  1. From Seattle Washington to Orlando area. Took 4 days.
  2. Just a gee whiz question for ya. Since you visit BOG so much, do you know how the rose works? Meaning, do you know how the server knows where you are sitting to bring your food to you?
  3. What "other" site was this? I just picked up my new keys to begin another month at the Fort and asked this question. The rules have not changed as far as the staff that works here goes. As long as it is paid for, you can put what ever camping equipment you want on a premium site.
  4. This reminds me of a story from work. I was working with Rapunzel and a little boy, about 6 or 7, came in to meet the Princesses. He had a thing for Rapunzel and wanted marry her. He asked her and Rapunzel politely replied "I already have my prince, but if anything happens to Flynn, you will be next in line." The little boys reply was "Can I borrow your frying pan." Confused, Rapunzel asked why, to which the boy replied "So I can hit Flynn with it so I can marry you." Theres a fine line between chivalry and assault......... There are plans to eventually move photopass to the ships,
  5. The CD cost (all photos taken by regular photopass photographers) Pre order (14 days prior to vacation start) $119.95 Regular cost $169.95 No limit to how many photos you have on the CD. If you end up with 1000 photos, you get all 1000 photos (most likely on a couple of CDs). You have full rights to the photos. You can edit your photos prior to ordering CD and add borders and autographs (like in the photos above). If you buy the CD at the park in the view station, you cannot edit your photos prior to getting the CD. Photopass+ cost (ALL photos taken (photopass photographers, ride photos, di
  6. There's a section that says something like manage magic bands or too that effect. That is where we were prompted to order ours.
  7. On our first cruise, it was our honeymoon, and we were seated with 3 other couples who were also celebrating their honeymoon. One couple was the straight relax and do nothing, another wanted to have fun but didn't know how, and the third was a nice couple from Japan. We talked about our days at dinner, polite small talk, but it seemed DW and I were the only ones who did anything fun (except the Japanese couple, but I was the only who talked to them because they did not speak English and I was the only one who spoke even a little Japanese). The couple who didn't know how to have fun kept saying
  8. That's what I would do. Get the starter pack now, then for Christmas, get him the extras. Some can be bought as singles or they can be bought as sets. We bought the starter set and a Cars set that had Lightning McQueen, Porsche, and Radiator Springs icon. One note about the power disks. You cannot choose which ones you buy. You get a pack of them and what's inside is a crap shoot. The idea is to collect them and trade for what you need/want. Some are more rare than others.
  9. I agree the Disneyland game is a PITA, but Infinity is pretty easy. It does have a steep learning curve though. The instructions are 3 pages and do not cover much more than what buttons do what. So you learn as you go. But kids these days should have no problem picking it up easily.
  10. Yes I have it and yes, I have the Dragon too. Just place your Magic Band on the hexagonal position and the dragon will appear. I love the game. The only downside is all the extras you have to purchase to fully enjoy the game. In order to play a character or in a new world, you have to buy the figure or icon. To use all the extra enhancements (new weapons, power boosts, vehicles, ex.) you have to buy the power disks. But the game play is awesome. I like that you can play in a generic world (the toy box), create your own world, or play in the worlds of the characters (radiator springs, pirat
  11. I saw this and thought TCD might like it........ http://www.firebox.com/video/3403 http://www.firebox.com/product/3644/VW-Camper-Van-Tent
  12. The original argument was are carriers bigger than DCL ships. The truth of the matter is, yes. They are wider and taller. So yes, the Dream is heavier and longer (by 20 some feet) but the carriers are wider and taller. You displayed information that only supported your side of the argument in an effort to influence the readers to believe you. I posted ALL of the information so they can make an educated decision. and the width without the "flat top" is 134 ft at the waterline. Its in the post above. 3ft less than the dream. For someone who doesn't read TRs you are making cameos all througho
  13. Lou is both correct and incorrect. Yes the Disney Dream is 23 ft longer than a Nimitz carrier (which is the one I was on), but the beam of the carrier is 137 ft more. For those wondering, the beam of a ship is maximum width of the ship. So the carrier is wider, and therefore, larger than the Dream. The Dream also has 16 decks while the carrier has 18. So the carrier is taller than the dream as well. The reason for the tonnage difference is the carriers are hallow insides in order to carry more weight. When fully loaded with aircraft, the carrier will out weigh the Dream. The dream is laden
  14. The current photo system onboard is Shutters. It is a contracted company and the employees are not Disney CMs, they partners. We also were not impressed with the photography service on board. Disney is looking into Photopass on the ships as they want the system to be a seamless all in one service. They just rolled it out in Tokyo and Paris and have plans for China now. The other Disney resorts (Alauni, Hilton Head, etc) already have photopass in place. So, when you go on a Disney vacation, you can get ALL of your photos in one convenient package and it will be seamless. I could do one
  15. Im here. I guess I will be the voice of reason here. I have been at the fort for a year straight. If you are looking to this as a "cheap" way to move to Florida, you are going to be surprised. A monthly site will run you anywhere from $2400 to $3500 a month, unless you have some serious discounts. Add in the cost of your "new" RV and tow vehicle and you can probably tack on another $1000. So $4500 a month in "rent" compared to apartments less than a mile from Disney for $1200. Just food for thought. We have also been fulltiming for 4 years now. If you plan to spend extended periods
  16. It seems Lou may really be done with Disney. I caught a picture of him at his new job, delivering newspapers, today. Don't believe me......
  17. I almost overlooked this TR thinking it was an older one. A couple of comments. The moms changing kids outfits between princesses is not just a DCL thing. They do it at WDW all the time too. Its awkward to look over and tell the little girl it her turn to meet Cinderella only to find they are half dressed and the mom frantically trying to find the proper dress in the duffel bag they schlepped through the park like a Sherpa. Two of our 4 cruises we disembarked at Nassau. The first was just to see the sights and experience it. The second was the first time my girls cruised with us. We were
  18. I don't know about anyone else, but I would feel extremely safe on the DME bus, especially after looking at the photos of the accident. If the stories are true, and the car was stopped when the impact was made, the bus struck the car with enough force to compact it to half its size and shove it down the road and into the medium. The bus appears to have zero damage to it. You would think that an impact like that would cause some damage to the bus, but it doesn't even look like there's a scratch.
  19. I was going to suggest the 700 loop. Its not on your list but is about equal distance to the pool/campfire and the marina. 600 isn't too far from either but closer to the pool area. 400 is my favorite and is close to both but closer to the marina.
