  1. How have I not answered this? I thought I had. I actually REALLY liked the 1300 loop. I wasn't expecting to, but I did. I was in 1321 which was right across the canal from the pool. During the day there was pool noise. I could hear the CM yelling into the microphone when I was in the shower. Justin is a teacher, so it wasn't pleasant for him. I'm not, so it just sounded like white noise to me. After 6 or so, though, it quieted down and was fine. The site was big with a lot of space between them. If Marilyn had been in 1322, it really would have been a party!
  2. Great job, Bob! (That rhymes!) Glad to see the kids having a good time. I hope there are some more fishing photos on the way.
  3. Great update. It was #9 in my cooler that week as well. Only I ran out. And I heard rumor you were out cold when I was looping... next time I'll know that's exactly when I should stop by.
  4. Meant to post that I thought I had avoided the ticks in the 1300 loop, however.... Went to do the final load of laundry saturday and grabbed the pillows. When I took the cases off, a tiny little tick fell out on the floor. So yeah, they're definitely there this year.
  5. Looks like it was a great time! Thanks for the photos.
  6. I always try to go in February if at all possible. I have a lot going on that month, so it's hit or miss from year to year. The crowds are definitely low. There have been times I've been watching fireworks on the beach with just a few other people. That being said, two February's ago I was there the first weekend and nearly froze to death. It was in the upper 30's at night. Not so bad at home, but when you're out in it, it gets a bit chilly.
  7. I've stayed at Huntington before, but not in an RV site. It was a nice enough park, clean comfort stations and great beach access. It rained when I was there, though, and the whole place turned into mud-fest. That was quite a while back so it may have all been upgraded by now.
  8. I thought I remembered that from your last TR, Dave. They're, obviously, a little higher end than what I was looking it, but looks like there are some good or even great deals on 2012's out there right now.
  9. I'm in. Can't wait to see what all you guys did.
  10. Thanks all. I really wanted to find a jayco that I liked, but they just don't have any floor plans that appeal to me right now. I've found a KZ and Outback that I like a lot. Shopping on Saturday.
  11. Enjoy! I know I would!
  12. I'm in! Can't wait to hear what you thought of the Poly after staying at the Fort.
  13. I've stayed off site plenty of times. For short trips when it's really all about the parks, it's great. A lot of the hotels are quieter and have similar amenities. Usually the hotels themselves are cheaper than a partial site at the Fort. That said, I was getting up at dawn, heading to the parks and staying until they closed. Come back, have a beer, sleep, repeat. If that's what you're going to do, then it would be a good savings. I think you made the right choice, though. Once you stay at the Fort, you'll compare everywhere else to it. There's nothing like it.
  14. I've done the deluxe and the regular. It's a lot of food. And with the regular, the TS credits are the catch. They also include a dessert. That's even more food and something I wouldn't normally order. I did the math and it just didn't make sense for me the last few trips. Then again, I'm not in the parks all the time, so I just eat when I feel like it at the site or when I'm out and about.
  15. I could tell plenty of stories about them last summer when I was leading a few tours. They were at POR with us and I had more than 1 altercation with them. One resulted in my pulling out my phone and calling security as well as my sales manager. They were sitting in parking spaces and not letting my handicapped guests park. They were knocking on doors in the middle of the night. Just obnoxious. I get that they're kids, but they're out of control kids. They guides think they own the place and are just rude. When I was talking to security/front desk/sales manager during the trip, they all just
  16. If I ever finish my not-a-tr, you'll see that in June they chewed right through the propane line on the popup I was in. They are evil, yet people still feed them.
  17. OK, now my head hurts. I thought Ed thought I was talking about Ross, Brandy's BIL.
  18. Is the check-in time 3? I thought it was 1? Regardless, depending on when you check in, your site may be ready. If not, no sweat like mentioned above. I really do prefer premium, but that's just me. I hate the crushed shell in the other sites. It's fine unless it rains. If it does rain it sticks to everything. That being said, the full sites can be pretty spacious. Lornaduck had a HUGE one for the 4th with a good 50 or so feet between her and the next site. I don't usually venture much off the concrete, though, so that's not important to me. It's really all about what you prefer. Welcome an
  19. ACTUALLY, I think you're referring to Brandy's husband's younger brother who was there. I promise her husband (or who she smooched on like her husband) was there.
  20. The thing about it being DirecTV driven is that when it was raining hard, the picture pixelated. And sometimes when it wasn't raining.
  21. I've always had good experiences there, to be honest. I always wanted to dismiss it as a standard sports bar, but the food was above average, below average cost and fresh/hot. If you don't like sports, though, I wouldn't venture over.
