We bought the dining plan the first year it was available - and it was GREAT! Original menus, full servings, dessert, entree appetizeer and gratutiy included...... but then - then things changed. Menus changed, plans changed, morphed, shrunk, gratuity's were extra..... it's not as good a deal as it once was. We no longer take part, and a pp was correct, we're treated "differently" when we reply "no" to the "are with us on the dining plan today?" question.

And there is also a place in DTD to take cool photos.... it's Christmas themed, so you can plan ahead for your Christmas cards!! Who remembers where that place is??

Wow - what a bunch of excitement~ so sorry for those that experienced health issues, but I learned something very valuable.... the phone number on the door thing - never occurred to me to do that before, you can bet we'll be doing it on future trips. Wow. Great reporting, guys!!

I love seeing how the Fort and area are evolving.... the changes, etc. It's fun to get on a boat, look at the areas now all wooded and wild looking - knowing that it'll all change shortly! Shades of Green resort was originally opened as the Golf Resort. Then, it was renamed the Disney Inn. (ETA - rats, Cherie....we were posting at the same time!! )

Our first two trips to WDW we were at rope drop daily - generally first at a turnstile! We experienced the parks virtually empty, saw characters in odd places, and got to ride attractions multiple times with no wait, and had special experiences from CMs. Then we got APs and started touring the parks in a whole different way - we'd have coffee at the moho, walk the dog to the dog park, wander over to the boat dock to see if the boat was there waiting for us, and if not, we'd head to the bus stop and get on the first park bus that arrived.... a VERY different way of seeing Disney. OK... I musta missed the "adhesive" part -I understand painting the beach balls black, it's the sticky part - how do you make them sticky??

We used Steve twice for golf cart rentals before TheBigGuy bought one. We received most excellent service from him - he went an EXTRA mile for us and I'll continue to recommend his business. Don't worry a bit about renting from him - he's a good guy.

Reading this makes me realize that I *really* need to go out there and do some serious pulling of stuff that I shoved in there because I MIGHT need it..... I mean, do I truly need two drink pitchers? Two skillets? I do carry 2 sets of bedding though.... in case we have guests, they can bunk on the sofa in relative comfort. :rofl2:

I can understand your excitement.... hope your trip is FABULOUS!! And for those of us waiting on our trips, take tons of photos!

This is our traditional arrival meal...... TheBigGuy piles a dog on the cart, takes to the dog park, comes home and I've got the moho vacation ready..... he comes back, drops off the dog, and heads out to Trail's End to pick up the GAG....... he gets to surprise me with the sides, but he'd better bring me a piece of breakfast cornbread..... man, that stuff is 20x addictive. *sigh*.... I love the Fort! I use leftover fries chopped up with some onions for breakfast the next morning. How yummy!

Well, if theres *one* thing I've learned.... trust campers when it comes to directions. We'll ignore Microsoft Streets and Trips and go our usual way to the Fort..... it's just so smooth and uneventful to go Western Way - it's our regular route! Dang. Six months. Hey BradyLiz (dang if I can remember the whole name) We'll be bringing our 2 border/aussies with us and it looks like we'll be there the same time as you - perhaps they can form a big pack, and all wear each other out and make them sleep all night long?? :heart:

OK, so... TheBigGuy and I are planning another trip to the Fort and he's looking at MS Streets and Trips.... its recommending a route new to us, we generally use the toll road to Western Way - this is recommending getting off the toll road at windermere and taking SR/CR535 to Vista Blvd..... any recommendations or suggestions?? We've not tried this route before. Thanks!

We've stayed at Ocala North RV Park http://www.ocalanorthrv.com/ a couple times close to Reddick, FL..... it's fine, some semi-permanent residents, but there's a designated section of 'short timer' lots that are fine - didn't investigate the bath houses, but it's clean, well-kept, and their regular rates were (last December) $36 a night but they accept Passport America bringing it down to $18.00 a night.... The only complaint was that their entrance is on a dark highway, and is quite hard to see at night.

Yup..... we are on the night shift, so these, believe it or not, are my *normal* hours!! Thanks for the warm welcome, but I think I know most of these scalawags..... met quite a few of them, too!

We love love love these... but the suckers are heavy. But with a cold beverage, a little bit of shade, it's sooo nice!
