I just received an answer to my e-mail to Steve. He has gone out on his own and has a stock of his own carts. He plans on continuing the great service he has always given. I think the comments about the old employer may be valid in that they shot themselves in the foot by attempting a "spam" campaign. I'm updating my site now. It seems Kenny may have competition for the cart business! -

I just sent an e-mail to him asking about the drama. His old "employer" sent me an e-mail asking me to call so they could get is name off my web page.At this point I'm waiting for him to reply, but my gut feeling is that I will continue to recommend him. It was Steve that gave me great personalized service in the past, not the company he worked for. JMHO -

Old post, but I just saw it (and I think I'm still within the 4 year planning window) We did almost 3 weeks a few years ago. Here are the highlights/suggestions.Minimize time on Oahu, Do the Arizona memorial and any other "tourist" spot you may be interested in and get the heck off the island. It's a big city with lots of traffic!! If/when we go back Oahu is off the list of places to go. Been there, done that! Maximize time on the big island and Maui Look into Vacation Rentals by Owner for places to stay Save your money and spend it on flying Business/First class - It's a long flight!! P

Seasonal Camping
tim5055 replied to Just Whipperwhirl's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
Another idea would be to "volunteer" at a national forest/state park campground as a host. Every jurisdiction is different, but generally a free site for X number of hours a week. -
2 German Shepherd Dogs and 4 cats, all chipped!!

No need to panic. You do need to wait until 499 from last day of reservation, as you can only book dates within the 499 day window. On the first day you would only be able to book the first day of your reservation....No need to panic! They are members of the board who happen to be travel agents (great ones from what I hear)

Why You Don't Keep Pets Loose In Pop-Ups
tim5055 replied to BRDof3...Rob's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
The entire time we have had Natasha she has have full run of the pop up, never crated or caged. She thinks the pop up is her "crate" We leave the A/C on and the music on low and she is happy to sleep all day. Now that she is older (close to 13) the sleep is longer and longer. Now, we just picked up a second German Shepherd Dog and I do believe he will be staying in a crate in the pop up. He will be going on his first camping trip this weekend so we will see how things work out. -
While many folks here use Kenny, the company I have used is Golf & Electric Vehicles Group, also known to folks around here as "Steve" They have 2 passenger, 4 passenger and 6 passenger golf cars available for rental. Additionally, they offer gas and electric vehicles, although electric is preferable due to less noise and pollution. A rental agreement must be signed and faxed to them before delivery can be made. Payment by check or cash due upon delivery of vehicles. When I used them this is how it worked: On the appointed day they road up to my site in the cart and the day were were

Bed Sheets For Camper
tim5055 replied to Just Whipperwhirl's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
As others have said, plain sheets are the least expensive option. Sheets USA does sell custom sized sheets for each manufacturer of camper/pop up. -
Interesting Fw Review
tim5055 replied to tim5055's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
OK, I'm going to cut some parts out of other reviews (most apply to the cabins): I don't think I'd let kids play on the floor of any hotel room! Did he expect a car to drive him around? Kenny positive... Kenny kind of negative... -
I found the following review on Trip Advisor and just found it interesting reading:

I have always installed a central vacuum system in any home we own as Natasha sheds a small dog every two days or so. I have found that this is the perfect system for removing the bugs (there is no getting rid of them). The central system vents to the outside so no stink smell in the house and all the bugs are gone. Every few weeks I spray some Raid in the Vac hose and wait a day. Then it is time to empty out a few pounds of dead bugs.

Cloudland Canyon this weekend
tim5055 replied to ImDownWithDisney's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
Unless they have changed things you will not have a reserved site, just a reserved type of site. Kind of like FW, but at CC the types of sites are mixed in the two loops. IIRC there is a colored sign at the front of each site to let you know what type it is. You just drive around find a site you like and put the card with your name on it on the pole out front when you find a nice one.HERE is my review from your trip in 2005 -

tim5055 replied to BradyBzLyn...Mo's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
I'm not sure which website you're cutting and pasting from (there are many out there). The train ran until 1980 when it was permanently shut down. From 1977 to 1980 it only ran on selected days - usually the weekends - but not every weekend. When it ran depended on the Fort's occupancy rate. The roundhouse was eventually turned into a cast member building that is still referred to as "The Roundhouse". There are many different thoughts on why the train went away. The most recurrent theory is that the train was too costly to maintain and operate. I would assume it came from HERE. That p -

Sorry, I read too fast. I don't have anything on the trams other than remember riding on them during visits in the mid 80's. I always liked them better than the buses. -
