There are a variety of stores across the country that do this each year. We always buy disney gift cards for our trip at Giant Food and are waiting for them to announce it again this year. There have always been two kinds but unless you're buying them online or at a disney store, normally what you see are the GCs you can use anywhere. It'd be awful to drop $1000 though only to discover they won't work at wdw or dcl. Even WOD in DTD won't accept the Disney Store only gift cards b/c they're not a DS even though they look like one. Typically there are great gift card deals at grocery stores during June. The past few years we've gotten 20% off the week before father's day at Giant Food. Last year the catalina coupons printed for Shell gas cards too the first week of the promotion

As of this moment we have June 26 to Aug 5 but - with Starla working retail, my towing anxiety, and DH's heath - I never know the arrival date for sure until we physically pull into the site. My goal is to be there by July 2 at the latest. It'd be awesome to see you there this year!

We used to go straight thru but now always go west... well except for last summer when DH missed the turn and went east over the bridge. Won't make that mistake again. I think it's 6 of 1 to a half dozen of another when comparing going thru the city vs going west time-wise but I personally like the bypass westward. BTW - I have a mean towing anxiety and don't like bridges but the 2.5 mile bridge is low and doesn't bother me...

Last year it even worked on Shell gas cards so not only did we save an extra 20% off our site and expenses but saved a bit on gas too! I've always wanted to bring home furniture pieces from the BC & GF. I see it on sale periodically on ebay, presumably after refurbs, but never a full room before. We didn't have a way to get it home before. LOL If only we didn't have to bring the GC home, I could stack that TH full...

I'd do BB too! without a doubt, especially since it's included. Love the preschool area there but you'll want to be sure to take along watershoes b/c all that white concrete is brutal on little feet. The photopass CMs at BB are awesome too and get those water shots that make it truly memorable...

I've been anxiously awaiting this news... The wdw merchandising special events team has announced that May 25 will be the day the new Rainbow Collection will debut at Trend-D in DTD. Along with the debut they'll offer the opportunity to have your new bag signed by Ian Ray. More importantly though, there'll be a special sale of the unreleased samples. Starla and I attended the first trunk sale last July and it was fabulous. Not just a sale but there was an entertainment component with wdw entertainment CMs before the doors opened that morning. It's killing me that I may miss this year's sale.

The waffles over at the Wilderness Lodge's Roaring Fork are superb too. I can never decide which of the waffle varieties I like best so end up getting one of each when we eat there...

darn, i made it back only to catch the end of your terrific TR. Have to tell you how impressive you make my lil Sunday drives look. We've gotten so used to driving the battlefield roads with the intention of getting to our destinations that I sometimes forget how truly memorable and important the area is. Thanks for reminding me. Your DD in her duck boots brought a smile to my face every time she passed. And your DS was such a trooper despite feeling bad. I wasn't quick enough to fight the kids for a cookie, but you can bet I will be next time! They looked awesome.
