  1. LOL... we have the mini. It stays in the motorhome. When TheBigGuy accidentally blew through a toll stop one time, he was absolutely mortified.... had me on the cell phone calling all the numbers I could find to tell them we'd mail the money, or whatever - he was convinced that the police would be stopping him momentarily.... it was a hoot. I finally reached someone and asked what did I need to do, and she asked if we had Florida plates.... I told her no, and she said "don't worry about it at all".
  2. A few found here in SouthEast Alabama.... but nothing like in years past - we're hoping they'll be gone soon!!
  3. Rats. We *finally* booked our HDDR event for next trip, dang it. We seriously should have done it sooner..... why did we wait?? Dang. Well, at least we didn't see it before, and I won't look at the youtube videos, so perhaps we won't notice..... ya think??
  4. Just a note to let y'all know to update your phone contacts..... Steve has a new phone number, I confirmed it with him directly. The new number is is on the golf cart information page .
  5. Too stinking cute.... does that mama seem to be missing a tusk??
  6. OK, we've had bb offers from a resort stay, and since FtW is a resort, I'm wondering if there are ever bb offers there?? I can imagine in the cabins, because of mousekeeping, but what about the campsites?? During our upcoming trip, I'm gonna try calling 8844 from the phone in the checkin area and see if there's anything available, but thought I'd ask here first. Has anyone ever received a bb offer from campsites at FtW??? Thanks, guys!!
  7. We call this "hunter's stuff" after the gal that devised it..... Three ingredients. Box of Kraft original shells n cheese can of rotel (store brand excellent and cheap) pound of browned, drained ground beef (i brown, drain, rinse and freeze ahead of time) Make the shells n cheese, dump in the undrained rotel and ground beef. Enjoy!!
  8. Only had cake pops once, and with me, it's a textural thing... they're not cakey at all. Call them something else and perhaps I wouldn't have that issue....lol....
  9. Our early October trip reserved in...um... April?? qualified for a AAA discount of approximately 20% as well.... more than the AP discount we'd originally reserved with. This is for a preferred site. Of course, nada is available for our December trip. *sigh*.....we'll just keep calling weekly to see if anything pops up, a pincode, an AP or AAA discount would be nice! But the discounts are out there, they just seem so dang *random* to me, you know?
  10. I'm thrilled that the new management will be enforcing the "no trailers on site unless they fit on the pad" rule. We bring a cargo trailer with golf cart, decorations in tubs, etc. in it, and unload it in the overflow, load the decorations on the golf cart, lock that puppy up with padlocks, wheel locks and a tongue lock thing, and don't give it another thought till it's time to leave. Why in the world would you need a trailer on your site?? Some of the sites are tight enough that maneuvering around vehicles and trailers that have "wheels on the pad" but the bed of the truck sticking out, or
  11. The Big Guy and I did it.... it was nice, and was something that we'd considered when they first put it out at what.... $19.95 per person? When we booked, it was almost $30 per person. Yikes! And, the Tomorrowland terrace was our favorite place to view Wishes before this event began, so we ponied up the money and did it. Long line to get in, TBG got a tad bit impatient.... asking "Don't these people have reservations?? What's the holdup??" The holdup was a single castmember with a clipboard looking for names in the semi-darkness.....*sigh*. We got in, found our table (they had our name
  12. Love love love this..... TCD, if you happen to be at the Fort in October or December..... I'm just saying..... this Alabama gal would sure love to have such an incredible memento of the Fort's bygone days. Of course, then I'd have to explain to TheBigGuy about being "spiked".... <snort>
  13. Yay Ranger Bill - nice to see you on the boards! Please, if you see any of our purple "fiendmingos" around the Fort, feel free to stop in and say hello, especially if you smell food cooking..... Thanks for not being afraid to help keep the Fort the place we enjoy!! We appreciate what you do.
  14. I actually did this using those instructions... and it looks GREAT!!
  15. We've rented from Steve twice before we bought our own cart.... excellent service, responsive to calls, and an all-around good guy to do business with. I'd recommend him.
  16. I'm thrilled that Disney's got some additional offerings - keeping it fresh. Now, can we also chat here about the Swolphin's Food and Wine Classic?? We'd heard *such* good things about it last year, and were really looking forward to attending.... made our reservations specifically to cover this date. But dang, they've raised the price of the causeway only ticket by $15 to $65, and it's only good for 3 1/2 hours! There are only 9 food stations and 17+ beverage stations. OK if you're a wine/drink lover, but we're not big fans. Plus, last year there was an option to buy tickets only to be
  17. We got to see one team last trip..... they were boarding a boat that we'd just left. Saw them again later in the bus loading area. They were quite a team. Thanks, Lou!!
  18. Hey, as long as it freekin *works*.... I'm all about a new site!!
  19. That's the spot, Shanta! Thanks for the find......
  20. Holy smokes.... we were there the exact same time, and saw your rig numerous times while looping.... we just never caught you there. Was that not the *coldest* trip to Disney ever?? Dang..... thanks for the trip report - it makes me feel a little less far away. :-*
  21. Thanks for the trip report.... I think that wintertime at the Fort is my favorite time. But I'm not a fan of heat... I can wear enough clothes to get warm, but undressing enough to get cool is something else....
  22. We love F&W... last year was our first time, and it was a blast! There were such positive comments about the Swolphin's F&W Classic that we timed our visit to coincide.... sort of a double dip. But dang, they've raised the prices of the entry so much that we're reconsidering, just gonna go to WDW F&W and forgo the Classic. $76 for 4 hours to visit 9 food kiosks is just a bit much..... and, they're not gonna have the tickets available as an alterntive. Bummer.
