Online Check-in?
freshlybarked replied to pbryan's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
We always do on-line check in. Does it make a difference? I don't know but we have never been longer than about 10 minutes checking in. -
Shan-Man has a home, Fort Bound soon?!

FASTPASS+ Testing at MK 4/29-5/3
freshlybarked replied to BradyBzLyn...Mo's topic in WDW and Disney Park Discussions
We just missed our on our April trip. We head back in July so I hope we can try this. If not then in November. We have annual passes so I'm looking forward to the new Fastpass system. -
I like the idea of having an additional tag that has you location on it. Great idea since 90% of our camping is at FW.

When we were at FW last week we were riding our bikes one night to the fireworks and trotting along the other side of the road was what looked like a very lost and scared Saint Bernard. He wouldn’t come to the many who tried calling him, but he finally did lay down along the road where the people usually block traffic for the fireworks. He was surrounded by a couple people and Disney employees so I’m assuming he was in good hands. How he got out and where he came from I don’t know. I did a check of people there for the fireworks to see if any of them were traveling with that type of dog an

Trouble at the Fort
freshlybarked replied to dsnylvr's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
I wish I could have grabbed my camera quicker, but we were there last week and coming back from one of the parks (driving our car) and going the opposite on the road way was a flatbed trailer with a small travel trailer on it. It took me a second to realize what it was. At first I thought it was a display trailer because you could see the entire kitchen inside. I soon realized that it was probably that trailer and it was being moved. The slide was completely off and laying separate on the flat bed and the area where it would have been was completely exposed and the top had a huge dent the s -
Epcot Flower & Garden Festival 2013

He takes an average of 4,000 pictures on a weeks trip. Oh, for the days of film cameras where you had to limit your pictures. -
Finally - accessible travel trailers
freshlybarked replied to ftwildernessguy's topic in Camping with DisAbilities
Went to the Tampa RV show two weeks ago and saw a couple towables that had wheel chair lifts built into the side and showers that were wheel chair ready. I also don't know why it has take so long for this to come about. It opens camping up to so many more people. -
Just found this thread and I'm very interested in dog nutrition. While I don't feed "raw" I do feed a freeze dried "raw" called Grandma Lucy's to Tayla, our 14 month old Golden. I have also been dehydrating raw chicken, beef liver, hearts and kiidneys as well as sweet potatoes and hot dogs for both of them. They get a little of the raw meet as I'm chopping it up for dehydration and they love it. Dehydrated it lasts for about 10 days and I use it not only for training (hot dogs), but as really good girl treats. Tayla and sometimes Jesse also get a raw knuckle bone just about every night to

Epcot Flower & Garden Festival 2013
freshlybarked replied to BradyBzLyn...Mo's topic in WDW and Disney Park Discussions
You could say that it's a big draw. We have some incredible pictures, but it's slow moving because every few feet we stop to take a picture of something and there may be multiple angles to shoot from, day and night. Nice memories, but it takes us about 2 days to cover everything. At least this year I will have a wonderful beverage to enjoy while I'm waiting. -
Epcot Flower & Garden Festival 2013

I may just spend my entire time in this area. What could be better in life than a Dole Whip with Spiced Rum at Epcot. Life doesn't get any better. -
Our first trip was in November of 2007. We purchased our RV in September and it was, unfortunately, our first trip after our shakedown cruise which was to a very local campground for the weekend just to check stuff out. I say unfortunately because being that our first actual trip was to FW, everything else is measured by the Fort and comes up lacking.

I'll give you a 50/50 something, no kids, first timers view when we get back from it on October 12th. As I'm not overly interested in the character lines I'm hoping for smooth sailing to the rides and entertainment and of course the candy. Rick is using it as a photo op and me, I'm just glad to be back inside MK and for one of my favorite holidays.

Talk me down.....please.
freshlybarked replied to PoorGABoy's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
I too, understand completely. A couple years ago we spent 9 days at FW and Disney. Our longest vacation to date. It rained 8 of the 9 days and those 8 days it rained about 80% of the time. Worst flooding I've ever seen there. You just have to make the best of a bad situation. Go into rides/stores when it rains, take rain gear and have the best time you can. We even went swimming in the rain (no thunder/lightening). You can only get so wet. -
Please make sure your dogs have ID!
freshlybarked replied to BradyBzLyn...Mo's topic in Camping for Pets
Just in case it wasn't said, the phone number is great, but I put my cell phone number on just in case the dogs get lost when we are traveling. That way you can always be reached.- 25 replies

First trip questions
freshlybarked replied to paulmlac's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
I'll also say welcome. Have a wonderful time and bring your bikes. They can go places that golf carts can't go. There is a great path from FW to WL that if you take around dusk you will see lots of deer. Also, I will say that there is almost no noise generated at the dog park. So any loop around there would not be bothered by dog sounds. Except for the occasional dog barking in an RV when people/dogs walk by I have never had a barking dog problem and we have been staying since 2007 and come about 4 - 6 times a year for various lengths of time. You will find no place better than FW and n -
Avatarland postponed

One can only hope this is truly a dead deal. I can think of so many other "Lands". I'd still like Australia/Tazmania which is rich in animals and culture - Outback. -
Free WiFi now available at Epcot
freshlybarked replied to BradyBzLyn...Mo's topic in WDW and Disney Park Discussions
That is wonderful. We carry a Wi-Fi hot spot with us so I can try to access some apps on my Ipod and it never works inside buildings at Disney and sometimes I can't get a signal outside. Works fine away from the parks so they must do something to make it difficult. -
RUMOR: Overhaul for Hollywood Studios
freshlybarked replied to BradyBzLyn...Mo's topic in WDW and Disney Park Discussions
As DHS is my least favorite park I would love to see it get something new and fun. For us this is a couple hour trip with less than exciting things to do and we tend to skip it every other trip. There are many Disney movies they could use to enhance this park. Do a Pirates inspired theme or something similar. Cars is fine so are a lot of other things. My husband loves Mary Poppins and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. National Treasure could be more of an adult treasure hunt. Lots of fun things could be done at this park. -
This is a picture of Cheyenne (black) who passed in February at almost 15 years old. She was a frequent FW guest. The Golden in the picture is her "sister" Jesse, who at 14.5 is still with us and going strong. This is a picture of our newest, Tayla, during a dock diving class. She just turned 8 months and LOVES the pine cones at FW, but traveling is not her favorite thing. She is very routine driven.

800 loop appears closed
freshlybarked replied to YENSIDCAMPER's topic in Fort Wilderness Loops Information
We came in on Sat. afternoon and we are in 847. Loop is about 3/4 full. -
We've unfortunately never gotten around to getting the official sign (bad on us), but look for a purple flamingo photo with the FreshlyBarked name on it at our site and if we are out, sure stop in and say hello. We sometimes don't spend lots of site time (out at pool or riding bikes or walking dogs), but we like meeting people. I love to sit in the afternoon with a cold beverage and while away a little time.

AVATAR Coming To Disney Parks
freshlybarked replied to BradyBzLyn...Mo's topic in WDW and Disney Park Discussions
I too was not crazy with the left leaning bend of the movie, but loved it all the same. I’ve learned if I want to see anything that has been made in the last 20 years I have to put up with it and will if it’s a good movie in spite of that. I too think it will make a nice addition. For those of us who go multiple times a year I want them to change things from time to time. It gives me a reason to keep buying those annual passes.
