Enjoying your trip report but I'm also a little fascinated by your Ubering. I've heard of it but don't know anyone who does it. I just assumed it was a good way to get killed, but apparently not. Who are the drivers (college student types or retirees?)? I would think around WDW that would be a good way to make a good bit of extra $. Do they limit how many people can drive in a particular area or let the market determine?

I just recently sold this Pinocchio live action DVD at a yard sale. I don't think my kids watched it more than once. Personally Pinocchio in live version has always creeped me out. I seem to remember one on tv in the 1960s. Then there's this classic version with Sandy Duncan, Danny Kaye and Flip Wilson. And a slight variation called Gepetto with Drew Carey in the title role. Can't see why they need to re-do it in live version again .

Which Universal hotel???
Seals replied to h2odivers...Ray's topic in Off Property Rentals (Non Disney)
Cabanas does not come with Front of the Line passes like the other 3. We've stayed at Royal Pacific twice (least expensive of the 3 that offer FOL passes) and thought it was very relaxing. -
I have no issue with them following the safety procedures after stopping the ride and definitely getting all the passengers off the ride. My issue is that the riders who didn't do anything wrong have to go to the back of the line and wait all over again if they want to ride. It seems they could send the bonehead to the exit and let the others wait somewhere where they can be the next to ride when it starts up again.

Seriously?? -- punish the whole group for the actions of one person. As my kids know, this makes me apoplectic (one of my favorite words). That would not have gone over well.

Welcome To WDW 1970's/ 80's and 90's
Seals replied to Discamper's topic in WDW and Disney Park Discussions
Hmmmm. Good question. I'm not certain. I was assuming. They're both from the same set of slides as the ones of the MK. The top slide is #12 and the first one of the MK I have is #14. The bottom "Fort" one is #9 and now that I look at it, it doesn't seem to be the same campsite as the top one. Possibly only the top one is the Fort?? I'm pretty sure we took the AutoTrain to and from Florida and I don't think we would have camped two different places in Florida, although it's possible. It's also possible we camped in Virginia the night before we went on the Auto Train. Or it could have been -
Welcome To WDW 1970's/ 80's and 90's

I'm hoping I did. I have the guide and map from the Fair which I found when we cleared out the attic of my parents' house before selling it, but I don't remember anything about going. Likely I spent most of my time running around and paid no attention to anything. -

Wow! That is cool. I did some quick Googling to see if I could find out what happened to the dinosaurs and I read about Paul Jonas but not where they are now. Thanks. I wonder if I could convince my brother to take a road trip and we could re-create our photo. He could hang on the fence instead of the chain. I definitely move slower these days so I wouldn't be blurred. -
So adorable. It's been a long time since I've thought of Yogi Bear and I don't remember his details. Who is Cindy? Those blocks do look like a lot of fun. Sounds like you had a nice weekend.

Welcome To WDW 1970's/ 80's and 90's

A few old MK and Fort slides I recently found and scanned. Easter/April 1974: outside 20,000 Leagues (big stroller haters, note the 1970s era stroller and the kid who doesn't realize how oppressed he is for not having a cup holder, fan, canopy, reclining seat, etc.) and the Fort from the same trip: I love how this photo captures my Dad trying to restrain my younger brother. Good memories, along with tent and tarp we used on many a camping trip. And a bonus, my older brother and I (children at left) at the 1964/65 NY World's Fair, probably in mid to late 1965 based on my -
I was going to guess this also. But this makes a lot more sense.

Other attractions near the Fort besides Disney
Seals replied to Travisma's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
Google maps says it's 1 hr 45 min. away so maybe a little far for a day trip from the Fort, but we've enjoyed Homosassa Springs State Park both times we've been there. Who doesn't love manatees? https://www.floridastateparks.org/park/Homosassa-Springs -
Great idea. This would make an excellent kids book -- adventure, excitement, kindness, THE FORT ! and a cute cat. I could see a picture of Spot sitting on the top of Mickey's coonskin cap (or maybe instead of the cap with his tail hanging off like the cap's tail).

It really is Disney's fault as much as the rudeness of guests. That "soccer Mom" 's statement is very telling. (My son plays soccer so I do need to use quotation marks with that term that is used in a derogatory manner to brand all of us (and I drive a minivan so just go ahead and categorize me there too!).) There are a lot of observations about how people think Fastpass means "I get to go to the front of the line" no matter how many people actually have the fastpass and there is no way all of them can be in the front of the line. Fastpasses for things like fireworks is even more ridiculous.

Location! Location! Location?
Seals replied to BradyBzLyn...Mo's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
We've tent camped 3 times in 2000, rental popup one time in 2000 and stayed in a cabin in 100. Nothing beats the convenience of 100! But we didn't have problems in 2000 even when there were large groups there. They didn't intrude on our experience, they were just there. But we spent most of the days away from the site just using it to sleep, get ready and eat breakfast. The three times we were in the sites closes to the entrance to 2000, I thought those were quieter. But the one time we were at the far end of the loop we could walk through the group campsite and over the bridge and throu- 24 replies

Disney Hollywood Studios Name Changing Again
Seals replied to BradyBzLyn...Mo's topic in WDW and Disney Park Discussions
Ok, that makes sense. I interpreted "properties" to mean physical properties (parks) but further research shows that other articles used the word "movies." That prompted me to think I remembered Walt smoking in Saving Mr. Banks but I found this on Wikipedia: Although the filmmakers did not receive any creative interference from Disney regarding Walt Disney's depiction, the studio did request that they omit any onscreen inhalation of cigarettes[36] due to the company's policy of not directly depicting smoking in films released under the Walt Disney Pictures banner, and to avoid an R-rating from- 32 replies

It's a Small World, George Clooney and screenplay by Lost writer and co-creator. I'm looking forward to this one.
