  1. I have reserved an ECV for my MIL from All Star Scooters for our trip in January. They will be delivering it to the Reception Outpost the day we arrive. But I am wondering if anyone can answer a few questions for me? I think we will probably drive to the parks vs. taking the bus, although I kinda wanted to ride the boat to MK. Is it possible for Momma to get around on her ECV at the Fort? I mean, can she use it to go to the comfort stations or go to the playground with the kids? Are the pathways paved or just dirt? Could it get stuck? That sort of thing? (Can you tell I'm a newbie?) She can wa
  2. I received a PM on the "other" place directing me here. But, you know, for the life of me, I remember who it was!!
  3. I'm in the same boat Norm! Well, kinda...I'm looking at Askershus and Ohana Best Friend's Breakfast for our trip in January but I'm looking at Chef Mickey's for dinner our arrival night or maybe Hoop de Doo...Ahhh its too many choices!!! and Tusker House is in the running too!!! :rofl2:
  4. I've read and read, and I think I have it figured out but my reservations for January are for 2 Full Hook-Up sites. :panic: One for my parents in their TT and one for us in the fifth wheel from MakeCampingEasy.com. Thoughts as to which loop I should try and request? I want Donnie to not have any trouble setting up the fiver that day. Can you tell I'm getting anal about this trip? Also, we will have my in-laws in the fiver with us, so maybe something a little closer to a comfort station? :wheelchair: Thanks for your help!!
  5. Pixi - Have a good time this weekend! Stay safe, those folks are crazy!! :)

  6. Rain, work, ugh what a horrible day!! I need to go to FW!!

  7. Thanks for all the input folks! Has anyone done the Best Friends Breakfast at Ohana? The food sounds REALLY good!
  8. Planning little people's first trip in January. Its already been decided that we'll HAVE to do the Royal Akershus Princess Breakfast for my little girl, we are going for her birthday celebration. But I would like to do another meal that my little guy (4) will enjoy along with the rest of the family...DH, I and both sets of grands. Any suggestions? We aren't doing the DDP so it will be OOP (so be kind to my wallet!!).
  9. I could really use this info too for our trip in January 2012. We are checking into FW on a Saturday and leaving the following Friday. I do know that I'm only buying MYW 4 day passes, but I'm at a loss with what to do with them!! Our party is a little "varied"...DH & I (2nd/3rd trips respectively from childhood), our rugrats at 4 & 6 (first trip), my neice, 11 (first trip) and both sets of parents. My parents are up for anything, DH's parents are a little older and may not be up to all the walking. I'm very stressed about this trip, can't ya tell?
  10. Canadians are allowed. After all what else is there to do? :rofl2: :rofl2:
  11. Since its so freakin cold still...lately my favorite beverage has been coffee. :argh: But I'm also quite fond of Joe's Cool Red from Layton's Chance Vineyard, a little local winery. Goes great with anything. But I'm not an alcohol snob, I'll drink just about anything!! :rofl2:
  12. Unfortunately our first camping excursion won't be until Memorial Day weekend. If we weren't going to Oklahoma in two weeks, you can bet the farm that I'd be planning something for April, all of our local campgrounds open tomorrow!!!
  13. Thank you Carol! I just sent Rhonda an email and I waiting for a reply from Donnie about the RV also, since I would like to keep my parents on the same loop (next door if possible) I'll wait and see what he suggests before trying to get the ressies. Thank you!! :rofl2:
  14. My husband's Incredible and my iPhone both can be set up as a hot spot, but I haven't tried it yet. Do you know if there is an additional fee to use the hot spot through Verizon? DH activated the HotSpot on my DroidX last month to test with his iPad, my bill was $20 more!! :rofl2: But its better than paying $9.95 a day, thats for sure!
  15. Been debating back and forth about getting a AAA membership. We do most of our camping at the local state parks but we are planning a camping trip in August for OBX and then our trip to FW in January 2012. I've been pricing park tickets and it looks like with a membership I might be able to save about $100 over using Undercover Tourist. Does the Fort offer discounted sites with AAA? I'm thinking every little bit helps, right? I'll have to reserve 2 sites, one for my stepdad's TT and then one for the (hopefully) RV we will be renting. Do I have to have a premium site for them? Can I
  16. Nice, local state park campground. Sites are spacious, no concrete. Bath houses are clean but older...We went in May 2010 and there was an influx of Mosquito Hawks in them...the kids freaked out! :)
  17. Toddlers...they can be tricky little critters aren't they? :) We tent camp, so our little people have their own "toddler sized" air mattress with their choice of bedding, Princesses and Buzz Lightyear, respectively. We also use an oscillating fan to keep some air circulating. Portable DVD players, kid sized flashlights and laterns, Leapsters and games for downtime, and cups with lids for the night-time "tursties". My husband picks on me cause although we tent camp, I am not one to go without my (or the kids) luxuries, we take so much with us that I just ordered a Roof Bag for my van!! :)
  18. Both of my "babies" were camping before they were crawling! :) We just love being outside. Granted we did/do (whatever) co-sleep so that helps but we have never had anyone complain about us being too noisy at a site. Bring things for distractions, toys, "stuff". Don't just sit around the site...do something, our fave activity is looking for pretty stones, lizards, bugs. We can't wait until Janary 2012 to do these things at the fort! :)
