  1. When 303 dries, it leaves a film that acts like a sunscreen and contamination deterrent. It also helps prevent outgassing from plastics and extends their life. I use it all over my coach instead of wax. Makes dirt and bugs a lot easier to remove.
  2. It seems like all trailers (RV and utility) are coming with ST Chinese bombs on them these days. Unfortunate as all I've heard is bad things about them. I'm in the process of getting a tow dolly and the first thing I intend to do is remove the Carlisle tires that come on them and replace them with better LT tires from a domestic manufacturer. One note, however, Armor All is one of the worst things you can put on a tire. It contains petroleum products which hastens the drying out of the rubber compounds. I never use it for anything. Instead, the best product I've found is 303 Aerospace Protecta
  3. Wow!!! That's an "E" ticket ride for sure. Glad all of you are OK. Trailer and vehicle can be replaced but you sure can't. Hope they catch the offender and you make out alright with the insurance. Get a couple of big shots of JD and rest.
  4. Good start to another TCD TR. Notice anything odd about this coach? I don't know, but looks like the bay door in front of the rear wheel is open. Hope they didn't lose things coming down the road.
  5. Oh Boy!!! You've done it now. How in the world can you let your kids hold pictures and stand next to the 18 car? Bad, Bad, Bad. As for NASCAR influence, this is going a bit too far.:siren: :popo: Darn! I couldn't find the "Headlock" smiley.
  6. Great TR. Thanks for posting it. Sorry about the trip home, but as we that live in central Fla. know all too well, that's I-4 for you. It's almost like playing Russian Roulette when you get on it. I've been in those parking lots more times than I like to remember.
  7. That was the same last week around Savannah. I usually can load a 5 gal. bucket with crabs, but didn't get any this trip and even lost one of my crab nets. Caught a few whiting, a ton of stingrays, and a ton of blacktip shark pups. Summer fishing in Fla. is usually best around sunrise, and early evening. Wish you luck.
  8. You're right Lou. I am kidding about NASCAR. And, I also agree with you about the other major sports. It's just so much fun to poke fun at NASCAR and its' followers.
  9. Only thing I've got to say is that your kids have really great parents. You are exposing them to the camping lifestyle early on and enjoying numerous family trips. Not to sure about the NASCAR exposure though.:rofl2: :rofl2:
  10. Thanks for the TR. I sure do like your rig. BTW, don't complain about that little door on the side sucking 100 dollar bills. I just took a trip to Savannah and back and my fuel bill for the trip was almost $320.00. Whoopee!!!! It costs me right at $.50 per mile to cruise down the highway in my coach. Can't complain though. I knew that when I bought it.
  11. I've had AAA Premium RV for many years, and just signed up for CoachNet. Reason was that after researching users opinions, CoachNet was the preferred provider for those with RV's as they specialize in RV's. I've heard many stories about calling AAA for roadside service and them sending out too small a tow vehicle for the job at hand. Also, they don't have service in all states as indicated in a previous post. I got my first year with CN at a discount through FMCA so we'll see how it goes. When my time comes up to renew AAA, I'll just go with the base package mainly for the discounts.
  12. Great TR. Interesting to see all the exhibits. Thanks Judy.
  13. I for one can vouch for the fact that you DO NOT want to camp at Stone Mountain in August. My last trip there was in August many years ago and we were in a popup without a fan or AC. That big 'ol rock soaks up all the sun during the day and turns into the largest heater on earth after sundown. Don't believe I've ever been that hot in my life and I've lived in Florida for that same length of time. On another note, thanks for all the great pics and comments about the GG. Glad everyone had a great time.
  14. I very much like your trip reports. They are very informative and entertaining. As I haven't done one yet, I'm using yours as the model of what a great TR should be. Thanks for posting all your TR's. FortFiends is richer for it.
  15. Better watch those headlocks. NASCAR will fine you 150K for it.:rofl2:
  16. We're camping at Ft. McAllister mainly so we can go fishing and crabbing.
  17. Well it's nice to know I was partially right in my earlier post about Bay Lake.
  18. Even though I don't and have never used any of the pools, I'm glad to see they're starting to enforce the rules. The only rule I ever ran up against was I wasn't allowed to board the monorail many years ago because I didn't have my Fort ID with me. Had to go all the way back to the camper and get it. It aggravated me at the time, but it was clearly my fault as I knew what the rule was. I simply forgot to put it in my pocket. Lesson learned.
  19. Thanks for the TR. I'll be up that way (Savannah) in a couple of weeks camping, and I'm sure we'll make at least one day trip to Charleston. It's been many years since I was there so I'll try to spot some of the buildings in your pics.
  20. I've used a 10X20 piece of outdoor carpet (not astroturf) for the last 6 or so years that I got at Home Depot for less than 20 bucks. I sweeps clean well and when I get home from camping, I just lay it out in the driveway and hose it off. It's also thin enough that it rolls up compactly and fits neatly in one of my storage bays.
  21. I would look at LT (light truck) tires. I don't care for the "ST" tires that come on most towable RV's today. Alot of the "China Bomb" comments are from ST tires. I had great service with my Bridgestone LT tires on my fifth wheel. But, there are some that say different. Tires are probably one of the most controversial issues having to do with RV'ing. Personally I tend to stay away from all the odd named chinese tires.
  22. I appreciate all the information about Bay Lake in this thread. In doing some more research, I found the following link that supports its' existence and it's role in the scheme of WDW. My link Just goes to show you that things you've accepted as fact for so many years aren't always true. Glad this discussion came up as I'm more informed now.
  23. Thought I would add, if the kayak deal doesn't work out, the park rents canoes also.
  24. That explains the legend that Bay Lake was man made. Funny how things get modified each time their story is told. Even some of the fellows I knew that worked on the project believed the lake was man made. Now we have the rest of the story. Thanks for clearing that up.
  25. Just a note about the "Walt running aground" story. This could not have happened as Bay Lake is man made and was not completed until most of the MK was in place. Part of the area where the lake is was used as fill for the theme park and surrounding area. The island was, to my understanding, an original design element to break up the open area of water and add some visual interest. Later it became Discovery Island which eventually went the way of River Country. When Walt toured this area, this was basically a swamp and there wasn't a clearly defined lake. I hunted that area with my Dad when I
