2017 Disney Annual Passes- WDW and DL
kadancer replied to Katman1356...Jason's topic in WDW and Disney Park Discussions
Hello: Does this mean that the annual pass that includes the water parks will be 953.64? That seems like a pretty big jump... -
Trash receptacles
kadancer replied to Andrew Roberts's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
Perhaps the new trash cans are just a cool new conversation starter.... I stopped sending my kids to the trash cans because I did not want to spend my vacation in the emergency room with burns from the heat of the metal or fingers smashed by heavy doors. So, lucky me, I now get to take out the trash on vacation too. -
Not sure what the tolls are, but EZ Pass does not work in Florida. My parents one time got a ticket because they went through a toll with ezpass - sunpass is evidently a totally different thing.

If it wasn't pouring down rain again, I would be in the car right now...

I just paid $156 a night for a campsite
kadancer replied to Starbuc71's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
The prices of the full hook up sites are one of the things that stop us from upgrading to a larger camper. It is nice to pull our little hybrid onto a tent site. Sure, I almost exclusively use the comfort station, but those few extra steps let me visit more often and for a longer time. My guys were 2 and 4 on our first trip - now they are 15 and 17. Time sure does fly when you are having fun! -
Gas shortages in the south?
kadancer replied to Beckers's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
The 70's gas "crisis" was one of my first experiences living on my own. It was an adventure waiting in line to see if you could buy gas. A few times, my car remained parked "in line" for two days because I didn't have any gas to move it. What a nightmare! On the flip side, I stayed in shape because I walked ALOT!! I hope everything gets back to normal quickly for everyone affected. -
We visited John Archer when my son was finishing Child Find and I thought the teachers there were fantastic, but the autism program at Hickory was a better fit for him. Unfortunately, they were unable to service his needs in county, so we were lucky to get a spot at LEAP. We have been pretty happy with the programs there. I enjoy subbing and am now pursuing a degree in education (very slowly). It seems like most of the elementary schools in the county are filled with kind, helpful people. Glad to meet you - it really is a small world afterall....

Hi! I am also a substitute in Harford County, but I don't go to John Archer very often because of the early arrival time. My son is on the severe end of the spectrum and attends the LEAP program at Kennedy Krieger. We had some similar potty issues so we started making bathroom visits part of his "schedule." After a couple of trips, he figured it out and now we don't have to schedule anymore.

We have attended the Halloween Party in some pretty awful weather with much of the "special" entertainment being abbreviated or cancelled and have never thought to ask for a refund. From my point of view, the ticket says non-refundable, so we made the best of what we could do, including eating way too much candy. I do have friends that were given a cash refund for the party when their child was knocked down by some exuberant attendees while waiting for a wristband. His arm was broken and, clearly, the family had received no value for the ticket. For me that is a valid reason for requesting

What fun! Wish I could be at the party this year. It is one of my favorites....

We have a child with similar issues and find that adding their needs to the request for a site can be helpful. We tend to ask for sites that have more "foliage" (video helps see this nicely) between them to at least give a sense of privacy, but we also stay in the partial hook up loops. Have a wonderful time!!!

I like the idea of the small plates for variety. Thanks for the info.

I would love to try Spice Road. How are the prices?

Survey Hints at Cuts to Passholder Benefits
kadancer replied to Tri-Circle-D's topic in WDW and Disney Park Discussions
For those of us that own annual passes and don't actually live close to WDW, this is horrible. We are not in a situation that allows us to come back in a couple months to see something new. This would be a policy that makes my annual pass more difficult to justify. -
Nothing to add either, but that looks delicious....are they really extinct?

We enjoy the Biergarten also. And pastry in France.

We are among the few that actually still enjoy Ellen's Energy Adventure. My son is a non-thrill seeker and is very disappointed that another of his favorites is being replaced by a roller coaster. Our next trip to the Fort was not supposed to be until next summer, but we are jumping through financial and campsite availability hoops to get him to Florida for one last ride.

The biggest draw back I found about the new trash cans is having to open them after they bake in the sun... -
Tiffins - Disney's Animal Kingdom

I have to sort of agree with the assessment of The Jungle Book show. It's only redeeming factor for me is the number of live performers it employed.- 11 replies
