Animal Kingdom Villas Officially Sold Out
tim5055 replied to AC in A2......Aaron's topic in The DVC Forum
I still wonder what the saturation point is... At some point they have to run out of folks who will buy in IMHO. -
Well, I'm a little late in my reply.... We lived in Cobb for about five years and our three favorite places for a quick weekend were: Cloudland Canyon McKinney Campground (COE on Altoona) Victoria Campground (COE on Altoona - closed in the winter) We then started exploring norther GA to the northeast of Altanta (think the Blue Ridge area) before we ended up buying three acres of land just over the NC line from GA. There is a lot of pretty camping in that area!

I think calling will be close to useless. You won't get to talk to the site assigner and most of the CMs will be confused as to why you are calling. A week may be too soon for a fax. Central reservations moves the reservation over to FW at about the four day mark, so any fax they get before that will get "filed" in whatever system they use until they get your reservation. At that point you hope they find the fax..... I know my thinking has changed radically when I switched from a pop up to a 35' TT. I really like to know what the road ahead looks like so I don't get "trapped" in a situ -

I have been reading this over and going over everything in my head. I will admit, a glass of wine has cleared my thinking some :wine: My first camping trip was in 73 or 74 and the Fort we know today is a mere shadow of what it was then. Things have been added, deleted, changed and mucked with all the time. People are saying the beach won't be the sam, but I thought that when they stopped allowing swimming. I can remember swimming to the right of the marina dock in what is now just water grass and reeds. Do I like the parking lot location, no. Would like them to move it, yes. But as o -
Campground with a ocean view?
tim5055 replied to h2odivers...Ray's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
Can I assume the friend is traveling from OK? If so anything on the east coast of FL is out of the way. Instead of a northerly route, they could take a southern route (I-20/I-10) and hit the panhandle of FL, also know as the Redneck Riviera. The nicest campground in the FL State Park system is the Topsail Hill Preserve State Park. Part of Topsail is the Gregory E Moore RV Resort, which was a private 5 star RV resort until purchased by the State. The Gregory E Moore RV Resort has 156 sites with water, 30 or 50 amp electric, digital cable, sewer, (non-heated) swimming pool, laundry facil -

That is a beautiful rig!! I would say it's pushing the limits of that pick up so please drive carefully. -
TCD, Thanks!! The downside to that rout is that Niko loves to ride on a golf cart. I was hoping there was a way to drive there.... Well, a moot point for me a guess as we are among the few that like the 1900 loop
-
OK, Here is a question I have regarding pets..... Say I'm staying n the 900 loop with Niko. How do I get to the dog park? Both ends of Big Pine Drive have "No Pets Beyond This Point" signs. Cut through the 500 Loop? Well, to do thay I have to walk past the Comfort Station which has "No Pets Beyond This Point" signs. So, what am I missing?

Well, I'm going o throw my vote in for Full Hook Up sites. You know you will end up on 1600 - 1900 loops and they ae a littel easier to get into. I have a 35' TT with 2 slides and a large awning and had no problems in the 1900 loop! Welcome -
I wouldn't worry too much. The attraction CM's are good at assisting and making sure he will be able to experience the World! On many rides alternate entrances are used for guests in a wheelchair so they can transition to the ride at their own pace. Have fun.

Now you are just playing to his ego! -
Ouch, that hurt....

Oh, I forgot.... Everything you read on the web is true :rofl3:

Are we sure he is a CM? I had to go back over there to read the thread. I can't say I'm impressed with the way he spelled (OK, numbered) it out....

While having rules does help cover their butt, the enforcement or them would require a lot of training and documentation if action is taken. I don't ever see them allowing anyone who is not a manager asking someone to leave and then that opens up new cans of worms. Think about it. CM#1 asks me to pack up and leave. They note the file that I violated a rule and my remaining balance was refunded. Two years later they are served with a lawsuit from me saying I was evicted because I am Scottish (we are a protected class you know). They need to have a system in place to be able to refute suc

This is where I get confused over how Disney does things. In all my years camping I can't remember ever running into a campground that divided up the place and said pets can camp over here, but not there. I've seen them that say certain breeds are not permitted and I've seen them prohibit pets entirely. Can't take the on trails, yup, seen that one. Not in the playground area, again I've seen it. Never have see anything like Disney is trying to do. I'm sure now everyone will start showing me examples, but as I said I've never experienced it. I will admit, with Natasha and now Niko (G

Well, I found my TR (below) for the land portion, but for the life of me I can't find the cruise portion - but some thoughts first: RCCL does offer the reverse of what we did, starting in Anchorage and ending in Vancouver. As you want to end in Vancouver, check out the train trip from there to Seattle. It sounded fun and may save you in airfare. As I pointed out in my TR, Verizon does not have data in Alaska (or they didn't when we were there). Data is expensive on the ship, but most ports have places close to the ship where you can get it. Here goes for the TR We had a great time, but I'm

This is what we did last year. The DW & I were married on a Royal Caribbean ship (long before Disney saw the $ in cruising, and so long ago that RCCL no longer has the ship) so we are kind of partial to them. I need to find my TR. PUP question
tim5055 replied to Travisma's topic in Camper Suggestions: from tents to Class A beauties
those had to be really old manuals. Coleman didn't advise using the stabilizers for tire changing for many years. As the frames got thinner/smaller they had to make sure you didn't warp the frame so the rules slowly changed. Level side to side using the wheels (any of the systems noted above), chock the wheels, then level front to back using the tongue jack. At that point you can raise the roof. Now, some manufacturers had different recommendations. The link in my signature will take you to my web page which so far has been devoted to camping in pop ups. -
Tire Pressure Monitoring
tim5055 replied to tim5055's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
pressure Pro says you can continue to use your rubber stems, but recommends metal with new tires. From their web site: Valve stems: PressurePro works equally well with rubber or metal stems. Most stems have a rubber seat that are subject to the same deterioration as tires and should be changed at the same interval. We recommend metal stems at your next tire replacement. -
Tire Pressure Monitoring
tim5055 replied to tim5055's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
A blowout is what I really want to avoid. They paid for themselves already in my book. I'm just surprised that there was no difference in how the tire looked between 80, 60, and 40 pounds -
I consider myself a little over the top when it comes to towing and equipment. Before every trip I torque the lug nuts, check air pressure in all tires and generally make sure everything is working. This has served me well all the years we had the pop up. With the purchase of a 35' 6,000 pound (dry) trailer I took a friends suggestion and purchased a tire pressure monitoring system. After doing research and talking to people whose opinions I,trust I agreed that I needed one and settled on the PressurePro TPMS offered by http://www.tirepressuremonitor.com Yesterday I towed 12 hours from SC to
