  1. They would have no idea at the point you ordered them that you were staying at the POP. The reservation number would have been what triggered the MB order if that was the case. Your AP is most likely the trigger in your case. So give it a try TCD.
  2. To get your band, with us, once we linked the info it gave us an option to order them. Not sure how that works with AP holders. I don't have one. But if you don't have a MB, your RF AP can be used on the systems TPs. So you could still use the benefits of the system. Just use your card. Yes, once your media is linked to your account, there is no turning back. It is linked forever.
  3. https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/plan/my-disney-experience/passholder/ Also, google is your friend........
  4. I believe it started as an invite only type thing. I do know some AP holders got free stays at resorts to help test while others who already had reservations at a test resort got asked to participate. Now, its just a word of mouth spread I guess. Check the super secret AP website.
  5. You are gleaning a code for FP+. If you try to use the MB to access the FP+ of a ride and are not authorized yet, it alerts the CM. This will then bring attention to yourself. If too many failed attempts occur, the band is flagged and deactivated. Same with if your PIN is incorrectly entered too many times. Plus, if you glean a code from Sandy and you are not a woman, you will get some looks when you touch a TP. When you use a TP (even to enter the park) your info is displayed on a screen and the CM verifies the info.
  6. I see advantages, but it really depends on the pass holder. Having the ability to schedule your fast passes and not worry about sending a runner or running with the bulls at RD is advantage enough for me. You could decide you are going to MK on Sat and schedule your FP for space mountain the Tuesday before. You will already have your time and not have to rush around. Plus, as new features are implemented, you are already in the system so you can immediately take advantage of them. Think of it this way, your AP will be used to enter the park. Your AP (the physical card) is registered to your
  7. If you link your AP to your mydisneyexperience account you are eligible for FP+. Currently, if you link your AP to your account you are eligible for FP+. Now, the loophole will work for you until they either close it or discontinue legacy FPs. So you could get your 3 FP+s and then use your AP card to get legacy FPs just like normal. Yes, it is supposed to be either or, but the MB is not what determines if you get FP+ or not. Its your mydisneyexperience account that does. The MB is just a glorified KTTWC or AP. As long as you have the RF chip AP, it will function just like the MB. You ju
  8. As an AP holder, you can participate in the FP+ side of the system if you want. Simply create an account with the mydisneyexperience system and link your AP to it. It can be done one of two simple ways. If using the website, click on link tickets and enter the number on the back of your AP. It should come up as an AP and allow you to make FP+ reservations. If using the phone app, click on tickets and then link existing pass and scan the code on the pass or enter the number. You can always unlink the pass later if you want.
  9. That's a touch and go issue. Sometimes you can do it, sometimes you cant. Depends on the day, time of day, park, attraction, moon phase, you get the idea. It is supposed to not allow a FP unless the ticket was used to enter the park, but it doesn't always work. The issue you are talking about has been like that since FP machines have been around. You could probably try again tomorrow and get a different result as well. We just tested the system at Studios the other day. We had our FP+ selections, plus we could get legacy FPs with our KTTWC, plus we could get FPs with our CM ID. Our Maingates
  10. The "loophole" they are talking about is for those who have the magic bands for the test. They are advised not to collect legacy FPs during the test, but do not enforce it. This is how and why the testers are able to get legacy FPs in addition to the FP+s, and obviously the blog author does not know a dang thing about how the MyMagic+ system works and is spreading bad info. The tickets used to enter the park are linked to the guests mydisneyexperience account. The MBs and KTTWC are also linked to this account. Guests, during the test period, are given both a MB and KTTWC as a back up that
  11. No. The old keys are deactivated and not associated to anything. But they are still on your account. Ony the current reservation medium works and its still only one account so even if all 10 were active, they all work as one. Does that make sense? So you still only get your 3 FPs like normal. You would need 10 different accounts with 10 different reservations and names to beat the system like you're thinking.
  12. Im late to the party. I will tell what I know now, and update later this week as we are testing the system the next couple of days. And this is an in depth test, not a "Hey do you want to participate" test. As CM tetsers, we are required to do certain things and keep a journal of our experience and report back to the big wigs when done. Believe me I will keep detailed notes. Now for some comments. The ONLY official MyMagic+ service center is in the Town Square Theater in the MK. There is a huge sign out front letting guests know. It has aprox 10 stations set up that consist of nothing more
  13. Two separate programs. If the tickets are purchased during the 2012-2013 program, they expire Sept 28, 2013. Then the new program starts Sep 29, 2013. Tickets bought during the new program will expire Sept 28, 2014. Tickets expire whether all options were used or not.
  14. But they expire on Sept 28. So be sure your dates work out for those.
  15. I hate to break this to you, but its already happening. On any given day I see at least 20 groups doing this. Mostly its the princesses, but have seen the princes portrayed too. The above photo is the first Ive seen any of the Fab 5 portrayed. And frankly do not see the resemblance. But have seen Mike and Sully, Snow White and all seven dwarves, Flynn and Rapunzel, and so on.
  16. I would say that 9 out every 10 "cameras" I am handed daily are phones. No one uses cameras any more. The funny thing is, most of those people who use their phone as a camera complain about the pictures taken by it. Hello, its a phone, not a camera. You want a good picture, use a device thats designed for the purpose of capturing those images. We joke that one day, photopass will be using iPhones to do our job.
  17. I have seen this picture a few times, but for some reason, have never noticed that my boss is photobombing you. That's him next to the lady in the wheelchair.......
  18. Yep, want to get out of the rain in Florida? Walk across the street.........
  19. The Fort is fine. Didn't look like anything happened here. The storm was most definitely a small tornado. Those who know me, know that I have been through several tornados since I moved to Florida and I grew up in IL where tornados are common. The wind picked up suddenly and the trees were blowing sideways as was the rain. The wind stopped and it got quite, then, it picked up suddenly again. That was the eye of the tornado. Again, it was nothing large and probably did not produce a funnel cloud. But was still a tornado. Most likely just forming over the MK. Most damage was large branch
  20. The Castle show was not shown on the 1st because the MSEP was late starting and did not finish in time. So in order for the fireworks to start on time, they had to cancel the show. Also, the fireworks on the 3rd and 4th were 360 degrees while the rest of the week were only 180 degrees. So you got a little more on the 3rd and 4th.
  21. I look at it this way, The food is part of the cruise cost. So I would not use that as an indicator of a tip. No different than the tip you give your regular server or room steward. So no, I would not base the tip off a 15-20% fictional cost. You know the server already gets $10 from you, so if you feel the service you got was worth more (based purely on service not a fictional cost), then tip more. But I would not go more than $20 additional. That's a $30 tip per person. So, a party of two the server gets $60. To me, depending purely on service provided, that's a substantial amount for a ti
  22. Not sure of official policy, but this is how it was explained to me. The servers at Palo are not paid like the other servers on the ship. The additional charge for eating at Palos goes to the server, so, in essence, you are already tipping them. You can determine if an additional tip warranted or not based on your experience. As a side note, any time you order an alcoholic beverage, you are automatically charged a 15% gratuity. So if you tip your server for those drinks, keep that in mind as well.
