I used to hate it when people said this, but it really depends on the 5 year old, like just turned 5 vs. almost 6. To me the worst violence is from the wolves attacking (even though to me they were obviously CGI wolves). If a child were afraid of dogs, I could see that being scary. And when the beast is shot. It is a dark movie. On the other hand, the songs and dancing would appeal to a 5 year old. I used to prep my kids a lot before "scary" movies by telling them exactly what might scare them. I've never eaten AT Bongos, but I've gotten food from their Express/Take-out window several times. I think time to come to pressure for the Instant Pot depends on whether you use frozen and also how much liquid. The other day I dumped in two packages of frozen Italian sausages, a can of diced tomatoes, some water and a bag of frozen peppers and onions. Is Tiki Birds one of the 10 attractions? Swiss Family Treeehouse? And i'ts a four hour tour. So you're dragging your "kids of all ages" all over the park in 4 hours.

You are probably much more chilled and skilled than I am, but personally I wouldn't take 4 kids including a 2 and 4 year old to Washington DC. Especially using public transportation. What about Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg/Great Smoky Mountain National Park? There are lots of threads about that location on this site and recommendations of campgrounds.

I like basketball, but personally you could shorten football games by about 2 hours and I'd be happy. My boys enjoyed Disney Quest but the last few times we went, which was several years ago, it seemed like more things were broken than working. I always found it dark, loud and headache inducing. The older one would probably like the NBA experience but I doubt would go more than once.

I'm going to jump in and say I think this looks handy. My microwave at home can heat a bowl of soup and still the bowl isn't too bad for taking out with my hands. But with the microwave at my work, the bowl can be burning hot while the soup inside is barely warm. I'm a klutz with potholders, personally, particularly the mitt type ones. I use Ove Gloves at home. I've been bringing a dish towel to work to wrap around my soup bowl and take it out of the microwave. I could see getting a few of these instead and then throwing them in the wash with my dish towels when they get dirty.

My general advice if you are by yourself is to stay at a motel with interior corridors and one that is easily accessible from the exit, especially if you are arriving late at night. We've stayed at the Comfort Inn and Suites in Walterboro, SC many times since we used to have family near there. Before discovering it we tried a number of other places there and I'd only recommend the Holiday Inn Express and Suites, although we've usually found it pricier than the Comfort Inn and Suites, and the Sleep Inn at exit 57. Late at night, I'd recommend exit 53, though. Also, do not stay in the Motel

That's funny because our first day at MK in September when I was randomly selected I noticed all the people randomly selected around me were my fellow 50 something or older women. I thought the selectors thought we were the least likely to resist. My 15 yr old son who was in another line didn't know the randomly selecting process so he just followed the person in front of him to the metal detectors. We teased him afterward about randomly selecting himself.

Reading along I was feeling very very sorry for your wife and was about to ask if she would get a do-over. I'm glad that she will. Our first Disney Cruise was a Dream 3-nighter and we drove 10 hours home the day we got off the ship to go back to school/work the next day, a Monday. It became a long week and the cruise feeling wore off very quickly. I vowed we wouldn't go again until we could do at least a 4-nighter with a rest day at the end. We did that with a 4-nighter on the Wonder after Christmas in 2014 and it was a much nicer experience.

I mostly only know 60s-80s music so that would be good for me. My family ALWAYS stays until the end of the credits. It's a weird thing my husband and I started long before kids and now my kids know if they go with us we're staying till the bitter end. It's actually become a family joke/quirk that we're usually the last ones to leave the theater. When my boys were younger they made it a game out of it by looking for their first names in the credits. Now they usually just pull out their phones to pass the time while they wait for the weird parents. I can't stand the before movie comm

Wow! that looks like fun. I so regret my boys thought they were too old for Legos by the time Legoland opened. We would definitely have gone there. And as someone who puts out MY Lego Christmas display each year, and is in love with Lego minifigures, I may end up going there some day without them just to see it.

Thanks for the review. My 18 yr old son and I had talked about seeing it since we saw the first trailer, and then after seeing about 3,000,000 trailers for it we were worried that it was one of those movies where we'd seen all the best parts already in the trailers. We had planned to see it over the holidays but then decided against it. Now I'm wishing we had since it's likely he's not going to have time to go to a movie with me any time soon.

I'm not a Star Wars fan although I have fond memories of the popular culture surrounding what I call "the first Star Wars movie" and everyone else seems to call "Episode IV - The New Hope" since I was a teenager when it came out. I've never even seen the prequel 3 movies. I knew nothing about this one going in but right before it started I asked my son when this was set and he told me it was literally the few days before New Hope which made me more interested as I looked for references to that movie. I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. I also really enjoyed the strong female lead.

The World Showcase has the highly popular Frozen ride, among other things oriented toward kids. Disney didn't design it as a adult area, although they could have, and I don't think it should be given a pass.

The first thing I made was seasoned chicken thighs and I still notice that smell when I go to use it, but I made oatmeal on Saturday and there was absolutely no taste of it. I'm wondering if heating lemon juice / water in it will get rid of the smell like it does in the microwave.
