  1. 2 units usually require 50 amp electric. Not all manufacturers offer a trailer with 50 amp as an option.
  2. i guess they have to keep,it confusing so folks walk away not using something. Back to the A B C D E tickets. How many folks still have those in a drawer unused......
  3. darn, see the things I miss when I have a few glasses of wine..... So, even staying at at a hotel I buy an X day pass, no matter how many hotel nights?
  4. I think Mo hit the nail on the head. Day of week/time of year is a major factor. If you check in on a Sunday you may wait for a Florida resident weekend warrior to vacate a site for you to move into. If I can work out the schedule I like a mid week arrival. We generally drive into Fla., at least to the welcome rest area. We catch a nap in the camper then get up early to get through (read that as miss) Orlando rush hour traffic and into the Fort early. We are lucky that we have never had to wait for a site, but then again, we like the 1900 loop which seems to be the red haired step child of lo
  5. Mo, remember a northern campground has a "season" in which they have to make all their money for the whole year. They still pay a lot of bills those months the campground is under snow.
  6. Glad we made our purchase in time. I bought 4 10 day hopper non-expiring. We figure 3 park days per trip, with a trip every 18 months or so. We are covered for more than the next 10 years.... After that it will probably be hotels and length of stay passes.
  7. yea, but this will cover us for several years. By that time we will have hit the lottery and will be staying at the Grand Floridian with length of stay passes and a free meal plan!
  8. I missed this when you posted it. That is one spectacular photo! This is the kind you use a photo to canvas joint and hang it on the wall.
  9. OK, off bourbon for a moment with a question.... How many folks just use rest stops/areas for a quick rest then drive on? I have done rest areas and WalMarts for a quick sleep on the road.....
  10. That is what is wonderful in life, we love 1900. And Niko (German Shepherd Dog) has no problems with the droppings.
  11. Hijack alert Two points: 1. I worked forPublix all through high school (still have the stock I bought) and while "Mr. George" was alive Publix didn't sell beer or wine at all. 2. About 10 years ago we were moving from Maryland to Atlanta. We arrived Sunday on the first day of a 10 day house hunting trip, staying at an extended stay hotel. We hit Publix to stock up the refrigerator. As the cashier was ringing up the order she stopped, looked at us and said "you all ain't from round here are you?" Looking at the wine we selected. Nope, no beer/wine sales on Sunday in that Atlanta suburb.......
  12. 1800 would be your next best bet. It is also nice because it has access to a canal dog walk.
  13. that would be half a comfort station. 1500 share with 1600
  14. interesting, I just ordered a book along those lineshttp://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0895263874/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  15. you and I think alike. Describe WHAT you want in a loop and then ask which matches, not what is the best loop. The "best" loop is too subjective. I have found that what is best for me usually doesn't match many other folks. Probably why I can almost always get 1900.....
  16. well, if you have reserved Full Hook Up, the only four loops are 1600 - 1900. All four are together off of a spur drive from the main road. We prefer 1900 as it is in the back and just a little quieter. But, the center of the 1900 loop can become a lake in wet seasons.
  17. agreed. A good TA is worth their weight in gold.
  18. It's best to pay cash (the Dave Ramsey in me), but if you must finance explore all options. Local bank, credit union, the dealership or even Good Sam Club. Know what you can get elsewhere and the dealership can't prey on you while emotions are high. Take your time and make a decision based on facts, not emotion when the salesman says it Amy not,be here tomorrow. Remember, if an RV salespersons lips are moving, untruths are probably coming out....
  19. wow, already trying to up your post count.......Oh, questions answered - hijack time
  20. double check the prices and compare to Undercover Tourist. UT has the best prices I have seen other than military and other "special" discounts. Speaking of military, if any one in your group is active or retired you can get tickets through the welfare & morale office at a local base or at Shades of Green when you get to Disney.
  21. Agree with other, time your trip through Atlanta. We lived there for five years and the only traffic worse is the DC area and Manhattan. OK, maybe throw in LA but that is a long way away. ATL Rush "hour" starts early, it's busy by 7AM and goes later than most places. I would say come down 75 between 11 and 2, much later you will hit going home traffic heading out of the city. Personally, I would also get as far south of Atlanta as you can so the next day travel is short. I like to get to Disney early. Not so early that you can't get into a site, but early enough that it is not a wasted day. I
