Ramblin' Pines CG, Woodbine, MD
rdancemom... Pam replied to fortpartyof4's topic in Pictures from other Campgrounds
LOL we have lacrosse games and football/cheer right down the road from there. Your review is actually nicer than I expected the place to be. There's literally nothing to do/see in Woodbine and it's off the beaten path in terms of highways for overnight stops. With nearly an hour's drive into either dc or balto, I didn't imagine people would bother driving into the city from there but, now that I think about it, it's a nice, safe area. I always wondered if anyone ever stayed there. Glad to know they do. I figured it was just grass and trees around a little pond. Nice to know there's a pool and -

Purpose for golf cart
rdancemom... Pam replied to paulmlac's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
We'd be lost without a cart at the fort but we're not bike people. If it's a rainy week, you're going to be a lot more comfortable on a cart than on a bike. It's also a lot easier to carry mugs, towels, purses, etc in a cart. Either way, the fort is a wonderful place to spend time. Hope you have a terrific trip! -
LOL that's our motto too. Unfortunately we often get the same result as your Jeep. RIP Tiny Jeep. I get the mudpit thing. More than that I like it. Count me in! Now about that photobucket "hitch" that's tying up my TR more than Jason & Nicki ever could - the new team's cheer moms are all reading 50 shades of gray during practices. I may never be able to hear the word hitch again without thinking of that book. Their breath "hitches" so much I wanna buy the author an inhaler for the characters in her next book.

I'm showing sites available available for partial ($48-$54) and premium ($80-86) right now. The 500, 600 are premium loops. Haven't checked AAA rates but can later tonight if you'd like. On my way out for lunch in 15 mins but I'll send you a pm with what I find later and include my contact info in case you need it in future.

When Is The Next Bus Coming?
rdancemom... Pam replied to Lou...'s topic in Travel and Transportation
ahh, but you wouldn't know the line was over 30mins if somebody before you wasn't given a card. It's the circle of life ride... -

in the parks. It's how they update the wait times on the boards at the rides. -

the cards are for updating FP ride times. they hand a card to a guest as you get in line and you hand it back at the end so they can judge how long it took. I thought it was pretty funny too. -
When Is The Next Bus Coming?

LOL we know. in fact, I'd venture to guess that on at least half of our bus trips somebody said how we should of listened to Lou. We some rather interesting adventures in transportation in July... :bus-047: -
When Is The Next Bus Coming?
rdancemom... Pam replied to Lou...'s topic in Travel and Transportation
We were asked by one of those survey takers at DTD about the busses. One of those had to do with a countdown timer which I thought was a terrific idea. She asked lots of questions but most seemed to be related to our expectations and how long was too long. It was odd, one question actually made it sound as though they thought if we waited too long we'd give up and go back to our room. It asked something like "at what point would you give up" but it was worded in survey-speak. Maybe they were really asking at what point would we go screaming incoherently to anyone who'd listen. Little did she k -
Oh don't be silly guys. That what fiends are for right? It was an epic derailment. I only hope what I write will be worthy. The pressure is on now. LOL even TCD can't say he broke a ff 200,000 post milestone on one of his TRs. That's a pretty impressive accomplishment right there, even if I had nothing to do with it. Not to mention funny. The only problem is that I suspect I'd have had too much fun by the end of your imaginary version. Left to your own devices, you might make us all blush :naughtywave: Awesome! I was thinking about it last night on the way back from Mom's and thought maybe

I'm with you on that one. The ony thing worse than snakes in my book are spiders - and that's probably only b/c i see them more often. Lou? Is that you? really?? I'm betting this threadjack of Nicki's was a deliberate attempt to stop you from seeing the doggie pics. Shameless, positively shameless. And I'm sorry to be the one to point it out again (ok, so maybe I'm not really) but it's obvious that if she'd sink that low, there's no hope she'll actually produce those apple pies she's been promising you come November. I agree snakes belong outside in the wild. In fact, I'd like to see them ver

The Keystone DockDogs hold a big competition at the Blast each year. They've got an entire side of the park for their campers & gear. And boy were they enjoying it. Really nice makeshift sites overlooking the lake with a seperate driveway out & a path down to the water. If there was a such a thing as preferred parking, the dogs had it. I bet they drove Mr MoHo positively crazy with envy. I'd never been to a DockDogs event before but heard about them. They're all about fun with challenges in "outdoor big air", "speed vertical", and "speed retrieve". There were dogs of all breeds there.

So... Every time I get ready to complain about dry camping in the summer and how hot it is without electricity, these guys show up to make me feel like a total wuss. Check out the civil war encampment. These are people who really need a/c and electricity - yet there they are every winter, spring, summer, & fall - out there truly roughing it. I can't even begin to imagine how hot it can get dressed in that wool in the sun on a humid summer day. Thank heaven they do it too b/c it's the kind of thing today's kids have to see to believe and understand just how much men & women in America's

Awesome! and you're first too! :thumbsup1: Excellent! I think I may need your help keeping these bad kids from squatting everywhere... Hi Jeff! No problemo - it appears there's going to be a lot more than i anticpated... :rotfl6: Only your part... squat right down and make yourself at home. :raspberry2: :doublebeer: Jump on in, and man, tell your friends, We'll raise some hell where the blacktop ends. Alright! Grab your koozie, let's go! Glad to see you along! Once upon a time we followed the kamikaze tour plan. If there'd been spreadsheets 30 yrs ago, I'd have filled them. Now we're w

The park has a nice campground but it's down the road a couple miles. Of course it was full. This is the biggest weekend of the year and the sites are filled months in advance. Packing everything up and driving back to Maryland every night would have been a real bear. Most people did that. I didn't envy them. We were lucky. We'd been offered a spot dry camping right at the edge of the action with some other vendors. While Starla and I went out to get dinner on Thursday, DH set up the TT and was entertained watching the doggy-people and other vendors set up. He was especially amused by a guy w

School was out. We had reservations for the 4th. The TT was loaded & ready to go. Starla had put in for an extra long vacation and didn't have to return to work until August. Summer vacation lay shimmering in front of us like sunrise on a lake. But before we could actually take off we had some business to do. And as it so happened that business was at the lake. One of my friends owns a shop that sells sports/comic/diecast/action figure type collectibles. We enjoy each other's company and have gotten in the habit of working together for events. So, when she suggested we participate in the C
