  1. I also like Gary Sinise. He came and spoke at one of my events a while back. GREAT guy and truly sincere. It's not just an act. I may have to see if I can wrangle a trip, but I'm afraid he's going to have a giant line.
  2. I used to love the steak on their old menu as well as the scallops. Both were taken off back when the DDP debuted. I may have to try this version based on the reviews. I keep wanting to love Kona again...
  3. Looks like everyone is having a great time! I'm jealous...
  4. It's funny you say that. When we were in the 2000 loop the other week, those people were up at the crack of dawn. I ventured to the comfort station bout 5:45 one morning and the people around us were waking up, making coffee and other things that shouldn't happen that early on vacation. I figured I was the black sheep since I slept in until 8 or 9 everyday.
  5. Yes, you receive paper tickets. No different from a ticket you buy at Guest Relations. You just use it like you would any ticket.
  6. I keep coming back to this thread. It's funny, I'm a pretty social person, but I too was a little hesitant to put a Fiend sign out. I wasn't sure. I guess I knew people wouldn't stop by at 7am, see no one and then bang on the door relentlessly, but... in my line of work with students, that's exactly what they do. "Tnerb, why do you look like you just woke up?" Glad to hear that's not how fiends work and looking forward to some fiend meet and greeting.
  7. When I did group trips, no, there was no discount on the DDP. TiW gets the 20% off only on TS except where there isn't a TS option. I would say TiW will save you $$ anyday over DDP. I have it and have used it for years. Even when I was at the All Stars, it was 20% off my meals in the Food Court. Also, the final night at Flying Fish it made a huge difference. That was a $100 meal. The savings add up FAST and it more than pays for itself if you do eat out.
  8. I'm stopping by on Sunday, too... I just hope all of your crazy kids are napping.
  9. Great update. The campground looks pretty nice. and very cool how close you are to the park.
  10. Day 6 - Saturday OK, wow. I'm slow. Thanks for all the comments everyone. I really appreciate it. So far, this is my most successful non-TR. No, it really isn't a trip report. So… let's move this forward. Saturday was a good day. Saturday was a HOT day. Thankfully, the heat dried everything up nicely. I stomped and made noise and clanged pots and pans, etc, etc etc to get Justin to wake up. He finally did. We were off to the MK to meet some friends. I'd declined the 7:45am Crystal Palace breakfast, but we were meeting them at COP at 10. I didn't want to be late. Everyone thinks I'm late to e
  11. Oh Lou. I know you can't be fooled so easily. Wait. I thought you didn't read? I haven't mentioned it yet, but I should. He's seen my sign, so maybe he figured it out. I don't have a degree in marketing for nuthin. Agreed. It got rough by the end of the trip. More on that later. We had some pretty nasty storms. Apparently the whole thing was rocking and shaking and I never even woke up. I try to keep an open mind. It's vacation. WDW is a BUSINESS. Things cost money. I'm not going to bicker over a few dollars for something when I'm spending thousands on vacation already. Thanks. That's
  12. You haven't heard the last of the rain stories. Just you wait. Thank you for clarifying. Once you meet me you'll understand why there's no need to clarify. There is not, has not been nor will there ever be a speedo in my swimsuit drawer. Great name, right? Vodka always helps! It was fantastic and glad you enjoyed yours! No! Still not a TR!
  13. I looked at booking one of these for a group trip a year or so ago. My jaw nearly hit the floor when I found out what it cost to rent it out, plus food. I'd still love to do this one, though.
  14. Thanks for the info. I do vaguely remember something like that. Jokes on them is my short response to that.
  15. Same here. I'll stop if I know you (and now maybe some Fiends that I don't know as well yet) if you're outside, but if I don't see you, I'm not knocking on a door.
  16. I would have never considered it until more recently. With me doing the two week trips, laundry becomes more of an issue than I'd like. Being able to start a load at night while I'm making a cocktail/opening a beer and putting it in the dryer before bed would be a lot better than running back and forth to the comfort station to check on it. Of course, I don't have a camper with said laundry hookups so it isn't an issue, but I can see it being really helpful.
  17. Question for you, Brenda. I'm really in love with those giant sites in the back along the canal in 1400, but I was thinking that the campfire/movie might be obnoxiously loud if you're that close to it. Thoughts?
  18. I'm in! I've seen that CG before and always thought it would be a fun place for a long weekend. It actually looks pretty nice considering it's Carowinds. I look forward to hearing what you thought.
