  1. Ill just respond to one of your posts. The answer is the same for both. Yes, the RF cards and MBs work exactly the same. Just one you wear on your wrist. For charging, you would log into your MDE account and link your AP to your account. Then, you would link your credit card to your account as well. If there is not an option on your MDE account to enter a CC number, it will be there soon. They are rolling it out gradually. Once all of those are linked, you can use your RF AP to make FP+ selections and charge. Once you get a MB, you would link that to your account as well and then you c
  2. Yes there is a battery. There is more to the band than a short range RF chip. If you are an AP holder you would use that one already linked to your account. You would not get one as part of your reservation. The goal is once you get one, you keep that one and use it over and over. Also, the greater chance of the AP holder loosing them is the reason they give one free and charge for the replacements. Resort guests have a low replacement cost while AP holders would have a higher replacement cost. AP holders loose 1000 bands a year resort guests loose 100. Economics. Costs less money to replac
  3. Resort guests will not pay for their bands. Lost or other wise. Replacement bands will not be customized and will be the grey ones. AP holders will get one free one, but will have to pay to replace lost ones. They will also sell bands at Disney stores for day guests or guests staying off property. The only difference will be what they can access. The ones sold for day guests will have charging, FP+, and park entry but will not have access to resorts or rooms obviously. Not sure of the cost of the retail bands yet, but supposedly, they will be sold by outside vendors as well. So you could
  4. No offense to anyone who truly has a need for this service, but I fail to see how this is a punishment. Disney is still making accommodations to allow everyone access to the attractions. The new system is not just being implemented because of abuse. It is to make the park more efficient. Imagine this scenario. The posted wait time is 45 mins when you get in line. All of the sudden, 4 families arrive with a GAC and 6 family members each. Not to mention the FP returnees at the same time. Now the 45 mins you thought your were waiting suddenly becomes 65 mins and Disney has no control or foresi
  5. Those are the metal palm trees by the electric umbrella in EPCOT, right?
  6. No problem. I should have some more updates (pretty exciting ones) in a few weeks. Once the green light is given to release the info........
  7. Yep. Identify to the photographer at the beginning of the session that you have a MB (if we don't see a band we start a new card for you). Once done, the photographer will associate the photos to your MDE account by tapping your MB with our reader. When you log into your MDE account and select photopass, your phots will be there.
  8. Ummm, this has been discussed on a couple of other threads and the system is not being done away with. It is being modified to prevent abuse of the system. Before spreading this around, please read up on what it is and how it will benefit the guests. http://www.fortfiends.net/forum/topic/11077-disneyland-getting-rid-of-gac/?hl=%2Bguest+%2Bassistance#entry303047
  9. I think the biggest change to this system is the person with the disability must be identified and their picture goes on the card. That person must ride the attraction with their party in order to get the special access. If they do not ride, the party waits like normal. It is also limited to only those attractions that do not have accessible queues. Most attractions at WDW have accessible queues so they would not be allowed front of the line at those attractions. Only the few that are not accessible. That also is a huge change. An example would be the Mermaid attraction. It has an accessible q
  10. I just logged in, went to my reservations, and selected the reservation I wanted to look at and the link was right there to begin on line check in.
  11. You can use the same card. just the site you use to see them will be different. All the differences are in the background with the servers and where and how the photos are stored. Any photopass photographer working for Disney can use any photopass card to scan photos to. This includes Aluani, DL, Euro Disney, WDW, etc.
  12. Right now, just WDW. you would think they would have tested in DL and work out the kinks there first. Smaller park and not as crowded. Easier tests. But no plans I have seen to implement this in DL.
  13. If the reservation is test eligible. If it is not, no MB or FP+. Not sure. I just went on and did online check in for my next reservation and everything worked fine for me. Tell her to go through the app or MDE website and follow the link there.
  14. One thing to note I just thought of. Since my Disneyland trip has everyone wanting to migrate west to visit that magical land too. The Photopass changes and magic bands and all that fancy jazz is only at WDW, not DL. DL still uses the old systems and photopass service. It operates the same as the old PP service. You can view your photos from your MDE account, however, all its really doing is linking you back to the old site so you can view your photos. So if you venture to DL, you cant use your MBs to tap to associate.
  15. No worries. I can say there are enhancements coming and from what I know, they are pretty awesome. Once the green light is given, I will let everyone know about them.
  16. I am not at liberty to talk about the future of photopass or photopass+ but enhancements are coming and will be made available in the near future. As releases are made public, I will update yall on them.
  17. As of today, 18 Sept 2013: Magic bands may now be used as photopass media. Meaning, if your band is linked to your MDE account, you can tap to associate your photos to your account. Then when you log into your MDE account and follow the link to photopass, your photos will show up. Also as of today, Magic shots are back. All magic shots are now being done in all locations.
  18. The visiting princesses are random and can change at any time. There is no guarantee who they will be. For the most part, they should remain the same for the day. The MDE app will be updated to show real time who is in the hall with them. Any of the Disney princesses are subject to be in the hall. So any of them COULD be in there. Disney's days of limiting cast entrance is over. When they blocked cast IDs during the 24hour event, it created a backlash with the unions and will probably never happen again. They can limit them bringing in guests, but cannot restrict the CM form entering as it
  19. Every person using the FP line must have a FP. So yes, even if mom isn't technically meeting the princess, she still needs a FP. But there is a stand by line as well.
  20. Fairytale Hall: Cinderella and a visiting princesses and Rapunzel and a visiting princess. It is two separate queues and FPs, so if you wanted to meet all 4, you will have to wait in line twice or use two FPs. And the FPs work like regular FPs so if you get one for Cinderella, you have to wait until that one's return time to get another for the Rapunzel. It will also eat up two of your FP+ selections. The visiting princesses could be any of the other princesses. The only guarantee is Cinderella and Rapunzel. I had my training to work in there the other day. And just FYI, the day you too
  21. I don't see them moving them at all. There is confirmed news that the new glow with the show ears will be tied into the Osborn lights. That is allot of technology being installed for that to work. I know Disney isn't known for super smart decisions. But why would they spend all that time and money to install the technology and get it working, just to tear it down?
