  1. Great start! Keep the photos of cute girls coming! It's always fun to read about everyone's first time to the Fort.
  2. Thanks for another enjoyable and educational trip report. My DD has a friend down there now (since January) in the program. I believe she gets to be a "friend" of Pooh or one of the Chipmunks. My DD would love to be able to do that, but alas, chemical engineering is not one of the internships offered. So instead she's spending her summer at Kennywood running one of 3 games.
  3. I'm in, too. All of these GG weekends seem like the greatest time. Someday we'll have to try to make our schedules work so we can attend one.
  4. He did already at about 9:30am. (I just happened to be reading the right thread at the right time, and got to see him.) Follow the thread on the "live feed" in the Community section. Maybe someone smarter than me can post the link.... :)
  5. I think someone has his canoeing merit badge... :) Yes, learning the proper way to canoe makes all the difference.
  6. Well, for one thing, the Norway restaurant wasn't built to represent any Disney movie, so it's not like it "belongs" to anyone. BOG on the otherhand is specifically tied to B&B. I say put them back in Norway. As far as the Crystal Palace ressies. I would keep them, eat & enjoy breakfast, and head over to the A&E greet "just to see how long the line is". Your DD may surprise you, again, and say "skip it!"
  7. Did you see? Good Morning America & Ginger Zee got to ride the Mine Train (with her hands up, lol) and meet the Frozen sisters. Funny....they didn't say or show how long the line was..... :) They did mention May 28th, so I think that means we scooped GMA.
  8. How exciting! A new trip report from a new fiend! I'm in, too. :)
  9. Thanks for the great report! Someday I hope to be able to make it to this GG. It's been a few years since we've been to Gettysburg, and this would be a good excuse to visit again.
  10. Maybe they're hoping the AK tie-in will help with the movie attendance? But, yeah, nighttime at AK is something to look forward to.
  11. The food looks good at the Windjammer. We'll probably eat all our dinners in the MDG, but I'm looking forward to the lunch buffets. I have a question about beverages. On previous cruises I've been on, there were drink stations where you could get the "free" drinks. Usually water, iced tea, lemonade and coffee. Do they still have those? I'm also thinking about bringing an empty water bottle to refill. Do people do that? Do they sell bottles in the gift shop? Looking forward to the ice show pics, too! Too bad the cruise is almost over. For us who like to read trip reports!
  12. Nice pictures! We spent a weekend in NY in 2002 before going on a cruise, and stayed at a Holiday Inn. I had to look at Google maps to see if it was the same one as you're at. No, we were at 57th St. I think your location is better. Right in the middle of everything. Hope you find enough time to enjoy it.
  13. Mears also does private charters around Orlando. When our marching band went to WDW and Universal in 2009, they used the gold Mears busses to get everybody around.
  14. Well, I wonder if they'll have the Quest on our Grandeur cruise? If so, I'll have to be sure to steer my 91 yr old mother in the other direction. LOL
  15. Well, that was all very interesting. Looking at the original article listing all 10 of their disappointing places makes me wonder what she actually expected when going to those places. I guess if you just look at all the tourist brochures, and not do any other research before you go anywhere on vacation, you'll be disappointed. We all know the arguments pro/con for WDW. Otherwise.... A couple of years ago we spent the day in Niagara Falls NY (we didn't have passports, so just stayed Stateside). It had been a number of years since we'd been to either side of the Falls, and yes, the Cana
  16. Thanks for writing such a unique trip report! The whole wedding day sounds so nice. (and the pictures are great!) My question is: did guests need to have park tickets to get into Epcot for the dessert party, or was that all part of the cost of the wedding?
  17. Thanks for the video Jason. I wondered what all the Tom Cruise clips were for. Never did become a fan of his. My DD, however, IS a big fan of Uncle Jesse and Full House. She even has a Jesse and the Rippers t-shirt. :)
  18. Thanks for all the great photos. They're helping me get ready for my trip in June to Bermuda. And I love your nail polish :)
  19. Thanks everybody! It all started when the library I work at was having a class making can cozies out of plarn. Of course I didn't start small, and just decided to make the rug, since I was using old rag rugs when we went camping. The fact that I haven't crocheted in years.....well, that made it more interesting. You can tell, because the rug isn't quite "square" and doesn't really lay flat, but for what it is, I wasn't too worried. Although I did start stressing about the colors. Trying to make it random, but ...not. The bench covers look a bit nicer. I'll take a picture when I'm do
  20. After reading the thread asking about trailer mats, I thought I would share what I made last year for our tent camping. This is crocheted with something called plarn. Plastic yarn. Made from plastic grocery bags. It uses up lots of those bags that you have all over your house. This year I'm making individual seat covers for picnic table benches, after a trip last summer where we had an extremely damp picnic table and I didn't want to sit on the benches.
  21. Thanks everybody! That was what I was hoping for. For the formal nights, I'm actually going to wear the same long sundress I have, just with different jackets and jewelry. I just didn't want to have to pack another dress if I really didn't have to. I knew I could count on good answers from you guys!
  22. Yes! Sleeping on that balcony was the first thing I thought of when I saw that picture. And come to think of it....it looks like you could tie a nice hammock up on those supports and such, don't you think?
  23. Those tents are newer, yes, but look a lot smaller. If you had 4 people I don't think you'd fit 4 cots in there, where they would easily fit in the old ones. I guess you'd have to rent 2 tents then....$$$
  24. Thanks, I'll try to remember that tip....
