Does Mrs TCD or your older daughter speak Spanish? If so they should have joined in on the conversation. Probably would have quieted down those other ladies for a bit. My brother speaks Arabic. It's funny to see people's faces when he starts speaking to them. The first reaction is shock, but then they usually love it and have long conversations with him.
