A Buckeye - Better Late Than Never - Trip Report
BuckeyeFortFan replied to BuckeyeFortFan's topic in Trip Reports
Day # 2. Today we are heading to the Animal Kingdom. Now normally when we do the AK, I like to get an 8 am ADR for Donald’s Safari Breakfast at the Tusker House. The food is excellent and it is one of the few places to meet Daisy. Also, when you finish breakfast you just stroll outside and walk on the safari ride, ahead of the mass of humanity making its way from rope drop at the front gate. This year that did not happen. For some reason I was unable to get an ADR for breakfast before 9 am, even though I started making my ressies 4 months before the trip. This is getting to be a very po -

Thanks so much and I am super envious of your upcoming HDDR plans. Have a great time, eat and drink too much and get pics! Thanks, and I will! Kenny is cool man, cool. Not sweet. Cool. Let's see. Cute girls with big boobs personalities wallowing around in whip cream. Who's going to want to see that? I am, you could be too. Yep! Thanks! Coming soon! Good to meet you guys too. It was a great trip and I am working on the next installment now! -
A Buckeye - Better Late Than Never - Trip Report

Kenny brought the cart by the site at about 11:30 am. I always want to get a pic of Kenny but that guy is fast! He’s there and then he’s gone! We saw him several times around the Fort during the week, but he was always moving. I don’t know if he is busy or ducking the Fort PoPo. I’m sure it’s the former but I like to imagine it’s the latter and I am part of a golf cart underground network! Anyway….here is the picture of cart #1. I call it cart #1 because Kenny is going to trade if for a 6 person cart tomorrow! It was already booked for this day. This 4 person cart was great. Fast, cl -

Thanks Rita, it was good to see your guys too. I hope I can keep this TR rolling! Thank you so much :heartsmiley: If it is big it is purely by accident, but I will try! Fortunately I have come to this realization before it is too late and we are trying our best to make all of this time we can, even if it kills us! Did you really come by or did you dream that you did after too much punch! Hush woman!!! I am trying to do a trip report here! Hooray for me! Your 5 year old is destined for greatness. Next time I will bring my Brutus! I have to give the credit to my wife for the pumpkin s -
A Buckeye - Better Late Than Never - Trip Report

So, as we headed south between Columbia and Savannah, my wife placed the call to WDW reservations. The cast member was extremely helpful. She was actually able to find our reservation and then was able to confirm that we could add a night even though it was that night! Woo Hoo! And then, I told my wife “ask her if there are any passholder discounts.” She asked. Silence. More silence. And then she came back on and said “this never happens but there is a discount site available and we will need to credit you $33 when you check in.” WHAT??? Not only do we get to pull into the Fort a nigh -
Hey there everyone! Thanks for jumping in! I have never written a TR before, but during every trip I have told my wife that I was going to do one this time. Well, after 4 trips to the Fort in a little over a year she has finally nagged me into doing one. First things first. We live in Ohio, and can see I-77 from our house. It is nearly 1000 miles from home to FW. We drive a super cab F250 and pull a 29 ft Jayfeather. There is me, my wife (BuckeyFortMama) and our four kids, DD8, DD6, DS4 and DS1. For those of you who are paying attention and are good at math, in the last 13 months we we

Hey! Look at me! 1st page of a TCD TR!!! TCD, we missed you again . The Buckeye Fort Family pulled out the Saturday morning after your arrival. Site 1313. We did have a wonderful week of weather but I hate packing up in the rain. Looking forward to more of your TR!

Cinderella's Royal Table-ADR
BuckeyeFortFan replied to Laura's topic in WDW and Disney Park Discussions
1. Showing up early for an ADR has worked for us in the past, but we had a ressie within the hour. If you walk up with no ressie I think they will laugh, politely of course, and tell you there is no availablity. 2. Any availability for lunch or dinner? The experience is just as enjoyable. Lunch is not as much $$$ as dinner. -
Let's talk travel days...
BuckeyeFortFan replied to rdancemom... Pam's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
I prefer to drive on a weekday and don't like to drive on Sunday. There is always the possibility of a flat tire or other mechanical issue that needs to be addressed and it is alot easier to take care of on a weekday. For the same reason I like to drive in the daytime. Usually leave home at about 7 or 8 am and stop someplace in South Carolina in the evening, then hit it early again, whenever we wake up, for the remainder of the trip. -

I searched and searched right after the flush because I knew you couldn't keep these crazy SOB's down, but I never did get any results with search engines, I assume because there wasn't enough content at that time to trigger a result. So I just lurked Voldemort until one day, an old trip report was bumped to the top. This seemed strange, so I took a peek and...lo and behold, all of the pictures in the trip report had been replaced with Snarky Logos and the name of the new site! I might still be looking if it wasn't for that trip report! Crazy SOB's.

TCD's Flippin' Awesome July 4 2011 Fort Trip Report!
BuckeyeFortFan replied to Tri-Circle-D's topic in Trip Reports
I have heard of Keith Stone, but I like to look at pretty girls and being beer commercials they are a must have. Were there any around him at the fort? If not then I seriously call into question his "smoothness". -
Hey, TCD! This looks like the basketball court on the 1400 loop. Is it? I know it is because I walked by that white Super Duty on my way to the comfort station every morning (sometimes I had to run.) The Buckeye clan was just to your right in the Little Bear Loop....1460! I think we went to Epcot this rainy day. It's a good park to do in the rain. Please proceed.

It's An Old Dog; New Tricks; Pop And Fort TCD Trip Report

You're referring to Terrance I believe...he is the boy fairy with the acorn hat. Met him. What about him was so riveting as to put TCD at a loss for words? -

I don't think that is a real fairy. Although she is an attractive girl, she's a little chunky and showing too much mammary tissue to be a fairy. With DD 8 and 6 I think I have met them all. Also I have not seen a Disney character carrying a purse like that. -
One of the few good reasons to live up here....hardly any snakes!

Rope Drop -or- Relax and Enjoy??
BuckeyeFortFan replied to BradyBzLyn...Mo's topic in WDW and Disney Park Discussions
We are the masters of rope drop. I don't really care for the shows they put on right before - like everything else, they haven't changed in the last decade or two. I also hate fighting all the other jerks to get to that first attraction. However, you can't beat how much you can get done in that first hour or two before all the late risers start flooding into the park. We do more before 11 am than most people do all day! Then we are ready for lunch when the restaurants open, again no lines as everyone else is still full from their 9am breakfast and trying to get on their 2nd ride of the da -

Do the ferry companies send a shuttle to the campground for guests like they do the hotels? We like to go to M.I. for 3 days or so but like to take the TT and combine it with a camping trip, but then I have to let a ferry company employee park the truck and trailer in the overnight parking and pay crazy $$$ to do it. I considered renting a site at a campground so the TT could be hooked to electricity for the fridge, and then take a shuttle to the ferry dock to go to the island. Any thoughts? -
Thanks for the heads up. I have been checking that site every couple of days for months waiting for a discount. I quit checking last week as we are busy getting ready to leave Thursday. I was able to get a premium site for 8 days for $12 more than my full hookup. Granted, the change actually cost me $$$ but now I can hob-nob with the millionaires in the high rent district!

Which is better for crowds?
BuckeyeFortFan replied to BouncingTiggers's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
2 words for you...Jersey Week. We were there the week after halloween 2010 with half the state of New Jersey. Apparently all their schools get 2 or 3 days off for teacher in-service that week. Any show we went to they would ask a volunteer "Where are you from?". The answer 90% of the time was "New Jersey" and the remainder of the audience would cheer. :D Will not go that week again if I can help it. -
Would you drive to Epcot from FW
BuckeyeFortFan replied to Momof6....aka Marty's topic in WDW and Disney Park Discussions
We always drive to EPCOT, AK and DHS and sometimes MK, especially if you want to make rope drop. I leave the campground 45 - 60 minutes before rope drop and thats with tickets in hand (you will want to leave sooner if you have to get tickets.) EPCOT is a pretty good walk from the parking lot, then you have to go through bag check if you are carrying anything, then line up at the turnstiles. They will open those gates 10 - 15 minutes before rope drop and stop you again between Innoventions for the pre-rope drop show. If you are right on the rope you will get to shake the characters hands
