Main Street Bakery closing?

There go my ice cream sandwiches! -
Great park! This is the furthest south we will make it this year. This is about our fifth trip here because we love to walk the dogs on the beach. Natasha's hips are going, so she probably won't make it to the beach and it may be her last trip here. Sitting in the campground in a tee shirt now, but its going to get cool later. Wait, red Solo cup is empty, so it's time to go for now.

We have RCCL to Alaska booked for next year, can't wait. They have just changed two policies that may be of interest to some: You can no bring 2 bottles of wine with you when you board (per cabin) As of this week they have begun selling unlimited alcohol packages. Pricy at $55 a day, but may be worth it for some in this group :)

Firewood delivery?
tim5055 replied to ependydad...Doug's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
this almost sounds like a sideline for Kenny to get into. Deliver wood & carts at the same time! -
Well, I've been lucky - never any water. My main reason - it's very quiet back there.

I have always stayed away from the 1800 sites back by the canal because Natasha is really not friendly to other dogs, and those sites get a lot of foot traffic with folks going to the canal. Our new guy, Niko loves other dogs so maybe it's time to try those sites. What about 1900? I've always liked the sites in the back of the loop that back up to woods.

Camping off of I-75?
tim5055 replied to travlinohio's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
Our favorite places are usually State Parks. We really liked Silver River State Park and when going 75 usually do a couple of nights there before the mouse http://www.floridast...rg/silverriver/ -
I have an aft balcony booked for my Alaska trip next year on RCCL. Everone says they are gerat, so I'm looking forward to it.

Not as sad as me....when I lived in Florida I could pop up for the weekend on the spur of the moment. Not so much anymore. I can see the retirement light at the end of the tunnel, so hopefully I will be able to attend some "gatherings".

I'm beginning to think I'll never make it back to FW. With work intruding on my leisure time, I haven't been able to make it in a couple of years. I can live vicariously through you all though.... So, my FIL decided he would like to check out Alaska. The DW & I have always wanted to cruise it, so off we go.... The DW & I were married on a Royal Caribbean ship (long before Disney saw the $ in cruising, and so long ago that RCCL no longer has the ship) so we are kind of partial to them. So, next July here is what we will be doing: Day 1 Vancouver, British Columbia board ship 6:00 PM

Cloudland Canyon State Park, GA
tim5055 replied to mouseketab.....Carol's topic in Pictures from other Campgrounds
Agreed, west rim is much nicer. When we lived in Atlanta this was one of our favorite spots. IIRC you book a "type" of site and then its first come, first served for the "type" you booked, something like any red site,or any blue site. A call to the rangers might help in making sure you reserve the correct type, then hope for a good one. -
Pet rule updated again?
tim5055 replied to BradyBzLyn...Mo's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
As of January 2011 the website was changed to: Pets Pets like to go on vacation, too, so we offer a limited number of pet-friendly Preferred Hook-Up and Premium campsites. Pets are not permitted to stay in vehicles without air-conditioning or at tent sites. It changed again in June 2011 to: Pets Pets like to go on vacation, too, so we offer a limited number of pet-friendly Preferred Hook-Up and Premium campsites. All pets must be kept on a handheld leash that is 6 feet or shorter or confined in the interior of the owner's personal recreational vehicle. For pop-ups and tents, pets must b- 11 replies

I remember in the late 70s (before cell phones) I was staying at the Contemporary with the first wife. We got back to the room to find the message waiting light on. When we called for the message we were told a manager was on the way up. When the manager arrived at our room my wife was asked to give her mom a call. The manager stayed as he knew that her father had a stroke and had passed away. As we lived in Miami and were driving no reservations were needed, but they stayed with us and helped pack and take our luggage down to the car. We were told not to worry about checking out, that t

While I agree it is a gread depiction of the classification of sites, it appears to me to be something put together by an individual - not Disney for a couple of reasons: I can't remember seeing an official Disney product emphasize no anything like this shows "NO RVS" for the tent loops. I don't ever remember seeing Disney calling the 1600-1900 loops the "cloverleaf area" The new icons (pet friendly and circles) obstruct other items in several areas (AED, CS icons) The printing date is 2001 The loop designation descriptions in the upper right and the FWR&C in the lower left are where offi

Standing at the front door of the WL to the closest point onthe monorail line would be about 1155 feet/352 meters (crossing all WL parking lots, and also crossing World Drive). So, it would be almost 1/4 mile. I would't mind it but many folks would object to a monorail station that far away.Note: All measurements made using Google Earth, so I might be off jsut a little.

I have always thought of it as an attraction. If you recall, after WDW upgraded their system they sold monorails to Las Vegas. While those WDW cars have been phased out, they are still running a similar system, but running out of money. http://www.lvrj.com/business/las-vegas-monorail-tries-again-to-get-on-track-138702339.html So, it would appear that an entity like Disney can support it as part of an overall attraction/experience but in the real world it can't support itself.

Kodiak anyone?
tim5055 replied to Mama Steph's topic in Camper Suggestions: from tents to Class A beauties
Actually, the salesman is correct from his point of view.popup = small commission TT = larger commission Your wants, needs or even the safety of your family is usually of no consiquence to an RV salesman. His job is to separate you from the largest amount of your money he can, or if you don't have money he will finance almost anything to almost anybody. I'm of the school of being overly safe. I pull a pop up (OK, a LARGE pop up) with an F-250 Diesel. As we continue to look at different options as we move forward (Fiver, Class C, Class A...) we encounter many salesmen. I was looking at a ve -
Those are the correct words!!Publix Carrot Cake was our wedding cake. Too bad we can't get it in the northern Virginia area. Retirement will take us to western NC with a publix about 90 minutes south (Georgia) or east (SC). With a little luck Publix will expand into NC by then.

Not going to touch the issue of the lawyers.... No matter what, I agree you MUST have your cart insured. I have heard many excuses not to have it with the most common being "my homeowners insurance covers it". Looking into it, I have found many exclusions on homeowners polices and even some "golf cart" policies. It seems many of these are written for folks who live in golf cart communities and the policy only covers them on the community cart trails and on the golf course. Once yo load it on the truck and go to FW you loose coverage. I had mine written as an additional motor vehicle on my

Actually, many of the pop up manufacturers went with lifetime warranty's on certain parts. Coleman (Fleetwood) started it many years ago with lifetime on floors and lift systems and for several years they had lifetime on the ABS roof. But, that was before Fleetwood sold the pop up business and the new owner couldn't make and money and closed the plant.

What documents do they require for Fido ?
tim5055 replied to Mamma_Eagle's topic in Camping for Pets
You know, Disney and/or Best friends is not the final authority on what documentation you need when traveling into Florida. Florida statute actually specifies what you need. From the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services web site, here are the Q&A regarding importing (yup, going to Disney for vacation with your animal is importing it into Florida) animals into Florida: OK, I added a little bold and red to show you the three things that jump out at me. Now, I'm not saying anyone has ever asked me for a health certificate, or actually even a rabies vaccination certificat
