  1. I'll be moving in as soon as I get back from my cruise: http://www.fortfiends.net/forum/topic/16085-hurry-all-the-tickets-are-almost-gone/
  2. I probably shouldn't admit this, but each of our 5 family members kept $16 in Canadian $ as souvenirs from our trip there last summer. On the other hand, we didn't buy many other souvenirs, only a t-shirt each and a couple of postcards. I could see our family doing the same with Lego and Gringots $ as one-time souvenirs. So I guess we would be the marketing target. We also buy refillable mugs as souvenirs. But again, rarely do we buy anything else.
  3. Cool. I wish we could use it everywhere. U.S. money is boring.
  4. Your kids are young. Do they even know what Disney is, as in would they recognize they are "at Disney" vs anywhere else on vacation in that oblivious kid way? When my kids were 5 and almost 3 (x2) we took them on their first trip. The 5 yr old had a best friend who had been recently and he'd talked about it. We only told the kids we were going on vacation and had an overnight stay on the way. We were driving under the WDW entrance sign and the kids were preoccupied with a movie or something. I asked the 5 yr old if he would like to go to WDW and he said "maybe some time, but not right now.
  5. Dolly's resort does look beautiful but I was very disappointed looking at the website to find that most of the rooms, except a few of the most expensive, have a maximum occupancy of 4. I'm used to WDW's pricing out "large" families, but Dolly had 11 siblings herself so you'd think she'd have rooms to accomodate at least my "large" family of two adults and 3 children.
  6. All great pictures but especially this one. Very cute!
  7. At least someone has some creativity! Have there ever been twins as WDW ambassadors?
  8. They could always sell signed pillow cases, photo mattes, autograph books and other items in the gift shop and make some $$ off of it (not sure if Disney would be interested in that making money thing ). If one isn't actually interacting with the characters to get the autographs, it's pretty much the same thing.
  9. Were these the only questions? I'm wondering if there's some sort of connection between the two. If you frequent one of the unofficial Disney sites are you more likely to have a negative opinion. And, going even further, will there be some sort of "action" taken. Don't some of those site administrators get invited to certain special events? Or is that too far fetched a theory. It does seem strane how they asked those questions. Or maybe those who don't select the greedy answer get more emails with special perks.
  10. I'm not a big Duffy fan, but your daughter's obvious happiness in this photo makes me think he must be ok. Nice different sort of shot of the castle. Too cute! Looking forward to reading more of your adventures.
  11. So they don't have to be on your account to make the FP+ at the park? Does the FP+ at the park require you to log into your account or is it a separate system?
  12. I'd never heard of this site and just looked at it. I'm bookmarking it. We often don't have a lot of lead time for trips and this looks perfect for that. Thanks!
  13. I hate to be obtuse about how that FP+ hack works, but... So you make a room reservation with the names of actual people who are staying in the room and then you add additional fake people with their fake names and they send you MBs for them? But you would need to have rooms with occupancy for more people than you have. Not a problem with Fort campsite reservations but it would be if one were staying at another resort (we have 5 actual people). And then you add these fake people to your account for making FP+ reservations?
  14. What exactly is a "highly interactive color experience"? And this "Guests to the Colortopia exhibit will encounter unique interactions through fun and surprising hands-on activities."? Here's a can of brown paint and a sign post. Have at it.
  15. Family Circus comic strip had a tribute to Disneyland's 60th anniversary yesterday. (Yes, I'm old and still love the Sunday funnies.) https://www.facebook.com/115250268625247/photos/a.115250858625188.22441.115250268625247/543702215780048/?type=1
  16. Ice Palace Boutique Deluxe Package – This package includes an Anna or Elsa costume plus the items offered in the Ice Palace Boutique Package. Package retail: $240, includes tax. Olaf-inspired package that includes a glitter hairstyle and Olaf tee-shirt. Reservations are not required for this package and will only be available on-site at the location. Package retail: $19.95, plus tax. The juxtaposition of these made me laugh, but also a little sad.
  17. The other place at WDW that has animation drawing classes is Disney Quest. My husband has done several of them while the kids play. And....that's closing too.
  18. We saw it and liked it. From the previews I first saw a while ago I had no interest in seeing it. It seemed like a concept that couldn't go anywhere. My 16 yr old son saw it with his girlfriend and liked it and said he that he thought I'd like it too. And he was right. He was even willing to go back with us to see it again. I did notice the haunted music!
  19. When I was a kid growing up in NJ they filmed Jeopardy in NYC and my Dad was a big fan. For his birthday one year my brothers and I got him tickets for the family to see Jeopardy taped. So he got to pay for the whole family to take the train into NYC and then to feed us. He enjoyed it but frequently reminded us not to get him "free" tickets again!
  20. "The Wilderness Lodge bungalows will likely keep the rustic log cabin feel of Wilderness Lodge while providing modern amenities, such as full kitchens and washing machines, which DVC has come to be known for." At first I thought if I could afford a $3000/night room I'd certainly not want to do my own cooking or laundry. Then I realized that's for the convenience of the servants you travel with.
  21. "children eat like parents" -- what does that even mean? Usually there are kids foods because some children won't "eat like parents." I like that placemat. I guess they didn't sell them in the gift shop?
  22. Your family couldn't be any cuter! What happened when W got home and there were no chocolates on his bed every night?? On our 4-day Wonder cruise last December we had excellent service the first 3 nights. On the last night the waiter and assistant disappeared for a long stretch of time. We were joking that maybe they'd been fired or something. Finally they came back and told some story about when every waiter ends up recommending the same entree, which was what happened, the kitchen gets really backed up and they had to open another line and the wait staff had to help out. I dont' know if t
  23. This is just the most AWESOME story. Thank you for sharing it.
