Loop loops)?
  10. So, is Elena available for rent? ummm, I mean, how horrible that must have been for you!I like Tom Sawyer Island for kids 5 - 10 ish range when there are gaps in the touring plan and they need to run around and explore for a while. And I like watching BTMRR from there. I agree that it would be a good place for a character meet.
  11. Back to topic! I like Maelstrom. I like that it is about Norway folklore (isn't it?). It's not about a Disney movie. But I guess that explains itself for the change.
  12. A Facebook friend's daughter, named Anna, has been dressing as a Norwegian princess and appearing at children's parties. Meet Princess Anna (no copyright infringement). A great way to earn $ for college. Jump on the bandwagon while you can. There appears to be a lot of $ to be spent.
  13. Wow! I was on the monorail one time during a lightening store and it stopped once and I was trying not to panic. Two of my biggest fears are lightening storms and heights. My kids, of course, were joking about how they would get down. So in case this ever happens to me I have to ask - were there any bodies that had to be passed by hand up and down through the cars because the person was too freaked out to move?
  14. BLTN BR ! (that's better late than never bragging rights!). I was away for two weeks and there was so much activity on FF.net that it will take me a loooong time to catch up. I'm enjoying your Mom and son getaway. I have a number of friends who are teachers and I envy their summers off (although I know you all make up for it the rest of the year). You are so right that although he may not remember it when he's older, you will cherish the memories forever. And you have lots of pictures to show him to remind him. Looking forward to hearing more about the Frozen premium package since that's not
  15. Wow -- sooooooooo beautiful. I've never been to Hawaii but if I did (commence dreaming), that's where I would stay. I don't think I could tear myself away to leave. How long did you cry? Also enjoyed your tour of SF. I went there once a long time ago (before Full House so those were just regular houses) and I'd like to go back again.
  16. I'm reading this thinking I'd never pay for this. Then I remember how much money I shelled out a few years ago so my boys could ride on a train that looked like Thomas the Tank Engine. Not once but twice. And I realize I probably would.
  17. Our family favorites that weren't Harry Potter (and I don't do big coasters either) were Spider Man, Men In Black and Simpsons. Others near the top were Despicable Me (although it is frantically fast), Cat in the Hat and Shrek. Disaster was fun but takes a while. I'm not a fan of the Terminator movies but if you are you might like that. We also enjoyed the Animal Show and also the Horror Make Up Show. For the make up show we had a really funny person doing it plus he picked one of my DSs for the running joke. There are a lot of fun things to do and see just walking around. Check out the Se
  18. Could you have gone in the pools at that hour if you wanted to? What about the rock wall? Is the track open 24/7? The ship looks huge, especially the adult pool area. Makes me think of a floating luxury hotel. Ok, I guess it is. My only cruise experience is the Dream and I didn't feel that way on that ship. Thanks for this TR. I'm weighing Disney vs. RCCL for our next cruise so I'm paying close attention. I'm mainly considering RCCL because of price, although also thinking whether my teen boys are too "old" for Disney cruise and would find more to do on another ship. Does bungee / rock wall
  19. Marketing genius. But Mommy now we HAAAAAVE to go to DHS. I want to see Anna/Elsa/Olaf (and maybe Kristoff?). And we have to be there for the Royal Welcome and the sing along and the dance party and the fireworks. So we HAAAAAVE to stay an extra day.
  20. Great decision to join here and to do a TR. Looking forward to more. Love the pic of your sister in her Mickey dress -- very cute.
  21. Your extremely cute girls are still a little young, but one of my road trip tactics when my boys were little was to withhold tv/videos/DVDs for a few days before the trip so they were even more ready to stare slack jawed at a screen for an extended period of time.
  22. My philosophy is that if an itinerary fits your schedule best, ignore the crowd calendar. If you are very flexible then the crowd calendar can be consulted but you still need to make your own decision. With morning EMH and you are going in the morning it gives you more opportunity to do things if you get there before it opens. And you are going during a less crowded time in general so I really wouldn't worry about it. You will have a wonderful time.
  23. Wow! I was at the Fort in July 1977. I looked and enlarged them but didn't see 15 yr old me in my red one piece swimsuit at River Country. It was so cool to see it as it was then to enhance my memories. I used to remember being in a train somewhere that stopped at a water tank but didn't realize until recently that it was at the Fort. Your picture shows what I was remembering. Looking forward to seeing more.
  24. My 2cents: Safari Asia animal trail (has a name?). I think it's better than the other one unless you really like gorillas Expedition Everest if you like big drop coasters (I don't, my kids do) Dinosaur - to me this ride is very "Disney". It twists and shakes, it has a story. it's dark, there are big dinosaurs. It's Tough To Be a Bug. Festival of the Lion King - I prefer to Nemo. But Nemo is good too. Kali River Rapids is ok if you need a get-wet ride. it's usually a long wait and then disappointingly not a long ride. Primeval Whirl is ok but nothing special if you are pressed for time.
