  1. Do it! You won't regret it. Target on Rivers has the one I got. I think I saw it was on sale the other day, too. I have even used it at home a good bit this summer.
  2. Great updates! I've tented in the summer and did just fine. Amazing what we can get used to. How were the lines in the AoA food court? Was there still a lot of waiting around on your food or did they remedy that problem?
  3. The thought of the 3pm pool party just made me shudder. Maybe I minded that site more than I thought I did. Lol.
  4. I also love them. I thought it was a waste of $$ but then I took one in June and can't imagine camping without one. It's so convenient to have ice when you need it and not having to deal with trays and all. I also got mine from Target. I think it was about $75 and makes ice in about 15 minutes.
  5. Awesome! Looks like a great trip. And it included Lorna and Lou too! Can't wait to read more.
  6. Thanks for starting a TR. it was great meeting Rita, Ed and Linda. I can't believe I never got to meet your mama. I guess that means I have to plan another trip!
  7. Someone did post potluck photos. I think TJ did on someone else's trip report. I'm even in one.
  8. I think Ed probably has 4500 photos. He was playing the role of Carol at the potluck. Everytime I looked up he was taking a photo. Thanks, Carol!
  9. Trust me, there were no pictures... of Dave in a bikini or the "lady" in the outpost that I had to shutdown. Ironically, we kept running into her the whole week in the 200 loop. Not surprisingly, she was either carrying a drink or was in no shape to carry one every time we saw her. I also don't think I ever saw her in actual clothes. I'm actually steadily working on the loop videos. There's a LOT of work to be done still, but it's moving along. I'm going to wait and release them all at once in case my upcoming travel gets in the way and slows my progress down.
  10. Thanks everyone. There was so much I could have said, but I think it's been outlined in the other trip reports. It was so much fun, I eventually stopped taking pictures, and I know that's what you all really want to see, so I won't bore you with any of the other details.
  11. I forgot to mention that at some point on Tuesday I saw something floating in the canal. Luckily it wasn't a gator. Seems someone didn't appreciate the yellow pole telling them not to drive their carts somewhere and deposited it in the canal. You can see just how close to the pool we were. I thought it was fine. Justin, the teacher, thought it sounded like recess 12 hours a day and wasn't as happy. And since I'm backtracking, we'll call this "Dusk in the 1300 loop". I must have taken this while we were eating on Tuesday. Yes, this TR is very disorganized. I promise I'll try to get it back on
  12. OK, so I haven't given up on my Not-A-Trip Report, but TCD's comment on MetalDad's TR made me realize I really should share a little bit about my Fantastic Fort Fourth trip. Except that I don't have a lot of photos. And I can't remember some of the details. And a lot has happened since then, but I figured I'd share what I could with everyone. First of all, this was a FANTASTIC trip. True vacation. Very relaxing. I met a whole pile of Fiends who I won't even attempt to list because I'd miss some. More on that later. So this trip was a quick one by my standards. Sunday - Friday. And, it was a l
  13. Hey! I told you that I thought I heard my name, but I was told, "You're hearing things. I'm not stopping. This is boring." Or something like that. Was great meeting you and Ben.
  14. It's pretty small, too, as my looping video making memory recalls. I also noticed there was a lot of sun in that loop. That's the deal breaker for me. Even with the a/c in the camper, I'd rather have a shady site.
  15. I second or third the a/c... until I heard that you were flying. I've tent camped at the Fort in the summer and it was great for sleeping at night. The white noise it generates alone was worth wiggling it into the trunk. It also makes for a better night's sleep. However, I never got too hot in the shade during the day. I'm an outside sort of person, though. As far as everything else, your needs are probably unique to your family. The one thing I always used more of than I thought was rope. Seems like there's always something you need to tie somehow. If you can, pack a small tarp (don't open i
  16. Fiend Party Cab! Can you imagine.... poor driver. I miss the old nightlife of PI, so Jelly Rolls seriously sounds like a blast. Maybe, if Lou is working that night, the magic bus can make a detour for us. I got stranded someone once and they did it...
  17. I am not afraid to invite myself along. I hope to be there November 23-December 2. That's going to be a pretty packed Fiend time.
  18. That's a great update. I did the deluxe dining plan last year and tried to check most of those off of my list... and I did. Since I was on the dining plan, it felt ok, but seeing the prices it doesn't seem like it's as out of reach as people make it out to be. At $99/day for the DDP, I would really have a hard time getting my money's worth since that would take 2 credits and, honestly, I wouldn't order the most expensive things on the menu everyday for a week. That'd be a lot of steak, even for me.
  19. Sounds like a blast. I love a drink. And music. Put them together and... well... hopefully the tag fairy won't be there. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think I am, there's no bus service from BW unless you do the park/DTD transfer, right? What about if it's late? Cab?
  20. Wow. Now if only WDW would do this. I'd have them picking me up in Charleston and driving me down by now.
  21. I go away for a few days and I don't get invited to Fx7. I've eaten there before and I really enjoyed it. We have better French food here, but it's MUCH better than Chefs downstairs. Count me in for going if there ever is a Fx7!
