  1. ahem... I leave to go pick up Starla at work and return home to find the rebel still beating the tar outa me... Hold onto your shamelessness missy, you're way too far ahead... :nyd:
  2. or, in my mother's words, "July 4 was weeks ago - are you ever coming home?" If given a choice I think we can all guess the answer to that one. It's a short one syllabel answer that might symbolically swirl off my tongue. I was good though, I bit my tongue. Sometimes so hard it was a miracle I didn't look like Scrooge's partner Marley with his drape of gauze wrapped around the head to keep his mouth closed. However, in all fairness, I couldn't blame her. We did take their grandchildren away for over a month so eventually we'd have to come home. We had to. Honestly. We did... didn't we? I'm sti
  3. That's terrific! Now the really hard part begins - waiting for the day you load up and head out... :mh1:
  4. Sorry you have a young one sick. Here's hoping he feels better very soon and you have a terrific trip!
  5. Fiend on the scene Challenge - go ahead, I double dog dare ya - take your parking pass out of the window, exit the overflow lot, drive around the corner and back in thru the gate, then tell the guard you're just stopping by to rent a bike, go fishing, or visit an unknown friend at the pool. I'm betting they'll wave you right thru anyway without checking any lists just like they did in July. Be nice if fiends on the scene this weekend could prove me wrong though...
  6. I'm late to the party as usual but... just like cousin Eddie... as soon as you think you're in the clear, there I am. Love the snooty woman pic and the assorted butts... :rofl2:
  7. :what2: we can't leave nowwwwww.... I didn't get my tonga toast yet... sniff, sniff, and I've been so good sitting quietly in the back here all this time too... :gaah:
  8. I'm in! Couldn't miss a TR from my tenting buddies. :jumpforjoy I've had those milkshakes. I'd drive down miles of long flat roads to get to them. Not sure why you're driving away from them but enjoying the sights along the way... oh and :wave1: Silvia!
  9. I forgot about the Northern Pioneers but I don't think he was talking about that. We were having a problem adjusting my rate to where it should have been when I extended and the discussion started about how the fort was like an airline flight or cruise where everybody's rate was different due to so many possible codes floating around out there. That's when he mentioned that some people rarely ever leave the fort and said some of the "old timers" had Pioneer (?) Club rates. He didn't mention anyone specific of course, like Hilda or that other guy, but those are who I guessed he might be talking
  10. I spent an inordinate amount of time at the outpost in July. While hanging around waiting, checking in & out multiple times, I had more chance to talk with CMs than I normally would have. We discussed the changes over the years and also talked about various rate codes. One of them, mentioned the longtime guests saying that some "old timers" still had carry-over discounts as members of what I think he called the "Pioneer Club". It was a month ago so I might be remembering wrong and he may have said "Frontier Club" instead of Pioneer. Either way, I've searched using both terms and can't loca
  11. In the past AP rates were always the way to go but for the past couple years, I've found the AAA rates to be better than AP. It's also nice to be able to book AAA in advance without having to wait. AP codes are typically not released more than 3-6 months in advance.
  12. so on the same night, we'd lose SM and gain the Tiki Room. yeah, that's a trade that'll keep packing them into the parks...
  13. Next to Tonga Toast, the WL wafflles are my favorite breakfast. I just can't decide which of the waffles I like best so I get them to give me one of each. Except chocolate. I don't do chocolate. In October I liked the bananas foster the best, In November it was the strawberry, but this summer there was something about the pralines and butter that just makes me say "ahhhhh" even now. hmmmm, wonder if I can have them ship me a waffle variety pack?
  14. It was really cool when BB had real snow around the snowfamily. Haven't seen that in a lot of years. Maybe it's just the days we've been. Has anyone seen that pile of real snow at BB where you pose for the pictures recently?
  15. :rotfl6: Sorry, funny old thread reference and I just couldn't resist...
  16. We spent some time last month at that Hess station fueling & putting air in the tires. DH & I were watching the mechanics (if that's what they are) that were working on the busses. It really is sort of neat to watch - at least as exciting as waiting online for a picture with Snow. It's probably something many people never even think about but, having an automotive background, DH notices service techs everywhere. We thought the multiple bays for servicing wdw vehicles looked very efficient. Now if only they could make the air machine on the tourist side work properly, it'd be just about
  17. TL fan here. BB is cool but IMO TL is more family friendly. More readily available chairs - especially in the kiddie area - and less hot concrete to burn little feet. The beach area doesn't seem as crowded or as compact at TL as it is at BB so it's easier to stake a place for little people to play in the sand. It's usually easier to get a tube in the lazy river, Crush & Gusher rocks, and you don't have to go as far for the drink stands either. Add to that a possible meet & greet with Lilo & Stitch at TL and you've got a full day of excrement at TL for sure.
  18. Great start! :welcome2: I've camped at the fort in a tent with only a fan in August. It wasn't nearly as awful as people say it is. Can't wait to hear what you thought...
  19. They took the feeder out when we were there in July. Our favorite bike barn cm said he thought it was more for show than for go...
  20. oops, Mo beat me to it. See that's what I like most about FF. There's always a quick response to most any post. :thumbsup1:
  21. So glad you got it booked! From what I've seen you'll always get more info - and it's accurate too - here as opposed to some other places out there. As for FF travel agents, Judy has an ad on the site with her contact info. I think Roz might too but you can usually find her on the cruise board if you don't see it. And I'm an agent as well.
