David and Gwen Battle the Spring Break Crowds

Finished reading the Trip Report. Great job. That Minnie dressed as Tinkerbell is now sitting in my house. My Daughter saw it and Loved it and would not let it go. She slept with it the whole time down in Disney and kept her entertained on the way home. jon -

Congrats to the TCD twins, that is awesome. On the ice situation - If the guy had an Annual Pass, he may have saved 10% off the ice at the trading posts. -

Yes my wife wanted me to see it. 20 - 30 minute wait, maybe worth it. Anymore than that, a waste of time. If I remember correctly it is still a fountain. -

I am not a huge Fantasmic! fan, but my wife is. I waited in the ampitheatre over 1 1/2 hours last week for the first show. Was I bored. The Little Mermaid statue is still at DHS, I saw it last week. It is over by the Backlot Tour now. jon -
The reason that the Sandwiches do not have the DDP symbol next to them, is that those with the symbols can be bought using the Snack Credits. In order to get the sandwich you need to use a Quick Service Meal or a Table Service Meal to get it. jon

Although the plate covers in NC maybe illegal, we only require 1 plate, so they could use it in the front. -
There are a couple of reasons RFID has taken so long to get into stores. 1. Cost - as Lou said, the cost of the tags were very not cost efficient. 2. Size - They were big and would not fit on certain items. 3. How to tag certain items - Fruit, vegetables, the 1 little hot pepper you get. Those are still being discussed throughout the Supermarket industry. How do you tag a weight item? 4. Misreads - both missing an item and reading an item twice. Making sure checkout lanes and readers are far enough away from items that are not in the cart. (you know all those magazines, candy and stuff at

Down by the Riverside (and Fort): A TCD End of Summer Trip Report
jjbescher replied to Tri-Circle-D's topic in Trip Reports
alright, I had to look at Google Maps to figure it out. Yes, the Golf Course connects Saratoga Springs to Old Key West. Here is the Google Map Link You can see the treehouses up at the top. From the treehouses you have to go to the Golf Course and then walk over. Then there is a walkway(fairly long) that will bring you to Old Key West. jon jon -
Down by the Riverside (and Fort): A TCD End of Summer Trip Report

I will have to look at the maps of the THV, but I do not remember a walkway. They may also not have showed it on the map. It could be that you can walk to it from Saratoga Springs, but nor directly from the THV, unless the pathway is by the street. On the map that I have, it does not show by the street towards OKW. -

Another great trip report from TCD. I had a chance to stay at the resort when it was Dixie Landings, but had to upgrade to Wilderness Lodge because of the package we were getting. Treehouse Villas - I realize I am very late on responding to this trip report - however, been very busy at work and now just getting a chance to catch up on a lot of trip reports. I have stayed at the new THV. They are 3 Bedroom and 2 Full Bath. As another poster stated, they count as a 2 bedroom for points. This makes them very valuable because the rooms consist of the following. 1 King, 1 Queen and then 2 Bunk -
If you have not figured out what it is, I did with my trip in April. I will not spoil the surprise if it comes out later in your trip report. jon

The drive was not too bad. Other then the traffic form people looking at tornado damage it was not that bad. Not really. I liked to stop at the Travel Centers, the TA's and even the Flying J's were nice. Although the TA around exit 70 off I-95 was very busy, but I think that was because of the traffic. We stopped about 4 times spending about $60 in gas. So probably for the whole trip close to $500 or a little above. My car was getting about 9 miles per gallon. Definitely understand. I am doing the drive again in May, but this time my work is paying for the miles and I do not have to pu -

No return trips planned to the fort. However, that does not mean 1 will not come up. However, I am coming down in a month to stay at the OMNI at Championshipgate, Boardwalk Villas, then the Beach Club Villas. The OMNI is for work and then I added on the Boardwalk for a night. jon -

Here is my review of the fort. Check-in: Since I arrived early, there was no one at the gates to check-in, so I parked at the gates and then walked into the lobby. Very helpful and explained everything. Even checked for me to make sure they knew I added on a day and that I would be on the same site. Told me to come in on the day before I had to check-in for the other reservation. Did that and no issues. Site: We were at site #347. I think it was the only site that had no easy angle to back into. It was about 1 site away from a walking path to the comfort station. However, at night, you -

So it looks like we left off on Thursday afternoon. After the DW and DD got up we went to the pool again and then came back and I cooked Dinner on the grill. We had Flank Steak with onions cooked on the grill. We then started to clean up the area a little because we had a lot to pack up. Friday was another Fort day/Downtown Disney day. We woke up and hung out a little. Took the dogs to the dog park and rode around on the golf cart. We headed over to Downtown Disney to get some more lego's and a stuffed Pluto for my DW. We like to eat at Fulton's Crab House for lunch because you get more -

Just got home. Will take some time to unpack and get all the pictures off the multiple cameras. Did not take as many pictures as I had hoped. I will finish up my trip report and then give a review of the Fort itself. Thanks, jon -

Yesterday we slept in as it was a fort day. We got up and went to the pool. Not crowded at all. We also went canoeing. The DD really did not like it because there was no place for her to go without feeling like she was going to fall in the water. We came back to the site and had lunch and then took a nice long nap. We started to get ready fro Chef Mickey's and headed over to the Contemporary. We got to see all the characters, but probably would do breakfast instead of Dinner again. The weather was nice outside so we were going to sleep with the windows open on the Camper, but my BC dec
