  1. I love this rule!! Too many times I hear "my friends have done it", " my brother has done it" or "my _______ has done it" (fill in the blank) and it works fine. The damage from towing over your limits can be slow or fast: Slow- The transmission slowly tearing itself apart. Fast- Trying to stop an overweight combination in an emergency situation. It just might not stop!
  2. Well, if thinking used: Purchasing a Used Pop-Up-Camper Pricing for specific makes and models are different for different areas of the country One good source for pricing information is the NADA Guides. As to the rest, just make sure that you go through the camper, part by part. You should set it up and take it down whole drill - from start to finish with the owner BUT make sure that you do it with them. Inspect roof for any damage or abrasions Check latches and seal for proper seating (recheck this when you close it back) Make sure the lift system is in order and works correctly - let th
  3. One of the most confusing areas for anyone considering a new pop-up is the aspect of "what can I tow, and which hitch should I purchase?". Before you go any further, get your vehicle owners manual, and determine what your limits are. Easier said than done! As towing capacities of vehicles are based on several factors including the vehicle frame type (unibody or frame), engine, transmission, rear end gear ratio, tires/load range, engine cooling capacity, transmission cooling capacity, alternator capacity as well as several other things. Woe is the camper who went out and purchased a pop-up
  4. Forget online, the shipping will kill you. I got my last set at a Sam's club, but in many locations BJ's & Costco carry them also. In most states to support recycling, there is a "core" charge that will be refunded when you return the old batteries. Fifure $75 per battery at least.
  5. Does staying all night for Grad Night count?
  6. html was misspelled http://www.sunrvresorts.com/grandlake.html
  7. Obviously every one is different (there are 3 sizes of RV A/C units), but I can hang meat in my pop up with the A/C on high.
  8. Not a problem, the DW & I are both SCUBA divers......
  9. Must have been when I was there :rofl3: 1900 is my favorite. With a little luck we will be there early in the Christmas season this year.
  10. Or, come to DC and get a job as a meter maid, Oh sorry, Parking Enforcement Officer. They ride them also.
  11. I'm sure it has less to do with being local or passing the test. I'd bet money it has to do with $$$ to Disney. :grumpy2:
  12. Sorry, I don't see this as an area government should be getting into. They are going to track guests within the confines of the Disney property. When it really comes down to it, what "privacy" concerns should I have with that? That someone finds out I like Big Thunder Mountain, but never ride the Tea Cups; that I had a turkey leg for lunch? I can see it now, Department of Commerce park audit police. As it is now, Disney already has most of my personal information in their computers. Name, DOB,cars I drive, camper I own, it goes on and on. Is the government going to investigate that? I ju
  13. I still have some "A" - "B" - "C" - "D" - "E" tickets, waiting for the day. :clint:
  14. actually, you can. But they have a nice wall,of gun lockers in security (just back stage off Main Street) and ask that you check them in. I actually have a safe bolted through the floor of the camper,so we can secure items while we are out. Plus, there is usually a German Shepherd Dog protecting the camper!
  15. I know this is an old post, but I just found the listing for the place we rented on the big island Click link to see it
  16. My favorite sites are: PPL Motorhomes (they sell everything) http://www.pplmotorhomes.com/ Commonwealth Boat Brokers& King RV - Bank Repo Specialists http://www.commonwealthboatbrokers.com/index.asp
  17. We stayed at Pine Grove as a base to visit the Hershey RV show. It's a nice quiet park with lots of hiking and fields for games. But, there is a little walking involved. When I booked, I found the staff helpful on the phone to pick a site that would be good for the dogs.
  18. I visited when they were installing the vegetation and sprinklers. I thought they would come back and make a permanent connection. Guess I was wrong.
  19. we actually have a favorite site in the furthest loop from the beach. Just took Niko for his first ever walk on the beach. Natasha is happy just to lay by the fire.
  20. Weird, half of those I'm fine on, the other half I avoid. Teacups are also on my no ride list.
