  1. How far are you wanting to travel? New York finger lakes is a very pretty and quiet are with mutliple wineries. then you have the Poconos, Lancaster has a very nice renaissance faire that time of year. It all depends on how far you want to travel. If you asked my wife, her answer would be ten years. Dh is from Norwich, so that's not much of a vacation for him. I'm not really worried about travel time/distance, my goal is to be gone a week.
  2. Well, considering out of all of our friends who were married, there is only one other couple still happily married. The rest are divorced or going through a divorce. So 10 is a big deal and dh sees that with all the crumbling marriages around us. I got a large ring last year as we upgraded my wedding ring. I'd love to go to the Keys as well, but hurricane season doesn't appeal to me!
  3. August 18th is our anniversary. Because of child care, we have to plan this well in advance.
  4. I'm sure he'll pick himself up something nice! He's a techie.
  5. Hubby says the camper was my anniversary gift. LOL I think not!
  6. My goal is to have our tickets and resorts paid for by September so all I have to worry about is the extra's. We'll only do a couple dinners out and will cook the majority of the time. I REALLY want to go to Universal this trip as well, so I'm trying to get everything else paid for asap!
  7. We don't eat out much, I don't drive The Beast but a couple times a week since it costs me 120-150.00 to fill up right now. I stopped buying chips long ago for that reason and the fact that my dh will eat the whole bag in one sitting. I really try to meal plan to save money, but that doesn't always work.
  8. ...with the camper, sans kids. Where should we go? I was thinking Gatlinburg area, but now without the kids, I'm not so sure! LOL I've never been to the north east, so that could be an option.
  9. My family wasn't here yet, and being from Michigan, it's something that "happened somewhere else". We weren't taught much about the Civil War in school, but my husband and I will make sure our children know about it and ALL the reason why our country went to war.
  10. I should add that 115.00 a night for 7 people to stay on site is still cheaper for us then two rooms at a moderate or the family suite at Pop or where ever it is.
  11. We only go every other year and for Christmas we're paying 115.00 a night.
  12. The bolded make me chuckle a little. . .
  13. Yeah, we don't do multiple trips in a one year period. If we lived closer, maybe.
  14. We almost went DVC in 09 because we were smushed into POR and we had the PUP at the time and were smushed in that! Our problem with DVC is that we don't need a fancy room, if we could get good discounts through DVC on tickets, we would definitely buy into it. It's not the hotel room that kills our bank account, it's the park tickets, and I still have one child under 3!
  15. So we're ordering tickets from undercover and ordering 1 per month so we're not bombarded with 2000.00 in ticket costs.
  16. I live 10 minutes from I75 in Michigan, so we go that route. Atlanta isn't horrible for us because we usually go through there around 7-8pm.
  17. Thanks Carol, I told dh the same thing. He didn't believe me. :rofl2:
  18. Can you get a AAA discount on Disney tickets?
  19. I don't care about cable hookup. We just need to be able to play DVD's at night when the kids are winding down for bed.
  20. My dealer has a waiting list for the Roo, so they never have used ones on their lot.
