  1. LOL doodle gets all the pressure while I sit here quietly behaving as usual... did somebody say pie??
  2. :holysheep: so that's what the rebel stands for!
  3. I'm late, but I'm here! Being on the first page is highly overated - or at least that's what I tell myself. :gaah: WTG Twin #1 :jumpforjoy and congrats to all 3 of the TCD girls on their accomplishments! :yourock: If you listen to what that boy (is he a boy IRL? just like Tink & Peter Pan, this is one I always have to look at twice) on the dragon is saying you might think he's much odder than the caterpillar. maybe the caterpillar is asking "whooo are youuu" b/c he wondered about that odd dragon boy too. In any case, the hippie caterpillar has a hooka and, as such, an excuse. I've seen t
  4. I was watching the Disney World Personal Shopper's epcot shopping trip this afternoon on facebook. I love the idea of handbags made from last year's F&W banners. Can't wait to see a couple in person...
  5. Only if your site is $100 a nite. Disney Travel Co pays the booking agency 10% of your package, room, or dining plan. Much less for tickets, if anything. Agents who aren't working for themselves typically have a 50/50 split with the agency owner. That means, if you book a partial site for $60, the commission would be $6 a night for an independant agency owner or $3 a night for an affliated agent. Different travel providers may pay more or less. The highest I've heard lately is 16% but that particular company doesn't handle disney. That's often why some TA's may push certain wholesalers or the
  6. Sunday we opened our eyes to a nice sunny day. That was really good too b/c DD11 was chomping at the bit to get down to the park naturalists and sign up for the kayak tour. They'd done kayak tours all day Saturday. The guy leading the tours walked around Saturday morning handing out whistles to all the kids promoting the kayaks. It worked. They filled up remarkably fast and she'd missed her opportunity to get into her first kayak on Saturday. No way was my youngest princess going to take that chance again. Even before we opened our stand, she was standing at the kayaks waiting to be first on t
  7. :jumpforjoy Karla, you're back at the fort! :jumpforjoy Looks like a really fun & informative weekend. Your photos are terrific. Thanks for posting them. I hope one day we'll be able to see his display in person. BTW is my favorite little chick magnet with you this trip? If so, give him a :bighug: for me!
  8. Those guys who use a chainsaw to make tree trunks into art always fascinate me. Apparently I'm not the only one. By lunchtime Saturday, there was an audience gathered around watching him work every time I looked. From what I could see he did very well too and almost everything sold. I took some pics of some of the creations for sale. We were especially fond of the two raccoons bench. But check out the dog he's working on. That turned out to be an awesome piece... DS34 and his GF went back to the pontoon just before sunset to watch fireworks from the water. sing it with me now... party i
  9. yes ma'am. I do have to go pick up Starla dearest at work in a little bit but I'm working on it. Go get my some-day-soon-new-mama some more macaroni salad & a sweet tea awhile and hold yer britches on...
  10. remember that nice silver mug sitting on the mess tent's counter with our breakfast? Originally they told Starla it was good for the whole weekend but the next day when she took the mug in for a refill they made her pay all over again. Boo to you, Mr rootbeer truck guy These guys must have refilled their mugs at the rootbeer barrel truck too many times. Apparently they thought they were in a medieval war or something and kept fighting all weekend. Then again, it could have been someone who bought a forever mug expressing their displeasure at being denied a refill. Fort IMs might want to tak
  11. I suspect it may be bordering on treason to even entertain such a question. You two must not have had enough rum... . I'm ready! Even added some minor pood forn just for you. Haven't given up yet. I just got caught by life and too many expectations/responsibilities here at home. Whittier is great but I've always seen him as a glass half-empty sort of guy. I like the words "it still could be". Time to get this show on the road. One thing's for sure, I could never do the quantity & quality that you manage to make look so easy. I honestly don't know how you do it but am very grateful you an
  12. Sorry Jason, John says that name is taken. He was in the TT remember? Well, at night anyway. You'll have to settle for the title of dubiously-good King Jason...
  13. Haven't checked the dates yet but a group of fiends get together every Easter week in Gettysburg, PA. You can check the Trip Reports section for pics from our last two Easter GGs in Gettysburg. Hersheypark is nearby. If you haven't seen Washington DC, that might be fun too and the cherry blossoms should be in bloom. IIRC when we lived in Ozark, AL the drive was around 15 hrs... I really like Jekyll Island GA too. Not sure if it still takes place, but when we were kids they always had a huge Easter Egg hunt in the historic area. We spent nearly every spring break there and loved it.
  14. LOL it was actually the steam show tractors keeping me away. Then my stepdad has been having some serious medical issues, DD11's cheerleading team had homecoming weekend, before that they were in a long parade in the rain, DH's nephew's wedding was the same day as homecoming, and - as if all that wasn't enough - we took a shameless 7 hr drive out to play at the Kalahari in Ohio. I'll see your rum and raise you a coconut mango rum punch from the Kalahari. :SmileyMargarita1: It may not look it, but this is one huge drink. I felt like a little kid taunting "my drink's bigger than your drink" I'v
  15. ouch, that is rough. Starla's been looking at used pups for the BF. She's seen some doozy's go by but that even looks worse than the one last week missing a part of the side & roof. IMO that ad would have been better without seeing it open inside. I give the seller major kudos for being honesty. It would be really nice to have a screened awning. I've been coveting one of those myself. Wouldn't that be awesome for keeping those adorable twins of yours contained for short spurts while you cook or shower? and if the a/c is good, then perhaps that'd cover his asking price. You could probably
  16. I've run the numbers repeatedly this year. Each time, when an AAA code was available & could be applied, it was considerably cheaper than the AP rate for the same dates. It can be hard to convince people of this. Even the CMs answering the phones don't believe me and always give me the AP quote first like I'm some newbie who hasn't a clue. They're always really surprised when I insist on a AAA quote anyway and they discover it's better. Used to be AP was the best there was. Not anymore. For a week in early Oct, AAA was nearly $100 less than AP the other day. IMO, the best possible package
  17. LOL mine too! I was sorely tempted by the TX offer we got and ran some numbers but getting to Galveston from here would cost a small fortune. We'll wait for a TAAP on the Dream or Fantasy...
  18. The site has been down most of the day for maintenance. The phone lines are still working if you don't mind the hold time. Don't rule out the Galveston TX departures either. 7 nights carribean cruises from Galveston begin at $599 from now until Dec 8...
  19. Just checked 9/30-10/17 for reference. Fall AP rate is only showing premium sites available for those dates. Not a huge discount but I guess something is better than nothing. Wed, Oct 03 - Thu, Oct 04 $ 75.05 Fri, Oct 05 - Thu, Oct 11 $ 78.85 Fri, Oct 12 - Sat, Oct 13 $ 81.70 Sun, Oct 14 - Tue, Oct 16 $ 78.85 AAA is usually a better rate these days. You might want to try that option as well. If I can help in any way feel free to ask. I've been a TA for the past 30 yrs...
  20. I can't tell you to pay no attention to the weather. I will say that a rainy day at wdw beats a dry sunny day at home every time. Have a terrific time, maybe keep a poncho handy & wear sandals - that way if you see a good puddle you can splash whoever's with you! :thumbsup1:
