Permanent Fort Campers
devores replied to PAWDWcamper's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
Some of those campers are not permanent. They just get the same site every time. They come and go but when they stay at the Fort, they always stay in the same site. To my knowledge, there are, at this time, 3 sites that are year round and 2 of them have moved sites but never left the Fort. Hilda is the only one who has squatted on the same site for more than a year. Not to smash dreams, but it is an expensive endeavor. You can find some discounts if your lucky, but for the most part you pay rack rate like everyone else. Now figure the busy times when sites are $120 a night. $120 X 30...... -
Yes Lou, that is correct. But old habits are hard to break. I do, however, like my measly 5 hour shifts. Most of my shifts are 7 or less hours. I will account your lack of grasping the 24 hour clock will chalked up to not being able to teach an old dog new tricks. Thank you. Lou is the odd man out it seems. Another well taken comment. The only "Disney" thing I cannot grasp is when they have hour 25 and 26. That is just dumb. I know why they do it, but it makes no sense.

Only one extension is available. You can call the customer service number and plead your case. They may take pity on you. The reason for the one extension change is because folks would just keep getting extensions and the servers would get overloaded. They made it a permanent storage area in essence. I would get on those books though. As far as uploading pictures, those are good for 45 days from upload. And yes, the site is usable even after all photos have expired. There just won't be any photos to view unless you upload them.

Permanent Fort Campers
devores replied to PAWDWcamper's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
That's Hilda. To maintain her privacy that's all I'll say about that. I recently retired and lived at the Fort for a year straight. We decided to move after some careful consideration. The money we saved can be used for other adventures in our life. We may move back at some point but are focused on other things right now. -

The new parade floats will have a higher stance giving everyone a good view of the parade, not just those on the curb in the front row. This is why the garland will not be up next year. The ponies and Cindy's coach are reserved for the hard ticket parties. Gotta leave something special so people feel they get their monies worth. The parade they run during normal ops is a shortened version. -
Yes, when I stayed there, our MBs opened the gates and common area doors (laundry, comfort stations, etc). So it is possible. It would have to be a programming glitch and special steps need to be taken to get them to work. Special steps that CMs are not supposed to do or are so complex only the well versed know how to do it. The cards might be a temp fix until they can get it worked out and still allow them to move forward with the roll out.

I believe its more of a problem with allowing the MBs access to open common doors. All locks on Disney property should have been upgraded by now.

I found this today. RF-enabled Key to the World cards can be issued instead of a MB if a Guest requests it. This card functions the same way a MB does, including touch to enter resort room, touch to enter theme parks and water parks, touch to pay, FP+ and touch to associate photos. These cards do not have an active magnetic stripe; therefore, they will not work in legacy FP distribution machines. All resort Guests will be using FP+ service exclusively. A small number of Guests will receive an RF-enabled card for use on common doors. This includes Fort Wilderness campsite Guests as we

It looks like the same type of Dinosaur so maybe Disney did the same thing as Jim and just named it Cory after the dino name.

Nope. Just lays there. Its the same statue that's always there. The photo is the new meet and greet. Taken on the first day. Guess they just named the statue to make the meet and greet more interesting.

Legacy FPs are being phased out. Eventually, there wont be any FP machines to get legacy FPs from. At that point, you either embrace the FP+ and make them in advance, or wait till you get in the park and make them then at one of the kiosks. Either way, I see it as a win. Hit one kiosk and all your FPs are made for the day. No runners, no hoping the next FP will be a reasonable time, no hoping there are FPs left when you are able to pull a new one. You know all the return times at once and your family can stay together.

Maingate is off 192 behind Animal Kingdom on Sherberth Rd. This office complex houses the Entertainment offices and Merchandise Offices and some other minor offices like risk management and environmental legal offices. Its an old mall that Disney bought and converted to offices.

The CM with Hullahoop is Barbara. She is a legend among anyone who has worked MS. She is Walt reincarnated as a woman. She is a blast to work with and always has a smile on her face and dances around. You can find her driving the MS vehicles, working the crowd prior to parades, and even dancing down the street before and after the parades. Oh, and, Page 1? -
I found it funny because, everyone is totally against the MB only and don't want to loose the KTTW cards. BUT, make the Fort the last one to get rid of the cards and everyone is upset because the Fort is last. Hello, it give the Fort more time to reap the benefits of having the KTTW cards while those snooty resort types don't have one. The Fort will be the only one for a bit. I see this as a good thing.
