  1. Wow it sure takes a long time to read 15 pages! Wonderful trip report. I had just started reading the boards "over there" and didn't get to read your earlier reports, but have heard much about them. Now I know why! I had sent you a pm about the time of :flush2: "over there" and then you were gone. So glad to see you here. I really like seeing all the pictures. Your excursion into the "wild" is terrific. Were you one of those who sneaked on to Discovery Island and took pictures? :rofl2: Seriously, keep up the good work and keep the photos coming!
  2. Me too! 26-29 years ago I did them. Bought the castle one quite a few years back and have been afraid to start it. Not enough time or patience :rofl2: Someday when I am sitting in a camp site just relaxing I will pick it up and do it.
  3. Yes Publix has a good selection. I like their homestyle potato salad made with the red skinned potatoes. Also, their deli fried chicken can't be beat. The whole family loves it and we have it a couple times and take some home.
  4. Thanks for the thoughtful replies. I am sure he will decide on something soon. I know I could do a solo trip with no problem. I know he would have no hesitation if Pleasure Island were still open.
  5. My 26 year old son has over 600 reward dollars on his Visa Reward card (Disney). He needs to take a week vacation before the end of June. He is hesitant to go alone. I have volunteered to accompany him, but I don't think that is what he really had in mind  Any way, what would you suggest for him to make the most of his 600+ reward dollars. Air fares from the Mid west look a bit high right now, but I will monitor them. How do I convince him he can have a good time going alone. If I don't he may end up taking an ex girlfriend (Psycho) and her kid   . Please help.......
  6. If there are no more resort specific mugs, what's to keep you from filling them at any ol' resort? Or the water parks?
  7. Very nice! Thanks for all the info made easy. Easy for us that is..
  8. I have had critter foot prints all over our outside refrigerator trying to get it open. Raccoons are pretty crafty.
  9. This is a gigantic MOUSE TRAP for semi locals. When we had PAPs the cost of the tickets was nothing compared to the cost of all the extra trips. Gas, lodging, food, golf cart rentals, souvenirs. Not to mention the feeling that you HAVE to go to WDW every time you get any time off. That mouse is a sly one. Be afraid. Be very, very, afraid for your wallet. I agree! Since we started getting APs, we have dropped a lot of money on the mouse. BUT, when you do go, the AP provides for less stress touring. If you want to go to MK just for a parade or FW you don't feel as though you are wasting
  10. Towels!! What about the towels!!! Are they at the pool? Should I bring one from home? Can anyone tell me what time the 3 o'clock parade starts? :doublebeer:
  11. We had our tent and RV on our site. We put the tent on the grassy brushy area under a couple trees, well within our site area as it was a corner so not encroaching on anyone else. We were told to move it to the sandy area behind the camper. We did and I don't mind abiding by the rules as long as they enforce it for one and all. OH my....where did I hear this just recently.......some /??/--board. :rofl2:
  12. 1) I just hate the kids, teenagers and yes even adults who cut through your camp site as a short cut to where they are going. and 2)While your neighbors are getting up and ready for early EM hours, you are in your tent after EM hours evening trying to sleep. Kids yelling and doors to campers shutting over and over again. Please observe morning quiet times too. :rofl2: :rofl2: :wiz: :shh: It's actually my grown kids in the tents, but they like to sleep too :rofl2:
  13. swear each year we take home more and more of Florida in our camping rugs. I keep trying to get DH to take the leaf blower to keep the outside carpets somewhat clean. We too give the rugs a good beatin before loading, but you can't get it all out. :D
  14. The Fort's Comfort Stations-aka-Shower House-are one of the reasons people return to Fort Wilderness. Since they have been refurbished, they are nicer then ever. What's your opinion? Have you encountered better elsewhere? Just a refresher, they come equipped with heat and AC, hot and cold running water, at least two sinks with mirrors and electrical outlets, 4 bathroom stalls- one ADA compliant and 4 shower stalls with one being ADA compliant, nicely decorated in tile all around they are cleaned regularly. CS also house a very nice laundry area, with approximately 5 washers and 6 dryers to e
  15. We used to go for 2-3 weeks in summer and then 2-3 weeks at Christmas every year, but have slowed down a bit and are at once a year. And we are right at 1000 miles to FW.
