  1. Yeah another TCD trip report. Being that we are a family of 5 Riverside is one of the optional resorts available to us. We have never stayed there so, I am looking forward to reading all you have to say about it.
  2. Wow! That is scary. I am going to add in a prayer of thanksgiving that you all are safe.
  3. How on earth did I miss this the first time I read this? Thank you Magic Bus for drawing my attention to it. Now I know exactly how I will convince hubby we should go to Sea World.:parrot: As an aside every time my youngest dd sees this green bird on these boards she asks, "How come there is a dancing booger?" I guess it's time to get her eyes checked again. :rofl2: Ok now back to my original comment (hey I hijacked my own comment I think you all are rubbing off on me.) Since we will already be in Florida of course I will then have to convince him that we may as well go ahead and visit Dis
  4. We saw a preview for the Dolphin Tales movie when we went to watch the Winnie the Pooh movie. We have it on our list of upcoming movies that we want to see. I just realized that the Sea World in Florida is the only Sea World Park that I have never been to. We did give my son the option when he was about 4 years old if he want to go to Sea World or Disney World for a day. He chose to go to MIckey Mouse's house.
  5. I told everyone when we moved here to Alabama that it was because they sold beer and wine at the grocery store. Going along picking up the bread, milk, egss and Pampers and then the next thing you know there's the beer and wine. May as well pick up some of that too. :rofl2: Good Catholic girl that I am. Nine months later and my Pampers supply was then doubled. In Maryland I had to go to a liquor store to buy the beer and wine.
  6. My aunt and uncle live near Dollywood. I took the kids one summer for a visit and ended up upgrading to season passes. That fall during the fall break from school we went back as a family. One of the nicest things that happened was as we were waiting in line to buy my husband a ticket (since he didn't go before) a man came up to me and gave me a ticket he was not using. He had an extra one and didn't want it to go to waste. We love Gatlinburg and the Smoky Mountains. I agree with the others about a future Grand Gathering there.
  7. I had friends who were planning trips for around Memorial Day. They were staying at non Fort resorts. I was over there reading their trip reports and remembering back to my own trip to Disney back in January 2010. Feeling nostalgic I decided to go over and read some trip reports on the camping board. I kept seeing all the messages about where is everyone and noticed many pictures missing. Being a middle child I tend take the role of peace maker and decided it was probably best not to ask any questions over there. So, I began a Google search and found you all. I rarely if ever post over
  8. :welcome:I love pre-trip reports and post trip reports!. Looking forward to yours.
  9. We always leave a beer for Santa! We leave some milk too. He always seems to finish the beer and not the milk.:rofl2:
  10. We have used the restsurant. Com gift cards (certificates) many times. We didn't use one at Swan & Dolphin, but my sister-in-law did with no problem. We did use one in DTD. I can't remember the name of the restaurant though.
  11. Don't forget taxi driver for the older ones to all their activities. Wow to think we actually had our own lives at one time. :rofl2:
  12. Hey we park in that same place when we go into Gatlinburg too! It seems we also eat at the same restaurants. When we were there in October they had the parade of General Lee cars down the main road. We missed it, but still saw plenty of them over that weekend. My kids all remember that from the Ober Gatlinburg tram you can see the Barbie House. They keep asking us if we can stay there. :rofl2:
  13. One of my friends has gone to both the breakfast and dinner here. She said both were good. Different characters at each. Alice in Wonderland and others in the morning and Cinderella, Prince Charming and others for dinner. Based on the ages of your older children I would say either breakfast or dinner here would be a good choice.
  14. This is great! We love Smoky Bear Campground. For awhile we were spending all our fall breaks there. Then my son got really busy with football and gas prices went up :argh: so, the last time we went to Gatlinburg we ended up not taking the camper and just staying at a condo right in town. I really missed being at the campground. I love that when I would call to make reservations Chong would really take the time to find out about what you were towing, how many would be there and try to find the best site for you. Then when you get there they go out of their way to make sure you are happy.
  15. I know for some reason I keep finding my way back here!
  16. Doodlebug, where are you? I think this thread needs some glitter!
  17. Great start! I know what you mean about children and them being use to long car trips. We travel from Alabama to central Nebraska at least once a year to see dh's family and if we aren't traveling in that direction we are headed to Maryland to see mine. My son has been traveling so much see he was a baby (he's 15 now) that as soon as we get in the car to go on a trip he just falls right to sleep. On our last trip we hadn't even made it out of the driveway yet. :rofl2: My girls do pretty good too, but my youngest tends to pack her whole playroom of toys.:rofl2: I wish we had done what you did
  18. Loving this trip report as usual. Though I do feel like an impatient two year old. I keep checking back to see if the fireworks pictures are posted yet. :rofl2:
